Theory: hephaestus wasn’t suppose to be with aphrodite he was suppose to be with aglaea Question: did the fates tell zeus and hera about hephaestus future wife or did they tell him themselves or no?
In my telling, and as I understand from most mythological sources, Zeus made the decision to marry Hephaestus to Aphrodite because a goddess that powerful wouldn’t pose a threat to Zeus if she were married to Hephaestus.
