According to http://beherenow.org, slavery is more prevalent today than at any other time in history. Forced-labor and sex trafficking are illegal, but these crimes are too often overlooked. UNICEF estimates tha...

My favorite co-host of ABC’s “The View” says she’s leaving the long-running daytime talk show.

After more than 16 years on the show, 70-year-old Joy Behar will be leaving this summer.

Deadline.com reports Behar’s contract is up in August, and she told the producers she did not want to renew.

Behar explained to Deadline:

“It seemed like the right time. You reach a point when you say to yourself, ‘Do I want to keep doing this?’ There are other things on my plate I want to do — I’ve been writing a...

Facts About Smoking

I remember when I used to smoke a pack of Marlboro Reds (ages:15-19) every day, and every hour on the hour. Cigarettes were only $1.75 then. Unfortunately…

Every year, smoking kills about 440,000 Americans, more than all the deaths caused by accidents, alcohol and drug abuse, HIV, and murders combined.

On average, adults who smoke cigarettes die 13 to 14 years earlier than non smokers. Smokers account for 90% of all cases of lung cancer. Only 15% diagnosed with lung cancer survive 5 years.

Cocaine is a Hell of a Drug

Now that I’m older, learning about the effects of cocaine on the brain is quite fascinating. I remember when I was 15; a woman gave me a small stash and hesitantly wrapped it in a paper towel for me. I must admit, I begged her to “let me try it!

I then took “my stash” to another older friend (my best friend at the time) to enjoy it with me. I received so much backlash for having it that we eventually flushed the stash down the toilet — so I never got to try it. And THANK GOD!

Did I ever tell...
