Dragon Family

My throat is so sore! I managed to get cream of wheat down with milk, trying that again and applesauce. That chemo did a number on my throat and it doesn’t feel any better.
Just swallowing is painful. I’ve got laryngitis too. But I started shots last night to help the stem cells grow, so that’s good news.
Hope you’re having a fun day!

Where Did the Knight Go?

I finally got some cream of wheat with added milk down today. My throat is still sore from chemo burn.
And they’re giving platelets again. I’m ready to go back to bed.
Have a super fantastic day!

Having Fun Creating a Logo

So this is day 1 after the stem cell transplant. I couldn’t keep my breakfast down during the 4th bag of stem cells. The stem cells made my tongue and the back of my throat prickle, which caused the gag reflex, I believe. The nurse slowed down the transfusion and that helped so I could manage the rest of the bag.
The staff gave me a chocolate cake and a birthday card for my transplant yesterday. I have been reborn. lol Which means no immunity to childhood diseases or anything, not good. In 3 to 6 months I can get the vaccinations. And my blood type will change to my donor’s blood type.
This weekend, I’ll have the last of the chemo for two days. Once I get through that, hopefully my blood counts will rise and I’ll be feeling better. But they did warn me the counts will fluctuate.
I was feeling a little better last night, so managed to get some work done on Wolf Heir. I have two days of rest, so I’m hoping I’ll be able to get more done on it today and tomorrow. The weekend will be rough.
Hope your day is glorious!!

Meerkat Standing Guard

Cute little meerkat standing guard at one of the zoos I’ve visited.
I feel shaky and weak because I’ve hardly been keeping any food down. I’ve asked for anti-nausea medicine, but it’s still not here. I’m still on chemo for another couple of hours, then have a 2-day rest from it, but the stem cell transplant will cause just as much nausea, I’ve been warned. Ugh.
I did manage to get 52K on Wolf Heir somehow yesterday.
I wish I could fast forward to a couple of weeks from now when I’m feeling better, or however long I need to take.
Hope you have the coolest day ever!

Girl Hiking with Her Faithful Dog

That looks like fun!
Took the IV out so no more blood draws from it. Yay!!
Slept a little better. Yay!! But I can’t keep food down at all. Boo. I did walk a mile the last two days on the ward, so that’s good, but I need to keep some food down. One last chemo shower, yay!! Two more days of heavy duty chemo, and then two days of rest. Yay!
Do I feel well? Nope.
Hope you’re doing great!

Canoes Waiting to be Paddled

This was the fun times in New Hampshire at a lake last year.
Not so fun times now. I had chemo all day yesterday and then all through the night last night. Same thing for tonight through Sunday night. Ugh. Just vomited breakfast. I haven’t felt like having lunch.
I’ve been exhausted and nauseous all day.
Hope you’re having a super fun day!

Whimsical Lavender Dragon

I love all shades of purple! This little dragon is well cloaked in drapes of lavender flowers to keep him safe. Wouldn’t you love to cuddle him?
I’m working on Wolf Heir still. I’m getting 1,000 words a day, so that’s good. I’m just doing edits, so it takes longer to show word count progress.
They moved up my chest CT scan to Monday to check out my lungs to see how the pneumonia is going. Hopefully, it’s getting better and not stationary. Or growing. It could be they moved it up because they got some more of the bone marrow biopsy results back. Which means one of two things. The biopsy looks good and they want to see if the pneumonia is cleared up enough to start me on chemo again so I can get the transplant, OR the bone marrow results are worrisome, and they need to get me back on chemo so that they can keep it in check.
I’m sure that it’s good news. I choose to believe it is good news. I will know for sure when I have another doctor’s appointment. Mine has gone on vacation, so someone else will be seeing me. I probably won’t have another appointment though until the CT scan results are back.
I’m off to write! Hope you’re having a fantastic day!

Pot-bellied Pig

I took the photo of the pig in Okinawa. Here is the original.

I managed to write 1165 words yesterday. I wanted to reach 43K, but I’m 165 words short. I’m shooting for 44K today. Just doing my blog post, and the IV antibiotic, and off I’ll go.
Hope you’re having a wonderful day!

Great News!

Love compiling images to create a picture–love jaguars.
The great news, if I’m reading it right, is that my bone marrow biopsy shows the cancer is still mostly in remission after 5 weeks of no chemo. YAY!
Which means they can let me have a few more days of antibiotics before they start the heavy-duty chemo and then the stem cell transplant.
I’ll see the doctor late this afternoon, wish it was earlier, and learn what he wants to do. But I’m feeling so much better, thinking the pneumonia is getting resolved, so hopeful we can get this started on Monday. I don’t want to be admitted to the hospital again, after being admitted twice for getting sick. But unless I have the stem cell transplant, I’m afraid I’ll continue to get sick, and they’ll have to keep delaying.
Once I have it, it’s still a rough road ahead. I’ll be sick, have to run in all the time for them to monitor it, but I’m hoping my body can deal with it, and I’ll be on the road to recovery.
I did manage to write 1100 words, short of the 1400 I wanted to write, but I thought that was pretty good!
Hope your day is fabulous. Mine is so far!

Purple Magic Crepe Myrtle

I love purple flowers so when I found crepe myrtles in purple, I had to get them. Four of them. They are miniatures so they only get to about 4-6 feet tall, whereas the others can get to around 20-40 feet tall.
I’m coughing up a storm this morning, which means I still have pneumonia, but I was excited to write 800 words on Wolf Heir last night. It’s not my usual 2,000, but it’s a start since I haven’t been able to write anything. I wrote 300 words before this.
I’m trying to reach 40,000 today, which is only 400 words. So maybe I can add 1400 today!
Have a terrific day!
