So this is day 1 after the stem cell transplant. I couldn’t keep my breakfast down during the 4th bag of stem cells. The stem cells made my tongue and the back of my throat prickle, which caused the gag reflex, I believe. The nurse slowed down the transfusion and that helped so I could manage the rest of the bag.
The staff gave me a chocolate cake and a birthday card for my transplant yesterday. I have been reborn. lol Which means no immunity to childhood diseases or anything, not good. In 3 to 6 months I can get the vaccinations. And my blood type will change to my donor’s blood type.
This weekend, I’ll have the last of the chemo for two days. Once I get through that, hopefully my blood counts will rise and I’ll be feeling better. But they did warn me the counts will fluctuate.
I was feeling a little better last night, so managed to get some work done on Wolf Heir. I have two days of rest, so I’m hoping I’ll be able to get more done on it today and tomorrow. The weekend will be rough.
Hope your day is glorious!!

Glad you got the transplant done. Sorry you had a few issues though. That's great on the chemo. I hadn't thought about the lack of immunity to childhood diseases and your blood type changing, but it makes sense. Hope you're able to get the vaccines before you're exposed to anything.
That's great on the cake and card! So sweet! :)
That's cool on being able to work on Wolf Heir!
Take care, have a fantastic day and a wonderful weekend. <3
