Free Is Nice
A couple of days into the freebie at Amazon, Spidey has had over 7000 downloads, and people are picking up Space Junque and Bleeder at their sale prices too. So much fun – and especially because Bleeder's blog tour is coming up in just 8 days!
Yikes! I still have things to do to get ready …

Peter Falk, RIP
I always liked Peter Falk, and I loved him in two roles that at first seem quite different to each other.
I rediscovered Peter Falk in Wings of Desire. Falk played himself making a movie in Berlin and waxing philosophic on life's paradoxes. If you haven't seen this movie — what are you waiting for?
But I fell in love with Falk when I was a little kid, watching A Pocketful of Miracles on television with my family. My stepdad kept saying He's got that funny eye! and laughing out loud. Cracked all the kids up. He was a real goofball in that movie.
For most of us, life is hard and then we die; but there are consolations along the way – truly good things. The sound of a baby's cackling laughter, the smell of lilacs in spring, a kiss from someone you love, a movie that makes you remember life is sweet.
As Peter Falk (playing Peter Falk) said in Wings of Desire, "There's so many good things."
Peter Falk gave us performances that added to the good things.

I Love Contests
It's so much fun having a contest. There are already quite a few people getting the jump on the $100 Amazon/B&N gift certificate drawing by answering the pre-tour bonus question correctly.
I love it!

Give Me – Sneak Peek
I have an odd writing style, developed from my songwriting technique. I write novels in 1/5 sections: the 3/5 first, then 5/5. Then I write the 2/5, then the 1/5 and then the 4/5. It works for me!

Today I finished the opening scene for Give Me, the erotic fairytale which is my current project, and I'd like to share it with you at the link above.

Announcing: Bleeder's Bookish Snob Blog Tour!
Bleeder is going on a blog tour with Bookish Snob Productions. There will be excerpts and guests posts and interviews, oh my! – Plus …
A bonus – The tour is giving away two $100 Amazon gift certificates at the end of the tour in a random drawing. Answer the trivia questions at each stop on the tour for an entry in the drawing – the more correct answers you give, the more entries you'll have. Plus each correct answer automatically earns an entry in a separate drawing for the blog that hosted that question.
Try it out! The tour doesn't start until July 9, but you can get an early entry right now by answering the sample question below (except that The Blog of LK Rigel is, of course, disqualified):

Rotating Freeness – Spiderwork Free (for now) at Smashwords
Because I can … Spiderwork is free at Smashwords for awhile and should show up free at iTunes and at B&N for Nook within a few days.
Space Junque is still free at iTunes but is 99 cents everywhere else. The free at iTunes could end at any minute – I'm not sure how quickly Apple implements price changes.

Postapocapunk Be Thy Name!
There, I've said it. Only two things drive me crazy in indie publishing. One is pricing – we've all seen how insane I am with pricing. But I'm okay with that now. Like Winston Smith with Big Brother, I have come to love 99 cents.
The other thing that has made me kookoo is categorizing the d*mn books!
Really, can anyone tell me what genre the Apocalyptos are? Space Junque seems obviously science fiction – but with goddesses and shapeshifters? A lot of straight science fiction readers are consternated by Asherah's appearance going into the third act.
SFR? Yes, for Space Junque, but not purely so. No, for Spidey and Bleeder. Yes, kind of, for Copperhead yet to come. No, for the two books planned after Bleeder.
Fantasy doesn't quite make it either, because of all the science fiction speculative stuff.
In Spiderwork, the series veers straight into the fantastic with shapeshifters, mutants, and the goddess's new world order. Bleeder, where things have settled a bit, is a mashup of the new world and survivals of the old – with dirigibles!
That's it! – Postapocapunk is born.

Bleeder is Guilty Too …
Stephanie at My Guilty Pleasures loved Bleeder too! Hurray!
