RIP Mr. Helm
RIP Mr. Levon Helm. One of my biggest drumming influences… and his work with The Band is a big influence on my writing, too: if I can put into my stories even a little of the organic warmth of their music, I will consider myself successful. The earth was lessened today.

Writing Credo (#3)
I do not write to escape, I will do that when I die. Until then I will use my work to study life (and what it means to live), confront my enemies, and, if possible, change myself or the world. Of course, I will also occasionally slip into vulgar humor. When you have a name like Cox you must learn to love a good dick joke.
For an example of my vulgar humor, see Dizzlemuck. Or buy me a beer.

“The Grey”
Did the ranchers, oil-men, and “hunters” fellate Liam Neeson into doing his latest movie, or was the money enough to do the trick? Intelligent men and women will avoid this bit of anti-wolf nonsense.
With all that wolves face in the real world (aerial gunning, trapping, heartless persecution) they shouldn’t have to face seriously flawed propaganda in movie-form.
Animals are not villains. They cannot be villains. Evil is a quality unique to the human mind.
