Could everybody stop falling into the hoax...
Could everybody stop falling into the hoax that the Fukushima power plant has contaminated all of the pacific ocean?
Not only has snopes confirmed that the hoax is false but National Geographic has run two features in the past month that are much more informative and well-researched.
Most of the radiation being leaked into the Pacific Ocean is cesium-134, which has a half-life of only two years. Cesium goes in and out of the body like salt, and has had effect on marine populations near Japanese fisheries, however most of the banned sea food is slowly being made acceptable for public consumption.
The real issue now is that some leaks of strontium-90 have been discovered, which is a radioactive substance that stays in the bones of fish and human beings, however much of what has been leaked is cesium…

Reblogged and bold added because if I see this map used as a scare tactic about radiation again, I will completely flip my lid. Also because I respect radiation too much as a threat and a foe and a force of nature to see it written about poorly, and people need to know what they’re dealing with in order to react properly.

People totally think you’re a lost child when you’re out in public.
When you try to really tell someone off in an argument, but they can only talk about “how cute you are when you’re mad.”
Being short = being too close to NATURE.
Being offered the children’s menu at restaurants.
Your yearbook photographer had to lower the camera significantly in order to fit you in the frame.
FINDING CLOTHES THAT FIT.
Never being able to reach the top shelf of anything, anywhere.
Not being able to see around anyone when you’re in a crowd.
You can never reach the other side of the table, so if you want more dinner you either have to ask for more or get up to go get it yourself.
Having only, like, one other petite friend (but loving them extra for it).
