Y'all are gonna have to deal with another big shoutout to the amazing author Rachel Alexander for her beyond kind generosity!
After I discovered “Receiver of Many” and “Destroyer of Light” when it was one whole story as an online fanfiction I completely fell in love with the retelling of Hades and Persephone’s story. Too often I had seen Hades portrayed as an evil archetype with Persephone as the damsel-in-distress spring goddess who Hades selfishly kidnapped. But the lovely @kata-chthonia shed light on what this particular Greek mythology truly represented. When you enter the world Rachel Alexander painted for us through her words, you are set on a journey of betrayal, self-strength, loss, growth, and a profound love that proves to survive through every heartbreak imaginable. This duology series has meant so much to me in many ways, but the number one reason is the strong role model that Persephone has become, as a daughter, a wife, a queen, and a woman. To see her growth and rise from a naive girl to the Iron Queen is such an inspiration that you cannot help but strive to find your inner Persephone.
“Receiver of Many” and “Destroyer of Light” are two books I will recommend over and over again for years to come. If you haven’t read @kata-chthonia’s novels I suggest you get on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or other online book retailers and get yourself a copy of each. ((If you’re under 18 then you’ll have to wait - it’s an erotic romance series!))
@kata-chthonia, we’re all very proud of everything you’ve accomplished and I personally am looking forward to future works and endeavors you have up your sleeve, especially the upcoming novel “The Good Counselor”!
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a novel to finish reading!
