okay guys I know I’ve been posting about this a lot but it is really fucking important. Right now, HALF OF CANADA IS ON FIRE.
Yes, forest fires happen every year but right now the amount of fires we are experiencing right now is more the total amount of forest fires from last year. 13 000+ people have been evacuated from their homes. Smoke is being blown across the country as far as Nova Scotia (which is on THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COUNTRY) and into the United States. Our prime minster Stephen Harper hasn’t said anything about it. CBC (our national news outlet) has been largely silent about the fires outside of British Columbia because a lot of the Saskatchewan fires have largely impacted the First Nations communities there. We are literally training the Canadian army to fight fire because we have run out of resources as well as calling in international help. We are taking the money to fight the fires from other budgets because our forest fire budget has been spent (here). Also our current government is planning on cutting the emergency fund to “balance the budget” which will only make things worse in years to come (because climate change is what’s causing these fires in the first place).
If you have the resources, please donate to the Canadian Red Cross. Even if you can’t donate, please reblog this and other posts. Please don’t let this get swept under the rug. Stay informed and remember this when certain parties ask for your vote this October.
Yeah… Minneapolans are pretty aware of the fires as the smoke has covered the sky pretty good the past couple days. Scary stuff.
Spreading the word and sending good wishes to my Canadian friends

In this episode, we talk about our varied experiences in art education, the lessons we learned and how we’ve applied that to our careers. Also the ending’s editing is a bit raw to keep in tact that chaos that recording with Spike can be.

Oh, MAN.
You guys shoulda been there.
It was glorious.
Videos are archived here. They’ll be up a couple weeks before Twitch deletes them. No plans to export and archive them to Youtube. The Fiesta was a whirlwind of hardcore gaming that shall come and go, and life returns to normal.
Yep, back to drawing comics.

PREVIOUSLY ON THE FOUR JOB FIESTA…
Having inherited a great deal of badassery from her grandpa, the young Krile found herself having to bail out the heroes a few times, even while staving off a space cold… but in the end, her attempt to protect the heroes from Exdeath himself proved to be a little too much for her.And so began FF5′s pivotal moment, where Galuf unleashed his stellar grandpa powers by taking on Exdeath alone, taking Comet, Holy, and Meteor to the face, all while ignoring the fact that he had zero hit points. As any smart villain would do in this situation, Exdeath ran away.
Looking over his shoulder and seeing his granddaughter safe, Galuf cracked a smile, hatching lines started to appear all over his body, and he clenched both of his fists, dying while standing up.
Having proven herself more than worthy, Krile absorbs Galuf’s space grandpa powers, and becomes the new member of Team Jerry. Our heroes bid their fallen comrade a solemn goodbye, and head toward Exdeath’s castle.
…After stopping briefly to kill a few more statues.
Castle Exdeath proved to be tricky but manageable, for the most part. The floors of lava left them wishing, for the first and only time in this playthrough, that Gilgabot let one of them be a Geomancer… but a pile of Hi-Potions turned out to be enough to help them through it. All was going well…
And then a Red Dragon showed up and cast Heat Ray twice in a row.
After reloading from the save, Jerry’s party begrudgingly redid their trek through the first half of the castle. Thankfully, the Red Dragon did not spawn this time, and everyone had a good laugh when they discovered there was a save point one room away from where they died.
They tiptoed past a sleeping Carbuncle, stepped around a few trap floors, and found themselves in a huge room with an empty chest. Jerry was incensed, knowing that every treasure box item on the planet was rightfully theirs. So who took this one? Why, it was none other than our old friend Gilgamesh. With the mighty weapon he callously stole, he challenged Jerry & friends to another fight. And this time, he was stronger than ever.
What Gilgamesh did not count on, and indeed, what Josh had completely forgotten about until then, was the raw power of the Blood Sword + Rapidfire. The Blood Sword is a weapon that steals HP, with the caveat that it determines its damage from the magic stat (which Jerry’s team lacked), and the much bigger caveat that it misses every 3 of 4 swings.
For whatever reason, the Rapidfire ability changes things so the Blood Sword’s power is determined from its rather high attack stat… plus it makes the weapon hit 100% of the time, instead of 25%. It seems Rapidfire is an ability that turns a useless weapon into a superweapon, capable of unleashing a fierce attack that completely heals its user.
Soooo, Gilgamesh went down, mostly by the assault of Faris, who was working as the Knight at the time. After watching their good friend get sent to another dimension, they saw that it was time. The Exdeath fight was here. Jerry was pretty worried about this fight… While his party did have a set of Wall Rings to protect them from Exdeath’s magic, they had nothing else in the way of support… nothing but raw power. The plan was to hit him until he died.
Faris looked down at Blood Sword she was holding. This weapon cheesed Gilgamesh pretty good, she thought… But can it do the same to Exdeath himself?
The answer is yes, it could. Exdeath kinda went down like a chump, with well over half his HP being absorbed by Faris. As she danced and rolled around in his blood, laughing, the others looked at the crystals with unease, feeling something was amiss. Indeed, Exdeath was not done yet.
The party once again became jarred by the sound of shattering crystal, and darkness followed. When they awoke, they found themselves in the third and final world of Final Fantasy V.
World 3… it’s two good worlds that go great together! It’s a much more open world with only two mandatory dungeons, and in a game where only four jobs are allowed, PARTICULARLY four physical-based jobs, the need to explore everything is diminished quite a bit. It looks like Jerry & co. will have some interesting choices to make.
What will they be?

PREVIOUSLY ON THE FOUR JOB FIESTA…
Galuf had to return to his homeworld to do some stuff. Soon after, Jerry and the girls realized they didn’t have a team member to replace him with, and as it’s imperative to have a 4-member party in FFV, they decided to chase after him.
After the reunion, they headed to Bal Castle, where they made the shocking discovery that, like every other character in the game, Galuf was royalty. They celebrated this discovery by running around the castle basement and destroying about 300 statues. As a result, Galuf learned an invaluable skill which let him strike four times per turn, with a 100% hit rate.
With this, they were ready to start the journey toward Atomos. After a couple stops to say hi to some moogles and space wolves, they arrived at the Barrier Tower, where they eagerly stopped to spend about half an hour grinding Reflect Knights for their useful rings. Incidentally, this game was published by Nintendo and developed by Square Enix.
Atomos is one of the toughest, most annoying Final Fantasy bosses, even in a normal FF5 playthrough. But Lenna had a cunning plan. First, she put her sword through Jerry the Berserker’s head. Then, as Atomos was distracted trying to send Jerry’s limp body to Dimension X, she had Galuf the Knight strike Atomos with the aptly-named Sleep Blade, and it was naptime for Atomos.
It turns out that while in the Bal dungeon, Lenna learned a Samurai skill called Mineuchi, a technique that allows someone to stab a sleeping enemy without waking them up. And so, she made use of this technique on Atomos. Then she used it again. Then she used it a few more times. Then she kept using it until Atomos died.
The team woke up Jerry and told him what happened, and they all had a good laugh.
But now is not the time to rest! We need to find the turtle hermit! We need to defeat Exdeath! We need one of our members to die heroically! There are many more boss fights to go, and we won’t be able to cheat on ALL of them!
Will Jerry & co. make it through the end of World 2!!??!??!?!?!
