Happy Friday!!
Before we say so long to our wonderful guest this week, Cynthia Arsuaga, she is leaving us with a little something yummy.... a delicious excerpt!
Let's take one final look at "The Cougar and her Vampire"!!
Recently divorced Payton Fleming vacations in Crete, looking for a quiet resort to get away from the chaos of the death of her best friend, serial killer, and an ex-husband. The adventure at the resort brings more than she expected—a young man with a story to tell. Concerned with the age difference, Payton knows there is something else he is keeping from her.
Christian MacKenzie is an entrepreneur in the hospitality and entertainment business, owner of Nocturnal Entertainment and Hospitality Corporation (NEHC), luxury resorts and nightclubs around the world. He escapes to his favorite resort on Crete, and meets his vision of a Greek goddess, a mysterious beauty, but fears she will reject him because of what he is, a vampire. After returning to Miami, and a rival from his past threatens their happiness, will their love survive all the obstacles along the way…and The Cougar get Her Vampire in the end?
ADULT EXCERPT:He delved deeper into her with each rhythmic push. She let out a scream of hot, wet abandonment with the fourth climax, which crested more intensely than the first three. He let out his own deep groan as his passion crested, and his fangs came down, his eyes blood red.Payton sucked in a deep breath at seeing him in vampire form.He grimaced, pulled out and fell down beside her. His fangs receded. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you."Immediately, she sat up and scooted back on the bed away from him. "Are you okay? You look…a little hungry?"He shook his head. "I'm fine. I…I got a little carried away with yer sexy, responsive body. It's so sensual. I'm sorry I scared you, love. I won't hurt you.""That's okay. I've never seen you as a vampire before, except for the night you told me. You know how to put on quite a show, mister." She decided not to let his display of his true self, the fangs and glowing, blood red eyes, bother her. He was who and what he was and couldn't change if he wanted too. She had to accept him because the alternative, living without him, would be unbearable. He actually hadn't lost control and bitten her, which made for a good thing. He'd shown restraint. She could trust him.Moving closer, she took in the magnificent sight of him. Her young man from Elounda made her quiver, and she yearned for his body like no other man before. Her hand glided over his strong chest and down his taut, well-defined abdomen. She stopped at the area where he had been cut by the gang member."Did this hurt? Where that kid cut you the other night?""Nay, not really. After three hundred years, you become desensitized to the pain we go through as vampires. I've been cut, sliced, hung, burned, but the worst is going without blood for too long.""It's that painful?""Like dying all over again. You're enraged and would do anything, and I'm ashamed to say I have. When I first turned, I didn't know how to hunt properly without being caught. I lived in fear and didn't manage my prey very well. I went days, sometimes weeks, without feeding properly. Deprivation of blood is an excruciating hell to live in, one I never wish to repeat. Ian didn't fare much better to our circumstances, since we were turned at the same time. We learned to hunt together, and we survived for many years hunting prey in tandem. That's why our on-going conflict is hard for me. Why doing what I have to do is difficult for me.""You mean kill him? How do you kill a vampire, anyway?" Her hands continued to aimlessly wander over his body as he spoke."Aye. The most efficient way is to cut off their head or run them through the heart." Then he added with a tone of regret, "Ian used to be my friend."She ran her fingers down a trail leading to the V of fine curly raven black hair above his groin. "Now I see why you carry swords instead of guns."Chuckling, he said, "A clean cut is surer than putting random holes in an enemy."She paused, and changing the subject, asking, "Do you become desensitized to the joys of pleasure over the years, as well?" She stroked his cock the full length, and even semi-flaccid, he was thick and long. She grinned as he flexed muscles causing a twitch."Nay, the joys of pleasure, especially by you, could never desensitize any man." He groaned as he closed his eyes."My, God, you take my breath away." She continued stroking him, tracing the pronounced vein pulsing on the surface. "How did it happen?""What? This? I was born with a big cock, lass. Made to please the women in my life." He fell back on the bed pillow. "Don't stop what you're doing, love."She snorted. "Oh, you think you're clever." She squeezed him gently. "I meant what happened to ruin your friendship.""Do not toy with a man like that if all you want to do is talk instead of indulging in carnal pleasures.""I just want to get to know more about you. What carnal pleasures would you like to indulge in, Mr. MacKenzie?" She tickled him along his inner thighs and up under his balls, and then stretched out beside him, cradling her head on his shoulder."Love, I'll give you all night to stop torturing me like that.""As long as you give me what I want in return." She went back to stroking his growing erection. He may be over three hundred years old, but he can perform and recover like no normal twenty-seven year old I ever knew."I have to admit Ian was right about one thing. Ye'r a tough negotiator, Miss Fleming. Anything, anything you want is yers." He turned to the side, propping up on his elbow."I told you what I want. Talk to me. Tell me about Ian.""He's evil. Bad news. You need to stay away from him. End of story. Now let's get back to the carnal pleasures." He ran his fingers through her hair, pulling her close enough to kiss. "By the way, I haven't told you yet. I like yer hair this way. It definitely suits you.""Thanks, but no changing the subject. Why aren't you friends anymore? He couldn't have been evil when you were friends, unless you were evil too?" She hesitated with the last part of her question. Maybe evil ruled him when he first transformed. He'd hinted as much earlier. He may have changed for the better while Ian never changed."Ye'r not going to let this go are you?""No and just to let you know I'm a woman used to getting what she wants once I set my mind to it."

Hello my friends! Today is my favorite part of a spotlight week. Whether I'm meeting new authors or hanging out with authors I consider friends, it's always fun, but when those guests bring characters from their books... then we have all the ingredients needed for a party!
Well, guess what? It's PARTY TIME!
Let's take another look at the book, then I'll hand the blog over to Cynthia Arsuaga so she can share her interview with Payton from, The Cougar and her Vampire....

Hello, I'd like to thank Robin Badillo for the invitation to guest blog. My name is Cynthia Arsuaga, author and host today. Also with me in the studio, I have the pleasure of interviewing Payton Fleming, the charming and successful woman and lead character of my third novel, The Cougar and Her Vampire. Creating Payton was an absolute joy to write and actually she was my first ever character. She came alive from the moment I gave her the name. I wanted to write about an older woman who finds love. After "retiring" from a day career, I had time on my hands and started reading romance novels and found the heroine always seemed to be a young woman full of spirit and wise beyond her years, something I really found unbelievable. I thought I could write something just as good and heroine closer to my age. The rest is history! Payton graciously joined me today. Taking a break from her busy schedule handling her real estate career in Miami and spending time with the love of her life, Christian MacKenzie, vampire entrepreneur, she will share a few insights into her exciting and intriguing life. Please give Payton Fleming a warm welcome.
CYNTHIA: Hi, Payton. Welcome and thank you for stopping by. I know you are one busy lady.PAYTON: Thank you Cynthia and a thank you to Robin too. It's my pleasure.CYNTHIA: Let's get down to it. Tell the audience a little about yourself, what is your background? Who is Payton Fleming?PAYTON: Okay, where should I begin? I'm currently living in Miami, Florida, but split my time there and London, which is where my vampire lover's business headquarters resides. His name is Christian MacKenzie. Some call him C.J., but I like Christian better. (She snickers) I've been a model, personal assistant to a producer in Los Angeles, and for the past twelve years a real estate broker specializing in high-end condominium sales.CYNTHIA: Interesting. Your life's path has taken a rather diverse course. Although, I should talk, mine has zigzagged in different directions too. Can you tell the readers how you came to meet Christian? Seems unlikely in your current line of work you'd meet a vampire entrepreneur.PAYTON: No problem. Meeting Christian was a computer glitch really.CYNTHIA: You mean you meant on-line? What through one of those dating sites?PAYTON:  Oh heavens no. Christian and I joke about it now, but if the hotel manager of his Elounda Resort in Crete, Greece hadn't made the suggestion to open the resort to humans unaware of the existence of…you know (she whispers) vampires, I wouldn't have seen the add and planned a vacation. I knew nothing about them being among us, so when he introduced himself, I thought he was a brash young man totally out of my league. He was so cute, courting me and charming the pants off me, literally. I couldn't believe he'd be interested in me because I thought I was way too old for him. But, he persevered. Except, I thought he had ulterior motives and returned to Miami thinking he used me.CYNTHIA: Okay, that sounded romantic until you said he used you. How did you overcome his deceit?PAYTON: Very long story and you should know, you wrote it, and the readers need to read how things turn out on their own.CYNTHIA: *snickering* I know I did, didn't I? Well, can you tell us just a little peek of how you ended up with him?PAYTON: *snort* You're funny. Let's see, we did resolve our issues. Turns out he didn't use me like I thought, he didn't tell me about his true identity because he feared me rejecting him because he was a…you know what. It shocked me at first, but I realized I loved him no matter what.CYNTHIA: You're telling us the old adage that "love conquers all" happened to you? Isn't that a little cliché? I mean really?PAYTON: It wasn't like that. Our life wasn't all rose covered and bells ringing. My life was threatened by a really bad vampire named Ian McAlester. Turns out Christian and Ian once were friends, but Ian went crazy a couple of hundred years ago and they went their separate ways. Then when this rage for…you know (she whispers again) vampires, Christian and Ian became developers of clubs and resorts. Christian catered to the affluent, rich and famous types, and Ian didn't care where he got his clientele and created more Goth-style establishments. They became rivals. Somehow or the other, I became a pawn to be played in their dangerous game of supremacy.CYNTHIA: Wow that sounds scary, but obviously you're okay. I bet Christian became your knight in shining armor and rescued you and now you're living happily ever after, right?PAYTON: Not quite. Christian did rescue me, but I came to realize his life left a lot to be desired for a mere mortal and I asked that he erase my memory of him and let me live my life without him.CYNTHIA: No! That's so sad. But, you are together, what changed your mind?PAYTON: Not my mind, my heart. I don't want to spoil the ending of our love story, but let's just say, Christian left an indelible mark on my heart and we found each other again where the story began. Now, we spend time together as much as possible. We're only eight hours apart, and we do a lot of computer chats and well you know (she winks).CYNTHIA: Ahh, yes I know. You're such a naughty cougar Payton. Let's change the subject and get into some fun questions I ask all my characters. What is your main fault or vice?PAYTON: Hmm, good question, Cynthia. I guess if had to admit my faults, I'd say I'm an insecure person although I'm working on that. I grew up a very awkward, geeky kind of girl and that image haunted me all my life. I think that's why I was married and divorced three times. I always doubted myself. With Christian, it is so different. He believes in me and loves me for who and what I've become. I truly love that man.CYNTHIA: Oh, that is sweet. Okay for the last question before a set of quickies. Do you have any plans for your future you'd like to share?PAYTON: Well, I have been working on a development for Christian's company, Nocturnal Entertainment and Hospitality Corporation. The acronym is pronounced "neck" like in you know biting one. (She snickers) Anyway, Christian wants to open another club in the United States. He has a resort in Las Vegas and a club in Miami Beach/South Beach and I'm working on that. We travel extensively as well. I'm getting to know all his resorts around the world and that has been very exciting. Of course, our favorite is the Elounda Resort in Crete and we try to get there as often as we can. We have quite a social calendar ahead of us.CYNTHIA: How exciting. I can understand Elounda being your favorite. I've been there and it is a beautiful place. Okay, enough of the serious questions, let's have some fun with the round robin answers. Which do you prefer, Satin or Lace?PAYTON: Lace.CYNTHIA: Denim or Leather?PAYTON: Denim. I tried leather and not my thing. I only bring my tight pants out on occasion for Christian's pleasure.CYNTHIA: Okay. You are a naughty cougar aren't you? Back to the questions. Thunder or Lightning?PAYTON: Lightning.CYNTHIA: Dark eyes or Light eyes?PAYTON: Light, especially green.CYNTHIA: The sound of a heartbeat or a crackling fire?PAYTON: The sound of a heartbeat, it's too hot in Florida for a fire.CYNTHIA: Coffee or Tea?PAYTON: French Roast Coffee. But, I'm drinking more tea when I visit England.CYNTHIA: Chiseled jaw line or chiseled abs?PAYTON: Chiseled abs to lay my head on.CYNTHIA: High heels or flip-flops?PAYTON: Hmm, heels because I like to dress up, especially for Christian.CYNTHIA: Mountains or Beach?PAYTON: Beaches of course, walking hand-in-hand with Christian in the moonlight barefoot in the sand!CYNTHIA: Rain or Sunshine?PAYTON: Sunshine, when I'm not playing with Christian. Hey I live in the Sunshine State of Florida. If I'm with Christian, then I don't care as long as I'm with him.CYNTHIA: Picnic in the park or dancing in the club?PAYTON: For a romantic evening, dancing at one of his clubs. Christian doesn't eat because he's you know...CYNTHIA: Well I think I'll end this interview on that note. I want to thank you so much for visiting with us Payton. Those were very interesting and colorful answers! We had a wonderful time sharing this conversation and learning new facets of your personality.PAYTON: Thank you Cynthia and to Robin for opening up her Blog, Sealed With a Kiss, to us today. It has been my pleasure! I'll look forward to a return visit and maybe I'll bring Christian with me next time.CYNTHIA: That would be marvelous. I'm sure the readers would love to meet him and listen to his sexy accent.I want to thank everyone today for stopping by and reading my interview with Payton Fleming, the heroine of The Cougar and Her Vampire. Happy Humpday, Everybody!!!As promised, Cynthia Arsuaga is still here and she's packing some heat...vampire heat!!She's brought a lot to share today, so I won't bore you with my banter. Instead, let's jump right in and get comfy as we take a gander at "The Cougar and her Vampire" [image error] Recently divorced Payton Fleming vacations in Crete, looking for a quiet resort to get away from the chaos of the death of her best friend, serial killer, and an ex-husband. The adventure at the resort brings more than she expected—a young man with a story to tell. Concerned with the age difference, Payton knows there is something else he is keeping from her.Christian MacKenzie is an entrepreneur in the hospitality and entertainment business, owner of Nocturnal Entertainment and Hospitality Corporation (NEHC), luxury resorts and nightclubs around the world. EXCERPT:  "Maybe," he said, wondering over the nervousness he sensed in her. "Why don't you tell me more about yourself? I want to know the real Payton. What makes you laugh? What makes you cry? What makes you happy?""You know I'd have to think about that for a bit. No one has ever asked me in quite that way before.""Really? Are you happy being with me right now?" he asked. She looked up at him. "You sly devil. You made me fall right into your little trap. Yes, I am actually. This is a happy moment, while it lasts anyway.""You don't think you can be happy with me forever?""C.J., you know I have reservations about us because of our age difference. You've shown me how the geographical distances could be overcome." She smiled coyly at him, and then continued, "The age difference is still a problem.""Not for me, Payton.""Of course, you can say that. Except for me, age is a problem. I have to live with the difference staring back at me every day from the mirror." She paused, took a deep breath, and continued. "I've been married three times, and all three of them left me for younger women. The most recent divorce is still raw, which is one of the reasons I'm here in Elounda. He left me for a twenty-something bimbo. I can't compete with younger women anymore. They left me! How am I supposed to recover from that?"Her revelation dumbfounded him. For a moment his lips moved but no words came out. She didn't wait for him to answer as tears welled up. Turning away, she ran into the villa, the tears flowing freely.Following her, he grabbed her by the upper arm."Payton, stop. I'm sorry. I didn't know. I'm sorry." He embraced her tightly, his arms around her shoulders and waist. Could he be wrong about doubting her intentions? Reading her mind came more difficult the more emotionally attached he became. He sensed her sincerity, which confused him more. "C'mon back and let's talk." He ushered her back to the chaise lounges situated around the pool. They sat down and silence weighed heavy in the air for a few moments."I'm here to listen, if you want to talk. No judgments. I told you the first day I met you, I would listen, and I sincerely meant what I said."A few more silent moments passed."I'm sorry. I'm such an emotional wreck lately. I came to this resort to clear my head about my recent divorce and other things going on in my life. Then, I met you and got sidetracked. Everything has happened so fast, I'm having a little trouble processing what's happening between us right now. I told you I have baggage, and you didn't need to get involved with me.""You don't have more baggage than I do. Trust me, I think we all have problems, but in different degrees. So what if you were married to three idiots masquerading as decent men. I'd be willing to bet that each one of your ex-husbands were narcissistic pretty boys—they were into themselves and what they wanted and didn't give a rat's arse what you wanted in life. They didn't care what made you happy. I bet they didn't want children, either, did they?"Payton's head snapped back slightly from his question. "How'd you know? No, they didn't. They all said we had to enjoy each other before we could bring another life into the world. Except I did want a child. By the time I married Demetrius, he decided he was too old to have children and had a vasectomy before we got married. I should have known something wasn't right when he had the procedure done without discussing anything with me. By doing that, I see now I couldn't trust him, but I was in denial, I suppose.""Payton, I would never treat you like that. I find you to be a smart, beautiful, intriguing woman, and no younger woman could come close to comparing to you. Yer life experience alone is sexy as hell to me. You've seen all the young women here at the resort. I'm attracted to you, no one else, now or ever.""How can you make a statement like that? You are so young, and you have your whole life ahead of you. When I'm old and gray, you'll still be an attractive, handsome, virile man wanting to have sex, and not with a wrinkly, dried-up cranky old woman. How are you going to feel then?""Payton, if I love you, nothing else matters. We will find a way to make this work. I can guarantee you, I won't be boring, and I promise I'll be gentle." He gave her a smile and moved closer to her."Gentle, like last night, right?""Aye, you caught me humor?""Yes, are you trying to tell me to stop being so serious about this?"He brushed back a few tendrils of her hair that had fallen out of her ponytail while he told her, "Aye, my beautiful goddess, life is too short to fret over this age difference between us. Be honest with me, Payton, be honest with yourself. If you want our relationship to work, you have to let go of the hurts from yer past. They're holding you back.""You're right, I do have to let go. I can't let the men of my past ruin the men of my future." She lifted her chin and made a gesture toward him."What do you mean by men? I hope to be the only man in your future." He dropped his voice to a low, rich pitch, filled with a seductive promise for more than casual talk."How can you talk about loving me after only knowing me a couple of days? I'm nothing special, especially for someone like you.""Do you believe in love at first sight?""No, not anymore. I told you three marriages kind of ruined that 'let's live happily ever after' fairy tale for me.""I do believe. I knew the moment I saw you."Ahh! Now that's exactly what I need... a man who isn't afraid to put himself out there. GUEST SPOTLIGHT

Please put your hands together and give my guest,  Skhye Moncrief, a warm welcome!
This week's going to be fantastic!!!!
Skhye will be sharing book 3 in her "Feral" series, Feral Fever, and if you're really good, she has a free read for you, too.
We have a lot to share this week, so let's get to it...

Paranormal/Futuristic romantica (A blonde lands 5 Tiger Lord mates even though she doesn't want more than one.) FERAL FEVER... Book 3 in Skhye Moncrief's Feral series Epic-length novel, 110,000 words

Blessed are those who just give into the darkness.    With the Blood Wars ended, were-assassin Marshals are called to serve throughout the universe in easing cultural tensions instigated by the transition of cultures from zombified to free-thinking societies…
Earthling archaeologist Aisling Bjorn never really considered juggling multiple husbands for were-assassin duty on planet Luvk—a world of tiger folk subjugated by winged aliens from another dimension. Learning the lost history of the tiger culture to understand how the winged species divided and conquered the tiger realms is more her cup of tea. But she's in store for an even bigger challenge than helping the Luvks reclaim their independence. There's a shortage of marriageable females for the large broods of gorgeous tiger princes. The friction caused by mating problems threatens her sanity as the warrior Lords vie for possession of not only a mate but a powerful political pawn—her, the Marshal whose beauty rivals that of the most marketable princess. And mates the Lords all wish to be.
Aisling must accept that with every turn in life, we sacrifice a bit of our souls for the greater good. Even to the darkness. Blessed are those who just give into the darkness of Luvk. Because a woman's sanity is out of the question when surrounded by enormous muscled hunks cloaked in sexy leather pants. Their glorious bodies alone could incite riots on Earth. And they all want her. BLOOD HUNTER-THE BETRAYAL

BLOOD HUNTER-THE BETRAYAL AVAILABLE TODAY!!!!   The day is finally here!! The second installment to my Blood Hunter Trilogy, The Betrayal is available for download from eXtasy Books!! This one is near and dear to my heart. If you've been following my blog for a while you may recall a near cataclysmic event that occurred earlier this year and the entire Betrayal manuscript became corrupted and was lost.    I beamed up the emergency "bat signal" and within minutes authors, friends and family all over the world bombarded me with email and suggestions on how to recover it.    The ordeal lasted just over twenty-four hours and in the process everyone from braniacs over at IT to (rumor has it) somewhere pretty darn close to the Pentagon, were enlisted to help.    Fortunately, no tax payer money was wasted because prayers were answered and two quite determined angels by the name of Bob and Leslie Marshman, from my local Houston RWA chapter came to my rescue!!   By the skin of our teeth, a wing and a prayer and any other cliche' that fits,  The Betrayal was reborn!!So without further disasters, disruptions or computer glitches, here it is folks!! ENJOY!!!
Jason Craft is a vampire on a mission. Destroy the last of the rogue vampires he's been enlisted to hunt and he'll be released from a century old vow made to his creator. Freedom from his obligation was so close he could taste it. He'd lost everything he held dear, but his life would soon be his own once again. Jazmine Fabré has spent the last fifteen years caring for her adopted younger brother, a vampire with autism, who was attacked and turned by her very own sire. All she wants is justice on his behalf and as fate would have it, Jazmine's sire is next on Jason's hit list. Thrown together on a mission to hunt him down, they find more than they bargained for on their quest… they find each other. As the hunt heats up, they soon discover how hard it is to take down an enemy when they don't know who it really is. Will hidden secrets and betrayal destroy them before they have a chance start a life? Or were their lives fated for separate paths all along?Hunting can be a dangerous sport when the prey has all the ammunition.
WARNING ADULT EXCERPT:The slight grumble in his chest sent her body into a near frenzy, writhing beneath him as he took his time to shower her skin with kisses and personal attention. Her mind, foggy from the swirl of desire, couldn't recall exactly when their clothes hit the floor, but the sight of this man, naked and hovering over her with each rippling muscle flexed, heightened her senses instinctively. If there ever was a man who could command her body at his will, Jason Craft was quite possibly that man.She clenched her eyes closed tight as his mouth ventured down her body and when his cool, moist tongue encircled her nipple she giggled from the tickle. He moved farther down and her breathing quickened. It had been far too long since she felt like this, her body being explored and savored. The best part was that this time it wasn't a dream. Jason was making love to her and whatever misgivings she may have had moments ago flew out the window into the predawn mystery looming in the disappearing night just outside.  "Jazmine, open your eyes," he whispered as he stirred between her legs. She pried them open and gazed up at the blue-eyed prince staring down at her. "Look into my eyes so you'll know it's you I see."Was he for real? Her body melted into him just as easily as her mind became lost in his scent. He hardened between her legs causing a thrilling gasp to escape her lungs. She reached down and stroked him with her fingertips and his eyes narrowed. Licking his lips, he kissed her again, biting her bottom lip as his mouth consumed hers.  She swallowed hard as he held his body above hers not moving close, though the burn between her legs wanted him to. "Yes?" he asked with a slight nod of his head. "Yes," she replied breathlessly, digging her fingernails into his biceps. A cocky grin spread across his face and in that instant she knew she was in trouble. "No."What? Had she heard him right? She caught her breath as he lifted himself higher above her. His arm was stretched taut as he lingered there, not moving away, but not continuing on. "What?" Confusion overwhelmed her. "Tell me what you want.""Want?""A woman like you just doesn't give in to a man like me unless she wants something. What is it?"A familiar flare of anger snuck into her gut. "Who says I have to want anything?"He didn't reply right away, instead, with his other hand he ran his finger down the edge of her jaw. "Tell me," he said tenderly. "Tell me what you want."Jazmine's gaze darted back and forth searching his eyes. Was he playing a game? She started to get up, but he instantly shifted and gripped her wrists, holding them both above her head. Her breasts jutted up against his chest and a feeling of fear washed over her as she suddenly felt out of control. She never allowed herself to lose control and now wouldn't be the time to start.   "I have at least seventy years on you, kitten, you won't be getting away that easily." The right side of his already cocky grin rose, making her blood boil. He was enjoying himself. "Tell me what you want and I'll give it to you." "I don't want anything from you," she hissed. "Now get the hell off of me."He shook his head. "No, because you're lying.""Get the hell off me, Jason!" she boomed, bucking beneath him. His mouth enclosed hers hard, and his tongue plunged in so deep she shrieked from the thrill. Flipping him over, she straddled him and clenched her thighs tight around his waist. "Don't play fucking games with me, Jason Craft," she growled. "I'm not playing games, kitten. I just wanted to see that woman who makes my body ache.""Well, here she is. So, what are you going to do about it?"click here to downloadeXtasy Books

Welcome Guest Spotlight Author Stacy-Deanne

Welcome Guest author Stacy-Deanne!
Enjoy an interview with Brianna Morris, a character from "Giving up the Ghost". Here's a little snip to whet your appetite!
Albany Detective Brianna "Bree" Morris is having the year from hell. A sadistic admirer has been stalking her for months and now her friend Cheyenne Wilson has been beaten and left for dead. With her ex-lover and faithful partner, Steven Kemp, Bree thrusts herself into the case. It's not long before they believe two unrelated British men are connected to the attack. Michael is a womanizing artist with a ferocious appetite for rough sex. Simon is a wealthy free spirit looking for love in all the wrong places, but has one too many skeletons in his closet.Bree struggles to determine fact from fiction when it comes to Michael and Simon but her attempts are blurred by Michael's manipulation and her sexual attraction to Simon, who Steven's convinced cannot be trusted.Meanwhile the stalker does everything in his power to get close to Bree and his obsession evokes a spiral of violence.Bree must trust her heart to find answers but her heart leads her to the most dangerous man of all. This book sounds intriguing. The character, Bree, is pretty interesting herself, but don't take my word for it. See for yourself.Welcome, Bree!Tell us a little bit about your world. I'd love to! I'm Brianna Morris people call me "Bree" by the way. I'm a detective with the Albany Police Department. I work in the sex crimes unit where I investigate sexual assaults, rape, child molestation, etc. I am very tall at 6'0. I was born and raised in Albany. I am single, never been married and have a cat named Davis. I am not really looking for a man at the moment but if the right one comes along, I could be open. LOL! I'm very independent, a little stubborn and love to have things my way.  My last serious relationship was with my partner, Steven Kemp.
Does your author ever try to take over the story? And how do you deal with it?Stacy doesn't and that's what I love about working with her. It's the other characters that I am fighting with in terms of who takes over. LOL! What's so great about this series is that I don't think of myself as the main character even if I get the label. To me it's Steven and I starring in the series equally. I think the supporting cast is great and they make me look even better. LOL! It's fun to go through so many challenges in the plot and share experiences with other characters. So I enjoy sharing the spotlight.
Is humor important? Why or why not?
Definitely. My job is very hectic. My career is full of violence, terror and criminals. It's hard fighting crime. A sense of humor rescues me from all that. I might be a serious person when I am working but I love to laugh and have fun like most people.
Is expressing love difficult for you? Why?Goodness you had to ask that right? LOL! I guess, yes. Steven would say it definitely is. He thinks I have issues with commitment and I guess I do. I don't trust people easily and it's hard for me to give my heart to someone. I admit I've probably lost out on some great relationships for being stubborn but it's the only way I've known to be. I guess it comes from my upbringing. My dad left my mom and me when I was young and I guess that made me distrust men and getting too involved with them. So yes, I do have issues with expressing love but come on, who doesn't?
If you could pull your author into your world, what do you think would happen to them? Please Stacy wouldn't last a day in my world. LOL! She loves crime and mystery and solving cases but I don't think she'd love it in real life. She spends her time showcasing the exciting part of it but she doesn't know how boring or difficult it really can be to work on these cases. It can take months and months to solve a case and most times you can't solve them at all. I think she'd be too impatient for my world. But who knows, maybe she'd surprise us.
What other characters have influenced you?Cheyenne. For those who are familiar with the book "Melody" where some of us first appeared, they know that Cheyenne has been through a lot. She was raped and beaten in "Melody". In "Giving up the Ghost" she is attacked again and survives. What I admire so much about her is her spirit. She is always positive and keeps a smile on her face no matter what she's gone through. She helps me deal with things because when I see the strength she has, it makes me think I can accomplish anything.
Share a little bit of the 'real' you with our readers. Any Dark secrets?Okay, and I can't believe I am admitting this but I think Michael Buchanan is extremely sexy. I did get a vibe from him even though he disgusted me. A little part of me was curious of how he'd be sexually. If you wanna know why, read the book. LOL!
What motivates you to continue on these adventures? It's my job. I gotta pay the bills. LOL!
What is your most favorite thing to do?
I like to go out but because of my job, don't have much time to. I enjoy quiet evenings at home. My favorite things are curling up with a Harlequin romance, watching a black and white movie and sipping some wine.
What's the kinkiest thing you've done? Stupidest? Craziest?
So far it was that dance with Simon in the reggae club. Read the book to see why.
Thanks so much for having me! Get the book!

Have I ever mentioned how much I dislike FRIDAYS???
Yeah, I know, crazy right? Everyone LOVES Fridays because it's the day that launches the weekend.
Well that may be true, but here on Sealed with a Kiss, it also means we must say goodbye to our spotlight guest. This week brings THRICE the sadness as we bid farewell to the TRIAD!

Fortunately for us, they were generous enough to leave one small gift behind. Thank's everyone for a super week. The moment you all have new releases, please come back and hang out with us again!!

[image error] My story, Longing for a Normal State of Vertigo is a historical story involving a young doctor in search of love that's unique while still trying to make the next big discovery. In the most unbelievable situation, he will find what's he's looking for but at what price?
The publisher is allowing me to bring this story out  in long form.
Three books in one titled, Vertigo.

Longing for a Normal State of Vertigo. Michael Mandrake Sizzler Editions also at Amazon and B&NAmong the other great stories by Cecila Tan, M.Christian, Nix Winter, Kiernan Kelly, and others, editor Sacha Illyvich gave me the privilege to be part of this awesome gay sci-fi/paranormal anthology, Riding the Rocket.Excerpt:PG Excerpt Firmly, I shook his gloved palm with my own. "Good evening to you as well, Captain," I smirked. Hearing what he had said, I rolled my eyes. Every time the city morgue had something they did not want to bother with, they called me. All because I had made the mistake of announcing to everyone how bored I was with regular coroner work. Sometimes I wish I had taken the suggestion of an old friend who said I should go to America to start anew.  Nonetheless, I did not because I was so in love with Lawrence at the time. I knew he wanted nothing to do with leaving London, so I stayed here for him. Although I had gained some popularity with some of my latest discoveries, such as my attempt to develop a medicine to stop the aging process, I did not appreciate the second job that the department had thrust upon me as inspector of unexplained objects. "Captain Tiddle, Fine needs to grow thicker skin. What on earth is he an examiner for if he cannot handle…" The stench stopped me from continuing my statement. "What on God's green earth…" my nose twitched as the hairs tickled my nostrils. The closer I came to the covered body, I felt slightly nauseous. I grabbed my handkerchief from my coat, placing it over my nose and mouth.  The wind blew swifter as it continued drizzling. That did not deter the crowd that was held back by constables on horses who were eager to see what was under the sheet. "Alright, let's see what we've got here…" Slowly, I uncovered what looked to be wolf-like man. With the cloth still on my face, I traced its features with my other hand. The skin felt rough, hard as if it were decaying. As much as I wanted to take off the whole sheet, I decided to leave that until I returned to my laboratory. I put the covering back over it before getting up. The smell was not as strong when I knelt down to it so I put my rag back in my pocket. "Well Doctor, what do you think? Is it human, is it…" Captain Tiddle said. "Not sure Captain. I will just have to dissect it and see what happens. I have not seen anything like it either, though I have heard of some sightings out in the country. Well, I will phone you once I have something to discuss. Berrows!" Immediately he came with our wooden box ready to take our new project home. Burrows, not intimidated by anything, picked up the body and lowered it into the coffin, shutting it tight. Tiddle looked with eyes bulged, seemingly amazed at how my driver was not scared of what was under the sheet.

Is everyone enjoying the attack of the triad that infiltrated Sealed with a Kiss this week? They came, they saw and they've left behind a pile of happy readers, myself included!
Today will be no different as I am sure Rawiya will thrill a few hearts as she presents "Sugar Daddy", part of the  Who's Your Daddy Anthology.

[image error] A longer novella to come soon.
Blurb: A short story of a young man, Matthew Davidson, who is seeking the love of an older black man. When he goes to an internet dating site, he finds the man he's looking for but the ad calls for a black or Hispanic male. Interested, Matthew puts up the picture of his best friend, Devon Peartly who is Black. Now though, his chat buddy would like to meet him in person.

   Excerpt –  PG-13

"Baby, where did you put the extra towels?" Smiling , upon hearing my man's voice, "In the closet," I replied. "Okay, but maybe we should start putting everything away, so we can find things yes?"  The sound of his footsteps were behind me. I knew he was close. Within seconds, I felt that strong hand on my shoulder, gripping it, then the hot breath on my earlobe. I grinned, not turning around because his hardened flesh was grazing my buttocks, his hands encircling my waist, a soft purr escaped my lips. "Well, I wanted to finish putting it all away but I recall a certain man wanted to have fun last night as opposed to unpacking." "Aye…yes…indeed my love. This man required the warmth between your thighs. I could not allow you to continue working when I could be enjoying that spot down below." He kissed the side of my neck; the shivers went down my spine. "Mmhm…do you want to enjoy it some more," I asked before finally turning around to look into the deep brown orbs of my hot man, well not quite…yet. Sighing, taking my lips into his, "Yes, but is it not time for young Matthew to go to class?" Pouting, I drew up my lips, caressing the grey hairs of his goatee. "Yes, it is but, I thought maybe you would give me a reason to cut today especially since, we just moved into this place." Again, he gave me a peck, "Ahem, no, remember, I gave you the conditions of us moving in here would be that you would not miss school, yes? You need your education. That, my good man, always comes before everything." "Yes, daddy…but we can't break the rules just once?" I placed light nips along his jaw, causing his breaths to turn to pants. Slowly, I massaged the bulge in his trousers as I went further down his neckline. "Please, baby…once, yeah?" He cleared his throat while bringing me into him, making me feel his erection on the crotch of my jeans. "Matthew, you are irresistible. The only problem with allowing you to break the rules is that you will want to do…mmhmmm…" he stopped mid sentence when I began unbuttoning his silk shirt, exposing his chocolate skin. I wanted my sugar daddy, now. Forget about class, I was passing with honors anyway.     "Sugar Daddy" by Rawiya part of the "Who's Your Daddy" AnthologyRelease Date Summer 2011 – Available at http//starbookspress.com and  AmazonInterracial Gay Contemporary Romance
