Why Satisfaction is Better than HEA ~ with author, Palessa

Today’s post is a little late, but good things come to those who wait. Your patience will be rewarded when I turn Sealed with a Kiss over to today’s guest. Please help me welcome Palessa!!Palessa, honey, the floor is all yours…
I remembered someone posting a comment about how Unchained Hearts was somewhat HEA. It took me a minute to understand what that acronym meant. Happily Ever After is a concept that's proof of the Disney-ficationof our concept of life, death and everything in-between. Remember, we grew up thinking that the heroine was this perfect looking doll with a voice that could soothe lions and tigers and bears and the odd blue bird. She had this ethereal glow, was eternally nice and he was dashing, handsome on a white horse ready to kiss her back to life. While we've taken elements of that concept into our fantasies, there's definitely more to the story than harmonizing dwarfs and riding off into the sunset over the hill. So when someone comments that my story is somewhat HEA, I like that because he truth is, I don't really believe in HEA (as you could probably gather) and here's why:There's no such thing as forever - I heard this from a divorce lawyer of all people and I couldn't help but acknowledge the truth of it. He said, and I'm paraphrasing: There really is no such thing as forever in marriage or love relationship. Someone either leaves on their legs or their back. It might seem harsh, but it's true. Human life is ephemeral and in a relationship someone always leaves; it's just a matter of how. The lesson here is to just go for it. Take a chance, be bold and open because there is no such thing as forever.Life is like a weaving of strings - Love is just one string of many and it makes no sense to be perfect. It will never be as smooth as you like it or as clean as you think it should be or as easy as you want it to be. The perfect love is a myth. You will have some scars, scratches and scrapes (I'm not talking about physical abuse here because any kind of abuse in intolerable). S/he has a lot of things influencing his or her life at any given moment so love is never about that one thing going perfectly.Love/Like has its time: A friend of mine posted a saying that love comes in three categories, Love for a reason, love for a season, and love for a lifetime.  There are times when the loves that come into our lives are more like the first two than the third and I say "great" (of course I say this afterwards because while you're going through it, great is the last thing you're feeling). Sometimes you just need to see yourself through someone else's eyes for a while to get another perspective as well as, maybe, a clearer picture. So what do I believe in?Yeah, that last part kind of begs the question, doesn't it? Especially since I tend to skew towards the romantic arena. I believe in that love that comes from the soul. I'm talking about the kind that transcends looks in a superficial way. Now, it may start out as admiring a physical trait but it evolves into that deeper calling that awakens you to all sorts of possibilities.I believe in love unexpected. It's amazing how when you meet someone and think they're just great but when you get to know him, the bloom falls flat and with a thud. Whereas that woman you keep chatting with blows you away the more she speaks. We all have this idea of who our mate is but when you see them, they're not really in the form you expect so you may discard them at first. Then when it hits you, it throws you for a loop.I believe in love that's tested: If you've read Unchained Hearts, you know that Cass & Virgilia as well as Brandon and Kyle were tested by circumstances that did pull them a part. But somehow they found their way back to each other and were stronger than ever. Now, I'm not necessarily talking about anything as dramatic as Joan or Soraya but there's always going to be something that wants you apart. How you handle it can make a difference between a strong bond and a broken one.Lastly, I believe in satisfaction: At the end of the day, I do believe in a satisfying ending. We all want them, we need them because reality just sucks and we need to escape for a bit. Those are the reasons we read and write fiction. But my objective is to try to write a good story and have the moment I've been sharing with the reader come to some point of satisfaction. Will they ride off into the sunset? Maybe. Some will, some won't but there will always be that question mark hanging over that final moment; there has to be.Remember, it's never perfect or clean. It's just good to let characters and the readers breathe in that moment of satisfaction.
Speaking of imperfect moments, here's a teaser from Unchained Hearts: Love is tested

Featured Title: Through the Dom's Lens by Doris O'Connor

Welcome my lovelies! There’s little doubt that today’s guest has to be one of my favorites, and definitely one of my naughtiest!Doris O’Connor hits a homerun every time she steps up to bat here on Sealed with a Kiss, and this visit will be no different.Grab a cup of coffee, tea, or whatever floats your boat, kick back, and let’s get busy.
Doris O’Connor, my beautiful friend, by all means, take it away…

Thanks so much for having me here today JI read an interesting article recently, about what Men really see when they look at you, and you could sum it up as such.Whatever you don't like about yourself, chances are your man loves it, because it makes you unique. Add to that my gran's saying that men want something to hold onto when they fuck… (Yes, she really did say that to me, when I was modelling back in Germany and starving myself to be skinny.)… and I do wonder why so many of us struggle to just accept what and who we are.Sure there will be men, who prefer skinny women, just like there will be men who prefer curvy ones, and plenty of other themes in-between. We all have a type we go for after all. Here comes another saying from my dear gran. For every pot there is a lid. In other words there's someone out there for everyone. Sometimes you just need to kiss some frogs before you find your prince. Now, in Sally's case she kissed one rather ugly frog that made her not only wary of men, but means she hates her picture taken. Add to that the fact that she really wants to experience the lifestyle, and it narrows the field even more. So, when her sister asks her to step in for her at this photo shoot, she can’t resist temptation, even though she is full of self-doubt and apprehension. It falls to Master J to convince her that she is exactly who he's been looking for…

Sometimes doing a favor can change your life forever.
Never one to rate her curves, Sally thinks her glamorous sister has lost the plot. Stand in for her at a photo shoot with the most sought after bondage photographer ever? She'll be laughed out of the studio, or arrested, or both. However, the temptation to actually meet the man she's been secretly lusting after for months proves too hard to resist.Junsako cannot believe his eyes, when Sally turns up. It's been a long time since the Dom in him felt such an instant pull to anyone. All those curves will look beautiful in Shibari suspension, and Sally proves to be a born submissive. If only she would let go of her body issues and see the beautiful woman he sees through his lens. Only one thing to do—convince her—with as much kinky sex as possible.
Warning: Adult Content!!
Excerpt:"I want you to do something for me, pet. I want you to close your eyes and remember that feeling."She frowned at him, but her eyes fluttered shut and after a while she smiled."Good, you're there in your mind?""Yes, Sir, I think so.""Good girl, now open your eyes and look at the screen again." She tensed immediately and her smile slipped, but she did open her eyes and glanced at the screen. He'd changed the image to a slide of the process of her being bound. The first one showed her stood in front of him, looking nervous as hell, and she tensed even more when she saw it."What do you see, pet? Truly look at the picture, past the body, concentrate on your facial expression and remember how you felt."She bit her lip, and her nose screwed up in concentration, but eventually she answered him."I was nervous…" she glanced at him and then continued in a whisper, "and turned on.""Good girl, now the next picture. What do you see?"In this shot she was half in her chest harness and blindfold, and Junsako hardened as he, too, remembered the heady thrill of binding her soft flesh in the rope. The picture didn’t do the eroticism of the art justice. In his mind's eye, however, he heard her soft sighs and mewls, he felt the rope slide through his fingers and mark her skin, as she sank further into that blissful state of submission.Sally remembered it, too, if her increased breathing and the dampness seeping through his sweat pants were any indication. He didn't say anything else, afraid to break the moment, just continued to bring up picture after picture, until she wriggled on his lap, and he was hard enough to pound concrete again.By the time they were back at the picture he intended to use, tears were falling down Sally's cheeks, but she was smiling this time."Thank you, Sir, for helping me remember what it felt like. I still see a fat woman, though. I know I'm not skinny and … oh."The breath whooshed out of her lungs when he stood up with her and flung her over his shoulder. It was a matter of moments to cross the distance to his bedroom, and Sally shrieked when he threw her on the bed face down. Before she had even stopped bouncing he grabbed her ankles and yanked her down until her ass hung over the edge with her knees on the floor. He kicked her legs apart, and took a moment to admire the view in front of him. With a flick of the remote he turned on the ceiling spotlights. The soft lighting illuminated Sally's shapely ass. With her legs spread wide, he had a perfect view of her glistening pussy. Her cunt got wetter the longer he just stood there and watched her, and when she tried to push herself up on her elbows he urged her back down on the bed with his hand flat on the small of her back."Stay still, pet. It amuses me to watch you like this. You have the most perfect ass, my love. It will look even more beautiful when it's pink from my hand."Sally whimpered, and more of her juices slipped out of her clenching hole. "I'm going to spank that ass now, and then I'm going to fuck it.  My little pet will like that, I think. Give me a color, pet."****Sally's heart beat so fast in her ears she was sure she'd have fallen to the floor had she not been lying down already. Junsako's dirty words made her so wet her juices were sliding down her inner thighs, and she found it difficult to concentrate on his words. An open handed spank to her left ass cheek stung, and before she could open her mouth another one followed to the right side this time."I asked you a question, pet. What color are you?""Gr-green." She murmured the words into the cover, as he dug his fingernails into her tender skin and grabbed a generous handful. That should have mortified her, but somehow it didn't."I can't hear you, pet."His strained voice soothed her concerns. He sounded like a man aroused, and it gave her an enormous thrill that he wanted her just as badly as she wanted him. "Green, Sir. I'm so green. Please don't stop. I—"The next spank set her ass on fire and sent her further up the bed, until her hips dug into the edge. It was padded, with little hard nobbles, and just the right height to stimulate her clit, as she discovered with the next few well-placed open handed swats from his hands. He hit a different spot on her ass every time, and with the added stimulation from the torture devices attached to the side, she was close to coming in record time.Higher and higher she flew until time lost all meaning, and all that mattered was the breathtaking pause before he spanked her again. When he finally stopped heat radiated from her ass all over her body in rolling waves of bliss, and she ground herself against the edge. So close, she was so damn close.Junsako grabbed her hips and pulled her away from the bed, and Sally whined her protest. He kissed her shoulder, and chuckled into her neck, as his whole body seemed to engulf her. His hard cock nestled in the cleft of her ass, and he delivered little bites along her back, parallel to her spine. Every sharp sting made her moan, interspersed as it was by his murmured words."So beautiful, my pet. This luscious body belongs to me, and you will not come without my permission, will you, pet?"

Glutton for punishment would be a good description for Doris... at least that's what she hears on an almost daily basis when people find out that she has a brood of nine children, ranging from adult to toddler and lives happily in a far too small house, cluttered with children, pets, dust bunnies, and one very understanding and supportive husband. Domestic goddess she is not. There is always something better to do after all, like working on the latest manuscript and trying not to scare the locals even more than usual by talking out loud to the voices in her head. Her characters tend to be pretty insistent to get their stories told, and you will find Doris burning the midnight oil on a regular basis. Only time to get any peace and quiet and besides, sleep is for wimps. She likes to spin sensual, sassy, and sexy tales involving alpha heroes to die for, and heroines who give as good as they get. From contemporary to paranormal, BDSM to F/F, and Ménage, haunting love stories are guaranteed.

Book Blast: Captivated by Stacy-Deanne

Welcome everyone!! Stacey-Deanne is back, and she’s blazing a trail around “Blog World” to get the word out about her latest release, Captivated!!We won’t hold you captive by making you wait for a sneak peek, so let’s set this party on blast!!
When she first lays eyes on Mya Riley’s slashed up body, Baltimore Detective Lisa Swanson is certain that the Sandman, a ruthless serial killer from her past has reemerged. Lisa dives headfirst into the case with her partner Dee, and lovesick Winston Lewis, a detective who grows more captivated with Lisa by the day. The Sandman wreaks bloodthirsty havoc throughout the city, and this time he is determined to make Lisa his victim. Armed with intense hatred for the Sandman and a stifling fear of who might end up dead next, Lisa struggles to solve the case by the book. But when the Sandman switches up his plan and goes after her lover Jake…Lisa ignores allthe rules.

Excerpt from Captivated:
“There’s a song stuck in my head.” He hummed it. “I was listening to it earlier but can’t think of the name.” He swayed Lisa while he hummed. “It’s been a while since we danced.” He twirled them around in circles.Lisa laughed. “Whoa! You’re putting all the moves on me.”“You always like it when I do this.” He lifted the front of his wheelchair off the floor and came back down. “You like that, huh?”“Whoa!” She laughed. “You’re right. It’s been a while since we went dancing.” She put her hand in his as he swerved them across the kitchen. “So we can go dancing then.” She lifted her head from his shoulder. “We could both use a break, don’t you think?” She played with a button on his shirt. “We can go to the Rush.”He rolled his eyes. “How come we always go to the wheelchair nightclubs?”“I thought it was your favorite place. I just want you to be comfortable.”“I want us to go dancing for real.” He laid his arm on the armrest. “I used to love dancing.” He got teary-eyed. “I miss that the most.”She kissed his hand.“I wanna take you dancing like a real man would.”“You are a real man.” She got off him. “And we can dance the regular way right here.”He got a paper towel off the table and dabbed his eyes. “What are you talking about?”She went across to the living room and turned on the stereo in the entertainment system.“Okay, let’s find something good.” She stopped on her favorite station that played old-school slow jams. The sultry beginning of Aaliyah’s “Rock the Boat” began. “Uh-huh.” Lisa bobbed her head. “That’s what I’m talking about.” She shimmied back into the kitchen.“I love this song.” Jake tossed the paper towel on the table.Lisa stood in front of him and held out her hands. “May I have this dance?”“What?” he whispered. She bent down. “You said you wanted to dance the real way. Let’s dance the real way.”“You know my legs are too weak.”She took his hands. “Then lean on me.”He took a deep breath and slowly rose from the chair. “Oh.”“It’s okay.” She put her arms around him. “I got you.”He stood straight and put his weight on Lisa. “I’m six three and two hundred pounds.” He leaned on her. “I’m gonna crush you.”“I’m stronger than you think.” She laid her head on his chest. “Just take it slow and relax.”He stumbled a bit then picked up his feet in perfect rhythm.“Wow.” Lisa held him tighter. “You’re a smooth dancer, Jake.”His lips brushed her cheek. “This feels amazing.” He swayed. “Just like the old days.”“See?” She moved her hand up his back. “Now you’re leading.” She lifted her head. “How does it feel?”“I…” His voice cracked. “I haven’t danced since two thousand eight.”“Well, you’re dancing now.” She kissed him. “And you’re doing it beautifully.”

Be sure to say hello, and don't forget an email address, because one lucky person who leaves a comment will be eligible for a drawing for a free copy of Cowboy of Her Heart!!

Honor, take it away…

Valentine’s Day should be about the emotion, the love between two people, not spending money. And that is the philosophy Grant Franklyn lives by. It would be more effective if he had that special someone in his life, but unfortunately the only woman he wants nothing to do with him.Jacqueline Hunter is all for falling in love and has already lost her heart. Unfortunately the object of her affection doesn’t realize she exists—unless he is trying to get on her last nerve. When she's stuck at Grant Franklyn’s farm after a freak snow storm, whatever is a girl to do? Jacqueline has some naughty ideas, but can she get Grant on board?
Excerpt:Jackie had been having the worst morning of her life.  Valentine’s Day was less than a week away, and she had to fend off yet another setup from one of her friends.  She didn’t want to be set up, didn’t they get that? But oh, no, everyone saw her as a single woman in Texas, heaven for-freaking-bid that she remain single.  So far this morning she had fended off three match-making attempts and one idiot who brought her flowers and a ring, someone she didn’t even freaking know! Gripping the steering wheel so hard her knuckles were white, she spoke into her truck’s Bluetooth receiver.  “Listen, Marilyn.  I really appreciate you trying to ensure that I don’t spend the rest of my life alone.”  She was only thirty for the love of God!  “But having Dale Buck come by today and ask me to marry him? That was low,” she said.  “He did what?” The woman’s voice came through the phone, shock evident.  “I’m gonna beat that boy with a horse whip,” she muttered.  “He did,” Jackie said as she whipped into a parking space and then groaned.  Of freaking course! Of course, Grant, too freaking hunky for his own good, Franklyn was there, parked in the only spot open on the street near her shop.  “Gotta go, Marilyn.  Please, please tell your bridge partners, players, whatever they are, that I’m over the being set up.  I can find my own love interests, thank you very much.”  She turned off the truck and added, “Gotta go.  Dawn Merlot is stopping by today for color and cut and you know how she is if I’m not on time.”  Without waiting another moment, she disconnected the phone.  Tapping her forehead on her steering wheel, she sighed and shook her head.  “God bless America,” she grumbled as she opened the door, and in her frustration, flung it open far harder than she had intended to.  “Crap on a freaking cracker,” she said as she heard the distinctive crunch of metal on metal.  “Son of a bitch, he’s going to have a kitten.” Everyone and their brothers knew that Grant Franklyn thought more of Matilda than any other thing in the world, even if she was a freaking truck.  Grabbing a notepad, she wrote a quick note and stuck it under the windshield wiper and ran for her shop.  She was ever so hopeful that he would just let it go since it was her.  Another thing everyone and their brother knew was that she was his least favorite being in the entire world.  The word hate often came up when people linked their names together.  She bet the bridge crew that was trying to set her up would have heart attacks if they knew she had the hots for the ranch owner.  Yep.  Best to keep the word hate between them or someone would try to get the two of them together, and that was something she didn’t want.  Not that she didn’t want him, but she didn’t want him to be forced.  Yep, she was a weirdo.  After getting everything set up, she greeted Dawn as she entered, and the woman immediately began to gush the latest gossip, to which Jackie gave the necessary nods and sounds of agreement.  Yeah, wonderful.  Jackie paused and looked at Dawn.  "Hold the phone, sugar.  Mind repeating that last bit there?” she asked with a distinct sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach.  She had to have heard wrong, prayed she had heard wrong.  “I was just saying that everyone is trying to figure out why you aren’t married yet.  The only thing anyone has been able to come up with so far is that maybe you’re gay.  It’s okay.  We will still love you, but don’t be surprised if some of the older women don’t come back to your shop.  You know,” she leaned in and whispered, “The older ones that aren’t as hip with today’s young people.” Her temper was simmering and getting ready to boil.  She was ready to cuss those old bitches out, and if she did, her momma would roll in her grave.  So instead Jackie counted backwards from ten, in Latin.  When she was a little calmer, she politely said, “And I keep telling everyone that my love life is none of their concern.  Please make sure to pass that around?” Pulling off her gloves, Jackie finished the styling for Dawn and then groaned when none other than Grant freaking Franklyn walked into her salon.  “Hang on a sec, Sug,” she said and patted Dawn’s shoulder.  Walking toward Grant, she asked, “Can I help you, Mr. Franklyn?”

Rock Star Ex by Jewel Quinlan is Now Available in Audiobook Version

Jewel Quinlan visited us a short while ago, and today she’s back woth a special treat … an audio book! That’s a first here at Sealed with a Kiss and it’s kinda awesome, huh? Audio books are a great way to pass the time when you’re stuck in traffic or waiting at the dentist’s office. As spring dares to peek through the polar vortex that’s held us all captive, thoughts of relaxing in a hammock on a breezy afternoon, eyes closed, and letting your mind travel into the world of a romance novel, sounds pretty great right about now.Check out Rock Star Ex, then add it to your collection.
Social media consultant, Eve Everett, is less than thrilled when her business partner hooks them up with a job covering celebrity rock band Arsenal.  Their new lead singer, Devon Quinn, is the man who broke her heart five years ago.  But there’s no way Eve can turn down the assignment. It’s the big break their fledgling company needs.  To boost Arsenal’s social media presence the band’s manager wants intimate coverage, especially of Devon,  which means traveling with the band  in their tour bus while they promote their new album.  It’s not long before Devon tries to rehash the past but Eve would rather leave it buried where it is. When Eve is asked to be part of a music video, she decides it’s a great opportunity to reap some revenge by showing Devon what he’s missing. But soon she’s the one losing control. Will Devon once again claim her heart as well as her body?
Excerpt:“It’s good to see you again, Eve,” he said softly so the others wouldn’t pick up on it.  He knew she wouldn’t want to hear it.  It couldn’t be helped, but it just had to be said.          Her head snapped up, eyes wide.          “That’s what I wanted to say the other night, but you didn’t give me a chance.”          Big mistake.            Her eyes narrowed.  “I didn’t give you a chance?  Then I’d say we’re even.”          “Look, Eve, things didn’t happen the way you’re thinking.  It wasn’t like that.”  He set the bottom of Tommy’s guitar on the floor, his hand on the neck, and leaned closer in to talk to her.          “The way I’m thinking?” she repeated.  Standing up straight, she stuck one foot out to the side and said in a low hiss, “Look, Devon, the facts are the facts.  You left and I never heard from you again.  Not once.  It has nothing to do with the way I’m thinking.”            He tensed.  It was happening again.  She was misunderstanding him.  “No, look, that’s not what I mean, okay?”          “Oh, then what do you mean?”  She cocked her head at him and waited.          “It’s…it was hard on the road, to keep in touch with anyone, for a lot of reasons.  You don’t know what it was like.  I mean we were bouncing around from place to place, driving for long periods of time and then having to work until really late at night.  It was pretty much impossible to communicate.  Besides, you had no answering machine back then, remember?”          She visibly puffed up.  “I see, so it’s my fault you couldn’t communicate with me?”          “I’m not saying it was anyone’s fault, Eve.  Just that there was no way to call.”  He felt relieved.  He had finally been able to tell her, to explain.  Maybe now she would understand.  Well, when she calmed down at least.          “And you couldn’t write a letter?”   She spoke quietly but the words dripped acid.            She had him there.  Even though she was several inches shorter he suddenly felt very small.  He looked down and stuck a hand in his pocket, not knowing what to say.  That was an even more complicated topic.          Her cold eyes were on him.  The silence stretched on for another moment.  Before he could gather any other words to try to explain she turned and headed back up front, her ponytail slapping him in the face as she went.

It’s Valentine’s Day, my lovelies! Some aren’t so thrilled about this particular date on the calendar, but for those people who have someone to canoodle with, it’s sure to be a pretty happy day.Whether you have romantic plans or not, having a good book on hand is a great idea.We can sure help you out with that… and if we had chocolate we’d darn sure include it, but since we don’t, we hope you brought your own. If not, today’s guest, Elodie Parkes, has brought something to nibble on instead.Take it away, Elodie…                                               Thank you for inviting me to the blog today with my new release romance books.
The Flower Box and Candy Hearts, are released very close together, February 7 and 14 by Hot Ink Press.Contemporary, erotic romance, and without my usual twist of paranormal, fantasy or magic, I’ve enjoyed writing these love stories. They are both Valentine’s Day oriented stories, but can be read anytime. Although they fit into the category of erotic romance, because the bedroom door is open, they are classic romance stories with happy endings.

The Flower Box (February 7) Novella
Alice longs for love. Oliver wants to give her flowers and candy until he thinks she has another lover. Will his jealously drive him away from Alice or straight into her arms?
Candy Hearts (February 14) a Hot Ink Single
Tom found a new job, but can he find love? Working in a surf coast hotel seems like the remedy for his previous unhappiness, but as Valentine’s Day approaches, Tom realizes he’s lonely, and looks around for someone to love.

Let’s meet two of her yummy characters, Oliverand Tom.Oliver stars in The Flower Box and Tom in Candy Hearts
Oliver, tell us something about Alice, how would you describe her in a few words?Alice is just great. She’s the love of my life so I’m biased in my opinion I guess you know. She’s brave, capable, and independent. She likes the park and water. She’s very pretty, slender, intelligent, kind, and generous, and she treats everyone and thing well. She’s great at her job and runs her own business. She’s sexy. (He grins)
Tom, describe your loved one in a few words. (Tom’s asked us not to give away her name, when you read the story you’ll know why)Very sexy, giving, clever, thoughtful, a great lover, knows what she wants or needs to do and goes for it. She’s full of surprises, she loves me, and she works hard at her jobs. I couldn’t live without her now.
So guystell the readers about how you met the leading ladies in your stories.
Tom: I met my love in a coffee shop. She was a waitress. On one occasion, she gave me a look that nearly melted the chair I was sitting on besides parts of me touching it. (laughs)
Oliver: I met her in person in a flower and candy shop. I’d seen her before but not close up.
Can you describe when you first knew you were in love?Oliver tell us about when you knew you loved Alice. It might be a spoiler if I told all. I thought I’d lost her, that woke me up with a jolt. (smiles)
What about you, Tom?It was hard to let myself fall in love, I think I loved her very soon though and just pushed it away.
Is there anything you would have changed about the story, your name, job, story setting, anything?
Tom: I’ve never thought about that. I don’t mind my name and in the story I get to change jobs. I used to hate what I did so that was great. The setting goes with the job, and is a cool place, I think.
Oliver: I like my name. I love my job. It’s not what I set out to do when I went to college, but it’s great. The setting for the story wouldn’t be able to change, that’s where I work and where Alice works, and where we live, plus it’s a cool city. (smiles)
Will each of you choose an excerpt from the story that you enjoy?
Oliver: Is there a rating level on your blog? Mine has to be a love scene.
Tom: Mine too. (laughs)
Just choose what you want, and thank you both for coming along today.
Oliver: Thank you. It’s been fun.
Tom: I’ve enjoyed meeting you, so thank you.

*****Five behind the scenes facts from Elodie about The Flower Box and Candy Hearts1.     Candy Hearts was originally going to be titled, A Piece of my Heart. I changed it as I realized the importance of the hearts in the story.2.     Amber Tom’s ex in Candy Hearts was originally called Susie. Then I realized there’s a Susie in my book The Winter Girl.3.     The Flower Box was originally titled, A Random act of Kindness and then I decided it wasn’t a very hot title for an erotic romance. 4.     I very nearly had a male rival for Oliver in, The Flower Box and then decided it wasn’t much of a twist and I do like my twists so I changed the story.5.     I designed five covers for The Flower Box and couldn’t decide which one I liked best. Even now, I’m not convinced I chose the one with the right color scheme. I always do that to myself, design heaps of graphics, and then can’t choose. (laughs)
***** From Candy Hearts 18+She watched him closely.Tom saw her gaze trace his mouth, then his body. The atmosphere between them charged as she broadcast attraction signals. He edged his hand along the tabletop so that he might touch hers when she reached for her water glass. It happened as they stared at each other.Tom’s cock hardened as the prickle of desire flew along his arm from her touch. He saw her eyes darken and she leaned into him. He took hold of her hand then, locking fingers with hers. He had to kiss her. He raised his other hand, slid it gently along her cheek, and brought her head to his.The kiss was devastatingly sexy. His cock, rock hard now, pushed at his suit pants. Sky’s lips parted for his tongue. He kissed her, and the steady hum of the restaurant guests’ chatter receded. Surrounded by the scent of her silky hair and softness of her skin, Tom took his time. He held her head to his until he felt her try to move from the kiss, away from him. He let her end the kiss, but he tightened his grip on her hand. As he lifted his head he realized their food had arrived and the server waited by the table for them to end the kiss. He smiled and let go of her hand. She smiled too leaning back so that the plate could be placed on the table in front of her.As they ate little bites of their steaks, Tom again asked for her real name.He swallowed. “I’d love to know your name. Seriously, after that kiss, I can’t keep calling you Sky.” He saw her hesitate, and then she answered.

***** Excerpt From The Flower Box 18+She pressed her neck against his face as he sucked. He pulled her skirt up around her waist and kissed up to her ear. “I want you,” he whispered into her ear and she gasped. Oliver pushed her pantyhose down around her thighs. He kissed her lips, and felt her part them to moan as he slid his hand between her legs. She was wet and his cock jerked. His breath came in short gasps as he pushed two fingers into her pussy. The feel of her inner muscles around his fingers sent a spike of sensation through his cock. He thought he’d come right then as his hips thrust in response to her opening her legs wider for his hand. He murmured against her mouth. “You feel so good. I can’t wait to get you home.”Alice kissed him. “Let’s go. I’m desperate for you.”Her words made his cock leak. He wondered if he could make it to her car. He took his fingers from her pussy and lingered with his fingertips against her clit. She held his shoulders and kissed him hard.Oliver took his fingers from her clit and rested his face against hers. “Sorry, Alice, does anyone else use this path?”Her voice was low as she answered against his cheek. “Not usually.”He hugged her. “That’s good.” He moved from her She made a little sound as he pulled her pantyhose up.He held her face and kissed her tenderly. “Let’s go.” *****Buy links : The Flower Box at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Flower-Box-Elodie-Parkes-ebook/dp/B00IA7OUWO/

Today's Feature: Stealing Cupid's Bow by Jewel Quinlan

Welcome, my lovelies.Today we have Jewel Quinlan and her book, Stealing Cupid’s Bow.Let’s get to know Jewel, and have a little taste of her yummy story, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Recently heartbroken, Raine Daniels arrives home in Las Vegas, Nevada, to help with her parents’ fortieth anniversary party only to discover they are planning to separate as soon as the last guest walks out the door. Everything she thought she knew—her very foundation is rocked to the core. When she learns that Alexander, the sexy stranger she’d sat next to on the plane, is really the god of love, Cupid—she asks for his help, but he declines. The god of love, now long divorced from Psyche and living on earth among mortals, no longer believes in love.Raine decides to take matters into her own hands, even if a god tells her she’s wrong.  With her life falling apart around her and the solution seemingly within her reach she dares to try and make everything better. Unfortunately, she’s unprepared for the consequences of stealing Cupid’s bow …

Enjoy the following excerpt for Stealing Cupid’s Bow:
From the corner of her eye, the back of a blond head, paired with broad, strong shoulders, caught her attention. She knew who it was instantly.Alexander was walking up ahead of them in the same direction. Her entire being zeroed in on him at once and she felt her pulse spike.Jane was saying something to her, but all of her attention was tied up with trying to see his face. He’d moved off to the side now, and it looked as though he was watching someone intently. Actually, a couple of someones—a man and a woman. On the surface it looked like he was strolling along casually, but she could not mistake the intensity of his gaze on them. It seemed almost…predatory. Was he following them? Both her mom and her aunt walked so slowly it was almost an agony for her. She didn’t want to lose sight of him. But there was nothing she could do. If she tried to make them hurry, it would spark questions from all three. And the most likely result of her telling them why would be her mother flagging Alexander down in a loud voice, which would be embarrassing.Jane continued to chatter away, but Raine still couldn’t focus on her cousin.Up ahead she saw that the man and woman had stopped next to a fountain. The man was saying something. From the look they shared, it seemed to be one of those special moments. Alexander stopped, too. He was leaning casually against a pillar watching the couple. The man Alexander watched sank down on one knee while retrieving something from his pants pocket.Alexander changed his stance at the same time. Out of nowhere a bow appeared in his hands. He quickly notched an arrow from the right side of the quiver on his back. He drew and took aim, gazing along the shaft of the arrow. From what she could see there was only one target apparent in that direction: the woman. As he released the arrow, a scream rose from within her, but the sound caught in her throat. The gleaming shaft streaked across the space and sunk deep into the woman’s chest, emitting a shower of golden sparks on impact. A second arrow struck the man as well and another cloud of gold erupted. She stopped walking and, since their arms were linked together, Jane did, too.“Did you see that?” Raine asked.Jane glanced at her. “See what?”She pointed in the direction and her cousin peered up ahead.“What is it, Raine?”Her cousin wasn’t reacting at all and neither had either of their mothers. And none of the people that had passed right by the scene of the crime were disturbed. She looked again at the couple, afraid of what she might see…and blinked. There was no blood. No body lay on the floor. No arrow shaft stuck out from either of them. Quite the opposite. The woman was unharmed and glowing with happiness. She had accepted the ring and the man was now swinging her around in joy.“Did you mean the couple getting engaged?” Jane asked. “Oh yes, it happens all the time here.”Raine was stunned. Her eyes found their way back to Alexander.

Lynked by Bethany-Kris

Welcome back to Sealed with a Kiss!!Bethany-Kris has returned to share a little somethin’ somethin’ from her latest release, Lynked. Check this out…
What do you get when you mix a former MMA fighter who won’t take no for an answer and a girl hellbent on keeping her reputation squeaky clean? Well, you get Devon and Nic. This hero and heroine of mine seem to like to make things difficult between them. Denying their chemistry and attraction is damned near impossible, but Nic is insistent on keeping it that way. Once was enough, in her opinion. It doesn’t matter that she likes him—likes Devon a lot—her brother is one of his best fighters, and it just wouldn’t look good on Devon, her brother, or her. And while she’s making all the excuses why she shouldn’t be with him, Devon is listing all the reasons why she should. He doesn’t care what other people think, never mind the police investigating his business for illegal gambling. He just wants Nic. Now, he needs to convince her. He’d give up everything to keep her, in fact he did. But will she still be waiting on the other side when it’s over?
When a fighter’s path crosses with a beautiful woman, he’s positive the meeting will only end in her leaving his penthouse with sex hair and a smile—until life and the law steps in, inevitably linking their futures forever. The accident that ended his fighting career wasn’t enough to keep former heavyweight mixed martial arts champion Devon Lynk out of the sport. His new business, Chaine Lynk, an exclusive fighting company, has made him millions through illegal gambling. Happy with his life, he never suspected it could be his downfall ... until the morning after leads to something so much more than he expected, and he’s left with the weight of guilt and responsibility on his shoulders. Veronica “Nic” Stacey made her way to Edmonton with the intention of starting life anew, but her first night in the city lands her in a stranger’s bed and things don’t quite go as planned. Waking up to find out her brother is in jail is one thing, but learning the man she slept with is also his boss is another matter altogether. With no knowledge of the city and nowhere to go, she’s left taking the only help offered: Devon’s.With Chaine Lynk’s doors closed and Devon facing possible jail time for his involvement, reality takes a front row seat. Love and lust intermingle as he comes to learn what his business and choices have cost the girl he wants most—now he just has to fix it. But is it already too late?
Excerpt: “What is your name, pretty girl?” *Something sinful crawled over every nerve Nic had in the best way at the voice in her ear. She couldn’t not respond to the hand suddenly holding tight to her waist. The heat of the man’s palm soaked straight through the fabric of her dress and seeped into her skin in the best way. She swore it travelled over her flesh with a tingling dance that had her burning hot instantly. Shooting him with a simpering grin, Nic turned her head just enough to check him out. Tall and well dressed with broad shoulders, a muscled frame, and hazel eyes that seemed to pierce right into her soul, Nic was stunned for a second. The dark color of his skin stood out against the cream color of her dress and his fingers tightened, making her breath catch. Handsome was an understatement. This man was downright gorgeous in a way that made her pulse pick up and her sex ache. There was a faint grin playing on his full lips and her gaze was drawn down to his hand still holding firm to her waist like it belonged there. No one had so blatantly approached her like he had throughout the night, not to mention physically touched her.Actually, this man was the first to ever do that at all and not get an instant rejection. Maybe it should have bothered Nic, but instead she found herself curious as to why he had approached her. After all, she hadn’t been actively trying to invite attention her way. “Your name?” he asked again. The roughness in his voice was almost mesmerizing. The flecks of green in his eyes seemed to dance under the lights, sparkling with suggestion and want. “Nic.” “What are your plans in the next five minutes?” Nic turned to look back at the fight. The man did the same, watching as Jordan locked down hard to his opponent, pinning him to the mat with a chokehold that looked like it must have hurt. She’d thought seeing Jordan fight would turn her inside out with worry, but instead, Nic only found herself proud. Maybe making the choice to come to Alberta had been the right one after all. Change was supposed to be a good thing, right? “That depends,” she finally answered. “On what?” Once more, she met his gaze, feeling his hand gripping tightly to her waist and wanting to become lost in just the sensation of that action alone. Nic could feel her body wanting to press harder into his grip. Never had her insides reacted so strongly to another person. He didn’t let up a bit. Haze yielded behind them, tapping out hard against the mat. People started to cheer as their hands hit the cage. Jordan’s name rang out in the crowd louder and louder. “On that.” Her brother won. The tuition was all but paid now. Do something different. Those words rung in her mind like a toll bell. What would it hurt to go home with this man?Nic wondered. Who would know what she had done? There wouldn’t be a soul to say anything bad. There would be no one judging her like they did back home. He clearly wasn’t a fighter if his clothing and attitude were any indication, so she was still following along with her brother’s only request. What could it really hurt? Nothing. She was grown. Jordan would be celebrating his win. A single phone call to let him know she was fine would be enough until the morning. “Come home with me,” he said, his eyes seeming to search hers for any sign of indecision. Nic laughed an airy sound. “I don’t even know you.” “I don’t bite.” “Maybe I’d like that, though.” “All right, I bite a little,” he teased. She could easily say no, but she didn’t want to. That should have scared her. Whatever influence this man seemed to have on her was one she hadn’t experienced before. Nic was the rational one; a person who didn’t make irresponsible choices that would shine her in a bad light. Straight and narrow; white as a dove. Whoever this man was, he made her want to jump headfirst into the filth of sin without even thinking of possible consequences. “Married?” he asked. “Nope.” “Escort?” The face she made must have given away how she felt about that comment. “Sorry,” he said.Again, his mouth came dangerously close to her face, lips ghosting over the shell of her ear. Heat saturated Nic all over again and she shivered. Who was this man? She didn’t even care that his name had yet to be uttered. She wet her tongue with her lips.“Come home with me,” he repeated, his voice turning down to a husky tone. Nic bit her lip, her eyebrow rising in contemplation. “You’ll get me home in the morning?” “In a private jet if you want, sweetheart; just say yes.” “Yes.”

Alpha's Claim Anthology featuring "Dance for Me, Princess" by Elyzabeth M. VaLey

Welcome back, my lovelies!!We’re continuing the Alpha’s Claim Anthology today with another author who’s stopped by before, and we’re so glad she’s returned. Get to know Elizabeth VaLey and check out her contribution to the antho, Dance for Me, Princess
Many of my stories wouldn’t have been born without music. The beautiful, harmonious combination of notes, regardless of the musical genre, appeal to my muse and have sparked the beginning of more than one romance. Sometimes, the music comes first, but other times it appears half way through the story. Dance for me, Princess was an example of the latter. I knew the characters and I was simply looking for some music for Sophia to dance to. I started out with some of the more upbeat themes of Diary of Dreams, but something was off. Youtube then suggested Blutengel. I’d never heard the German music group before, so I thought, why not? The first song that came up and called my attention was When I feel you . I still remember hearing the lyrics and grinning like a fool. That was the song. It was exactly how Markus felt. Furthermore, it had a good beat to which Sophia could dance.Sophia has her own song too. I had already baptized her as Frost Princess when I found that Blutengel had a song titled Ice Princess.  The lyrics have little to do with Sophia, except that indeed there is no coldness in her soul, but the song had an exceptional rhythm. With the music set, some visual inspiration (check out the Pinterest board), and a whole lot of demanding whispers from the characters, the story of Markus and Sophia became Dance for me, Princess. I hope you enjoy it!

Strength. Power. Domination.
The shifters in our Alpha's Claim anthology have one thing in common—they won't take “no” for an answer. Whether they lead packs of their own, or whether they walk a solitary path, these alphas won't let anyone stop them from claiming their women.      Lose yourself in these ten sinfully delicious love stories. After all, who could deny an Alpha's Claim?
Dance for me, Princess by Elyzabeth M. VaLey blurb:

When ruthless businessman and shifter Markus Topponiem sets his eyes on something he likes, he pursues it until he gets it. No exceptions. That's why when he catches a sniff of the delicious scent emanating from a girl with blue hair, he doesn't think twice about following her and making her his.       Sophia, a.k.a. Frost Princess, dances to forget and keep her demons at bay. Then Markus comes into her life, and in the wake of his passion he revives the monsters of her past, causing her to flee.       Will Markus be able to persuade her to give herself to him or will her fear destroy their future?
Available at: Amazon.com || Amazon.uk || Evernight Publishing   || AllRomanceEbooks || Bookstrand
Excerpt from Dance for me, PrincessMarkus Topponiem tugged at the cuffs of his white shirt, adjusting it. He crossed his right leg over the left, resting the ankle on the knee. His hands on his lap, he waited. His gaze slid around the room, and his cock twitched in expectation of what he hoped was to come. His heart thundered in his chest, following the lead of his male organ and anticipating the thing that could change his life forever. However, even though nerves danced across every pore in his flesh, he played the part of calm and relaxed. No one who saw him could have guessed that he was on the verge of breaking down. Naturally aloof, as was usual among his species, he had been taught from a young age that expressing emotions openly was risky. His mother’s early death had made him unnaturally cold, and his  ability to remain poised and under control in any situation had, not surprisingly, earned him nicknames such as “Ice King” or “Cold Hearted”. Animals didn’t hunt by being rash and irrational; they sat and waited. Everything in life, including the building of financial empires, did well to follow the same rule. Sit, wait, and strike when the prey was weakest. With that in mind, he conducted business in what some called a ruthless, heartless way. Perhaps that was why he was single. He hadn’t found the woman who stirred his predatory instincts. Until today.
Author Bio: Defined as weird since she was about eight, Elyzabeth honors the title by making up songs about her chores, doodling stars and flowers on any blank sheet of paper and talking to her dog whenever he feigns interest.Losing the battle to the voices in her head is her favorite pastime after annoying her younger sister with her singing. Writing stories full of passion and emotion where love conquers all is her happy pill and she'll forgo sleep to make her readers live the dream.Stalk me at: Blog
