I’ve just finished reading distroyer of light and I must admit your books are now my favorite when will the good counselor come out ?
I’m currently hard at work on The Good Counselor, but since life and a TV SERIES BASED ON MY BOOKS is in the works, I don’t have a definitive date for when it’s going to be finished.

Is it possible that the story of Hades and Persephone would go on a lot of volumes in the future? And, will there be a new character/god/goddess that you created and put it into Greek mythology? Thank you =)
Yep. This will be an 8-9 book series. I’m currently writing book 3. All characters, barring a handful of minor ones will be either straight out of mythology or select historical figures from antiquity.

To the commenter on AO3...
“I honestly think it’s sort of stupid of you to be forcing people to buy this story after it’s been up here for free just to turn a profit. To be frank it’s not really worth anything close to the $6 you are charging and anyone who took advantage of the download option here would be extremely smart. If anyone did so please share a link so that those that are late to this party won’t have to waste their money on something that was free. If not I would highly suggest waiting for this to come out on Nooks free Friday’s or free in iTunes.”
—TootsieI get what you’re saying. I do. You read Receiver of Many for free. And I like free stuff too. But no one is forcing you to buy the book.
I wouldn’t advocate pirating my book… Which is what you’re asking people to do: transmit the book to you without consent of me or the site.
If you want to do Nook Free Friday, then absolutely!! I encourage it. In fact, thank you for making me aware! If their program picks up Receiver of Many, I’ll promote the hell out of it to make sure everyone can afford a copy of the book.
But to “turn a profit”, or in my world, publish a story for purchase that I spent two years and countless hours writing, is the best way for me to continue writing, and the best way to serve the people who like to read what I write.
I have the same inescapable priorities in life that you do. And to keep writing for free online despite hundreds of calls to publish my work professionally, would force me to prioritize what I write last in my life. I don’t want to do that. I want to be able to keep writing these stories forever, and create works that people believe is worth the cost of sustaining my ability to keep on writing.
If you believe that all art should be free for the taking, that’s perfectly fine. I have works I left up for free. And beyond what I’ve written, there’s a vast collection of free works available.
But please weigh your comment against all the stories that were never finished, all the authors you love that stopped writing, and all the stories that don’t update for months on end. Because at the end of the day, that’s what you’re asking me to do.
All artists are entitled to be paid for their work. It’s our work. A lawyer or doctor certainly doesn’t practice for free.
And just because a doctor or lawyer offers free advice doesn’t mean they perform surgery or litigate for free. It’s the same here. There’s a difference between a free draft and a complete manuscript.
This is the worse sort of punching down. An independent author has none of the legal protection of a publishing house. This is like pushing over a table at a local craft fair. This person has a lot to lose and very small margins.
Please treat all authors with the respect we deserve whether or not we’re attached to publishers.
What an artist decides is worth selling and what a writer decides is worth giving to the masses for free is NOT up to the reader, or the consumer. If a writer wants to make a living (or even just subsidize their income) with their craft, and the demand is there, the reader has NO REASON to be upset about it. If you don’t want to buy it, don’t buy it. In my opinion $6 is incredibly kind to the consumer, and this story and all the others on the way are worth plenty more. No one is forcing you to buy the book. If you’re so intent on reading this, suggest your local library buys a few copies of the book. Boom. You get to read it for free, and the writer gets more exposure by proxy. Everyone wins.
I love writing fic for my followers and my fandom, but if the opportunity ever arose for me to publish I wouldn’t hesitate, and if I knew it would hurt me to keep my writing up for free I would probably pull it, with a heavy heart The author behind that screen is a human being who has to make a living, not an automaton here for your pleasure. (And who would want to read an automatons stories anyway?) Big publishers take hit counts and kudos and comments into consideration, but nothing sells like sales.
We live in a world with easy access to literally everything, and I think sometimes people forget that not everything is all about them all the time. Consider your fellow humans. Be kind. Be understanding. And stop trying to make a writer out to be the bad guy for wanting to get a paycheck out of their hard work. If you think writing is that easy, go ahead and do it yourself, and see what happens.
