We have been adopted!

Lucky us! As part of the Young Adult and Teen Readers Adoption Program, we have been adopted by the Red Headed Bookworm. The next few months should be loads of fun!
Hi, Heather here, Creator of all this great blogginess! Wanna know a little about me? Ok, but you asked for it! Well, I am a wife and a mother and I currently work part time as an in-home caregiver. Pretty boring, right? Well, I love it! Maybe in the next life I'll try something exciting like super hero! Who doesn't love super heroes, right?

Anyway, I LOVE to read, so can you guess what this blog will be about? No, okay, I will tell you, but don't let it get around too much. I would hate to become an overnight success! What was I saying? Oh, yes, can you guess what this blog will be about? Books of course. Ok, so as you can see, I am new to this blogging thing. I have been thinking of starting a blog for a while now. So, why not try it out, right? Well, here I am. Still learning the ins and outs. I would love for you to follow me, (on the blog, that is, not around town, that's just creepy!) Anyway, please bare with me as I make this journey. I will get better at it, I promise. And if I don't, well, just suck it up and lavish me with meaningless praise anyway.

her way of escape: sexy diplomat Dirk Roscoepilot. A sizzling kiss
burns him into her memory--and her body. She stows away on a spaceship,
only to find Dirk is the pilot. She doesn't count on the passion that
explodes between them, or the choice that forces her into his bed. If
she is to save her planet, Sasha must get as far away from Dirk as
possible.

Nothing is as it seems at the Hotel Baba Ghanoush, not the stolen trench coat, the naked man…or the fantasy to die for.

On a planet turned to ice, only a warm heart is worth dying for.
When Major Kelly Andres wakes to find Major Byron Grayson gone from the cave that has been their military base the last five months, she knows he has disobeyed her orders and gone to activate the quantum disruptor that will draw their enemy’s fire while the Provisional Army attacks their ships.
Kelly won’t let Grayson die in the frozen wasteland that Onyx has become since the war began. She must find him and bring him back to base. When they die, she wants him in her bed.

Forged in the fires of hell beauty becomes sin incarnate.
Something malevolent grows in Lorna. When
she conjures a dark lord and begs for irresistible beauty, he makes one
demand; serve him as an underworld female who tests mortal men.
Now, a millennia later, this is her last chance to find a man who can
free her. But Lorna must learn to love if she's to save herself. Yet
that won't save the two men who shared her body. One of them must be
sacrificed.

Day Seven: Worlds of Wonder Blog Hop

Today is the last day of the Worlds of Wonder hop. Today, we're sharing a second excerpt with you from Chain Reaction.
Excerpt--
She didn't resist as expected, but slid her hands around my neck and pressed herself closer. The feel of her luscious breasts against my chest hardened me so quickly the sensation bordered on pain. I thrust my tongue against her lips. She opened, and I slid into her mouth. Gladys moaned, the sound a soft vibration through my head that made me unable to think. She felt so good. I grasped her derrière and lifted her feet from the floor, backing her up to the couch. She fell onto the cushion, me on top of her.
I kissed her hard, tasting, needing all of her at once. She arched and I nipped at her lower lip. I fumbled with the top buttons of her shirt, finally managing to get two of them unbuttoned. I tugged back the shirt and thought I would lose my mind. No camisole covered the breasts that nearly fell out of the lacy white bra she wore. I pulled back the bra and stared at an erect quarter-sized rose-colored nipple. God, a woman's breasts were beautiful. I took the nipple into my mouth and rolled the stiff peak against my tongue. My erection pressed against her thigh.
Blood roared through my ears. I thrust my hips against her. Pleasure crashed down on me in a blinding fury. I became vaguely conscious of her heart, each beat pushing more blood through her system. She yanked my shirt free of the waistband and slipped her hands beneath the fabric. Warmth of her fingers penetrated my skin. She raked her nails over my chest.
I sucked in a breath. "Gladys."
She tilted her head back in invitation and I grazed the creamy skin with my incisors. If I gently pricked her skin—I froze. My incisors had fully extended without my having noticed. A taste, my mind persisted. Nothing more. One tiny drop, or two… or ten. I gave my head a hard shake. What was I doing? If Gladys noticed—how could she have not noticed? What was she doing? She'd seen what I did to Mr All American. Why wasn't she running from me in terror? I lifted my head and looked at her face. Had desire flushed her cheeks? She opened her eyes.
"What are you doing?" I demanded.
Her gaze didn't flinch. "This is what you want."
"What I want—" She wasn't offering herself to me because she wanted me. She was selling herself to me for my cooperation. "You would give yourself to me after what you saw the other night?"
"I would give myself to the devil to save my brother."
I showed her a slight smile, revealing the tips of my incisors. "That may be exactly what you've done."

Day Six: Worlds of Wonder Blog Hop

Today we have something really fun: Questions to readers. This is all about you!
What is your favorite genre, and why?
-Definitely Romance. Anything with a romantic feel. Whether it be dripping with love and romantic gestures, or very subtle. *shrugs* I guess I really do love a happily ever after. Though, I'm still waiting for my knight in shining armor to come riding in a majestic steed
What makes a story good?
-I'm gonna have to say characters. The storyline could be beyond this world awesome, but if it lacks great characters, then it's pretty much dull.
What ruins a story for you?
-Again, characters. I guess, it can go both ways. You can't sell a story with crap-tastic characters. But, that's just me.
What do you think makes a good villain?
-Mwahahahahaha (lol, my attempt at an evil laugh)
What is the worst thing a hero can do?
-Ahh. uh, *ponders* ...become the villain? Hey, it could happen. And when that does, it's all bad! No bueno.
Do you prefer to read digital, print, or does it matter?
- I'd be all for eBooks but since I have no eReader, aside from my Kindle for PC and this uncomfortable chair, I'm gonna have to go with physical books. I prefer to be comfortable and trying to read a whole eBook in one sitting doesn't help while sitting in this chair >.<
Do you like to learn more about how your favorite authors write their books, or more about their characters?
-I'd definitely like to learn more about how my fave author writes their books. It's always interesting to see how they come up with these awesome characters and piece them together. Besides, I get to devour these awesome characters in their books.
Thanks to all our readers!

Day Five: Worlds of Wonder Blog Hop

Oh boy, we're interviewing our villain today. Please meet Olga, born in Germany, and spy extraordinaire.
I'm Olga. Some would call me a vampire. I call myself a superhuman. I'm better than you in every way. If I and my companions have our way, we'll prove it.
Where were you born? I was born in Germany. That is still my home and where my allegiance lies.
What single thing or goal do you want most in life? To rule the world alongside my comrades.
What do you fear most? I fear nothing.
What’s your world like? My world is spectacular. It's 1942 and I'm in America, Chicago to be more precise, and I walk amongst humans who can't conceive that a creature like me exists. I plan to infiltrate The Manhattan Project and discover the one secret that stands in the way of the Fatherland ruling the world: the uranium formula that will allow us to win the war against the Americans and Allies.
Are you presently in love, or do you hope to find someone special? I don't fall in love. Men fall in love with me.
Do you have a secret? Yes, I do, a very big secret, and when your Jordan Pierce discovers the truth, he'll realize that things can't be the way they were before.
Do you have any distinguishing facial features? Yes! I have exquisite skin, the color of porcelain. Men are wild for my face.
Where do you go when you are angry? It is dangerous to make me angry. I have been known to prowl the dark streets looking for an unsuspecting victim in which to vent my anger.

Day Four: Worlds of Wonder Blog Hop

Today, we are sharing another excerpt from Chain Reaction. Just how does a superhero react when he meets a beautiful woman?
Excerpt--
I opened the door and stopped dead at the sight of a shapely blonde leaning against Fermi's mahogany desk. I stared as realization sunk in that the Veronica Lake look-alike standing there was the same egghead pictured in her personnel file. The glasses she'd worn were absent and, despite the red-rimmed eyes and drawn expression, the single overhead light warmed the creamy complexion that had looked bland and colorless in the photo.
Thick blond hair slid across her face in a broad wave and flowed down slim shoulders. Suddenly, I understood the reasoning behind the functional bun in the picture. Despite the legs that mesmerized a man all the way down to the high heel straps, the tweed skirt and blazer she wore emphatically stated the bombshell figure was off limits. But the moment a man laid eyes on her luxurious hair all bets were off. My breath caught with bloodlust as I drew in her scent from across the room.
Gray-blue eyes stared from behind the drape of blond hair. Her gaze flicked to my waistband and I realized she'd glimpsed the colt holstered beneath my suit jacket.
"You wear your gun like a gangster," she said.
I startled. Her voice, low and sultry, held a shaky note, but I knew the remark was payment for my staring.
"This incident requires I carry a weapon." My drill sergeant used to berate any reference to the word gun. "Your gun is between your legs, son. Your pistol or rifle is called a weapon."
She continued to stare and guilt stabbed at me. She'd discovered a colleague who'd been brutally murdered, and I stood in the doorway gawking at her. I swallowed, feeling like a school kid.
"Dr Nichols, I'm Agent Pierce, head of nightshift security." Her fingers tightened around a lace handkerchief gripped in her right palm. I didn't want to step closer, but had to. Her pheromones were making my blood, or what was left of it, crave an infusion from her veins. "What happened?"
Her gaze dropped to the hankie and she began working the fabric with both hands. "I was working late and needed Leon to come to the lab. I couldn't get the Geiger counter to calibrate. I knocked. When no one answered, I opened the door and…" Her eyes swung up to meet mine. "So much blood." Her gaze remained locked with my eyes as if demanding a response.

Day Three: Worlds of Wonder Blog Hop

Today is a short stop. We're showcasing a few of the reviews we're received for Chain Reaction.
This is an amazing novel. History, Myth and Romance combine to make this a suspenseful, adventurous, fun read. Murder, espionage, secret teams with extraordinary powers, twists and turns, all of this combines to make Chain Reaction a CANT PUT DOWN read that has you dyeing for more and wishing the story would never end. Carrie Cunningham--Goodreads
As I was reading, I was struck by how T. C. Archer has taken true historical fact and mixed it with a bit of fiction to create a paranormal story that sort of reminded me of The X Men (the movies, not the comic books. Set in the 1940's during the Second World War, this is a fascinating tale that kept me riveted from the first page. There is danger, romance and intrigue in this book that will satisfy those who love detective novels, but it has a paranormal twist. Lynn Worton--Goodreads
Every now and then you read a book that totally takes you by surprise; Chain Reaction was one of those books. This was such a well written book, and you can tell a lot of research was done to make sure historical parts were accurate. Spies, espionage, The Manhattan Project, and murder with a paranormal twist: what more can you ask for in a book? Vampire Romance Books

Day Two: Worlds of Wonder Blog Hop

It's day two of the Worlds of Wonder blog hop and today we're giving you an insider view or our hero Jordan Pierce.
Welcome listeners to WCHI Radio’s home-front heroes interview with Jordon Pierce.
That’s an interesting name. Tell me about that.
My father is from Boston where there Pierce family. My mother’s maiden name was Jordon. It’s an old Southern family name from before the civil war.
Your mother is from the south and father from the north?
Yep.
How did they meet?
My father was in the Army stationed in Atlanta when they met. The South was still rebellious back then, so my father and mother had to elope and move to Chicago. I must have heard that story a hundred times.
What did he do for a living?
He worked in a slaughterhouse. He’d come home stinking of blood and bodily fluids. He hated that job, but his family wouldn't take him in with a southern wife, and her family wouldn’t give her a dime even though they were well to do plantation owners.
Even after all that, your father gave you her family name.He didn’t hold a grudge. Never did. I was bitter for years, but now her family is gone, except a couple of cousins. My father died a while I was in the Army and my mother moved back with them. I send her money, but she sends it back.
Do you have any brothers or sisters?
None that survived.
Are you married or divorced?
Neither. I’ve been busy and a cop’s life is no good for wives and family. I didn’t really know any cop who had a good home-life apart from newlyweds. I had a girl once, but she couldn't marry a cop.
Perhaps she will read this.
Small chance of that. She doesn’t get the Trib.
So you were a cop. Why did you quit?
I was a detective. The best, but I caught this bad case of insomnia and then I’d drop asleep at the drop of a hat in the day. I couldn’t stand it.
What did your doctor say?
He gave me a physical and said it was stress related. Stupidest thing I ever heard. With the war in Europe and rationing here, everyone is stressed. I thought it was a joke until I drove past the slaughterhouse where my dad had worked and I got so sick from the smell, I blacked out. I woke up in the alley, sitting in my own vomit and holding a carcass of a dead rat that had been drained of blood.
Good grief. What did you do?
I quit my job.
And that was the answer?
No, that only made me feel worse, but America had a war to win, and I knew from my work at the precinct that there was war-related metallurgical research going on under the stands at Chicago University’s Stagg Field. I figured they would need night security, so I applied. It was a perfect fit. I slept during the day and was up all night anyway.
How do you like the new job?
I like it a lot. I’m around a lot of brilliant scientists. I’ve learned a lot just by roaming around, eavesdropping on technical conversations and reading equations and diagrams on blackboards.
But it’s only metallurgical work. It’s not rocket science.
That’s what they tell everyone, but it’s more fascinating than that. Besides, you don’t think they use metals on rockets?
I suppose they do. So this is for the war effort?
Most definitely.
There must be a lot to be very satisfying. Were you in the military?
I was in the big war. I have a purple heart, learned enforcement, and come home to join The Force. Chicago was rife with crime, corruption and bootlegging at the time.
Your job must be pretty boring compared to what it was back then.
It was until recently.
What happened?
I’ve been ordered not to talk about it, but something terrible happened to one of our scientists and I suspect one of our women scientists is involved, somehow.
Well, I suppose scientists are people too. That kind of thing must happen a lot.
Not this, no, sir. This is dad. Real bad. And, to make things worse, I think I’m falling for this woman.

Day One: Worlds of Wonder Blog Hop

Welcome to the Worlds of Wonder blog hop. Each day of the hop you'll learn something new about us and the other six authors participating in the hop. We're kicking off the hop with an interview, but be sure to check out our give away and the hop prizes.
Would you tell us a little bit about yourself? We're T. C. Archer, the writing team of Evan Trevane
and Shawn M. Casey. We write various forms of romantic science fiction,
romantic suspense, and paranormal suspense. We met at an online advance
writer’s workshop about ten years ago. We didn’t know one another in the
‘real’ world at that point, but each fell in love with the other’s
work. That was about a dozen novels ago.
When did you realize that you would like to write and publish a book? Evan wanted to be a writer since junior high school. Shawn got the bug to write in her thirties.
Can you tell us a little bit about your book? We were kicking around the idea of some sort of
superhero story, which led us to the mid-twentieth century where heroes
represented justice, truth, freedom and, of course, the American way.
This piqued our interest in WWII, an era rich with intrigue, love,
science, drama and, yes, love. During the war, questions were raised on
everything from Hitler’s obsession with the occult to the Ghost Army
that created tactical deceptions to fool the Germans.
Many things that helped win the war are so fantastical that they border on fiction. Consider an average man who decides to help the war effort and starts to spy for Great Britain—without actually joining British Intelligence! This man not only became one of the greatest spies of all times, but was single-handedly responsible for the ruse that fooled the Germans and allowed the Allies to land in Normandy. In Chain Reaction you’ll find some of these fantastical elements sprinkled throughout the book, some in the history books…some not.
We took a cue from the great Connie Willis, who writes science fiction/alternate history that strictly adheres to our world history. So how does a book get classified as alternate history when the history doesn’t diverge from real world history? In our case, we call the alternate history elements What you won’t find in the history books. We portray world events as being credited to someone other than the real heroes behind the scenes, which means these heroes never made it into the history books and were expunged from existence. There’s a good reason for this anonymity…some of these heroes weren’t quite human.
Where can we purchase this book?
Can we expect more novels from you in 2012-2013? We’re working on the next two books in The Phenom League. The first is entitled Desert Fox and takes place in El Alamein when Rommel marched across Egypt. Our hero is a five thousand year old mummy who has been guarding his pharaoh. The second novel takes place in Chauny, Francey, with the underground Chauny Line where Allied soldiers were hidden from the Germans. Our hero is a WWI pilot who was shot down and killed, but he never passed over. He must discover the secret weapon that the Germans are reported as having. You might even see a space ship in this book.
How much of you or people you know do you think make it into the characters in your novel(s)? Heh heh. If we admit to using people we know that
could get us into a lot of trouble. So we won’t swear on a stack of
Bibles that people we know don't make it into our books.
Why this genre(s)? We love the WWII era and we love the idea of paranormal superheroes.
Where do you see yourself at in five years—writing wise? Writing full time.
Can you tell us a few do’s and don’ts for aspiring authors?
Do write a lot.
Don't watch tv or play video games instead of writing.
Do read a lot.
Don't read only the genre you write in.
Do find people you trust to read your work.
Don't get upset at constructive criticism. (Construction being the operative word.)
If you are self-published, why did you decide to take this route of publishing? We decided to take this route of publication in order to maintain creative and financial control over our books.
