Of both the sky and the earth,
Walking in fields of innocence
Crowned with daisies and lilac
Yearning and searching
For something deeper,
And when the warm nights
Lulled her into deep wanderings,
She would find him waiting
In the shadows that gave him his name,
“A creature of darkness and death”,
They told her,
But her dream walker would touch her
And suddenly she was a flower no more
But something made from fire and blood,
And so when her lord husband
Crossed from dreams into the day,
She descended into the dark earth
From which she had first bloomed,
And so began
The pomegranate dreams.”
- “The Pomegranate Dreams”.

Candice king as merope
Merope is written POC in Receiver of Many. I would want to see a woman of color as Merope in the show.
François Arnaud as hades. Dude is hot af, has experience playing incestuous character from his time at the borgias, has mad off the chart chamestry with holliday grainger who would make an amazing persephone, but at risk of them reminding viewers of cesare
“Same anon, cause Emilia has already proven she can portray the whole naive curious girt to frightening Queen transformation perfectly. But really both Clarke and Turner come with the baggage of their sky high got-show reputation & some viewers might have trouble discerning khaleesi from feared iron Queen of underworld & sansa from Kore if you get Sophie. Not that the actresses can’t handle playing new characters & differently at that. Hypothetically speaking, of course. Maybe new talent’s better”
I agree with the conclusion you came to. I want to avoid anyone who has played a role that in any way echoes Persephone’s journey, since typecasting and cross pollination of fanbases would take people entirely out of the story if they saw someone like Emmelia Clarke or Sophie Turner in the role of Persephone. There are parts of their journey that are evocative of Persephone (and that also includes Emma Watson and her role in Beauty and the Beast), and I think there are probably a lot of unknown actresses out there who can both age up and down by about 10 years, can have a strong presence on screen and can pull off the transition between Kore and Persephone.
