Drunk Yellow Jackets & Other Fun Stuff!

I TOLD you it was a jungle out here. And here's some of the dangerous wildlife. Oh, sure, they don't look very dangerous, but try cutting back a rosebush where they've made a hive, or grab hold of the back of a lawn chair where they've made a hive, and yep, you're in for it!!!
With the rosebush, it was like a massive winged air force buzzing overhead. I made a beehive (pun intended) for the garage and the house, pronto.
The lawn chair was another story. I got stung. Oh, and then there was the "who's coming to Thanksgiving dinner" scenario. These little guys. Can I help it if I smoked them out of the chimney to join us to watch a Jackie Chan movie while an ice and snowstorm was raging  outside??? That in and of itself was unbelievable, but then the rest happened and it was the most memorable Thanksgiving ever. Don't you wish you could have such fun?

Just join me for a holiday. You never know what will happen!!!

I got a new camera! It takes much clearer shots. I went out last night to take pictures of my bears that I have still, to redo my bear website. And saw this sky. I had to take a picture of it!

Since I do this for blogs and all, and for covers sometimes, I needed something that did a better job. So what do you all think?

I love it as with the string mohair it really shows the stringy fur with no strings attached! Okay, so all the strings ARE attached. Or he would be Fuzzy Wuzzy, a bear with no hair and then he wouldn't be Fuzzy Wuzzy...I'm sorry. No, I'm not eating the fermented pears alongside the yellow jackets, but I probably should be!
And with that final silly thought...back to the real business today! Savage Hunger!!!I'm at the following places today! 10/3 Booklovin Mamas & Romance Lives Forever & Casablanca

And a great review from Book Lovin' Mamas, FranJessca (formerly Navy!), so you know it's got to be great!

Have a super great Wednesday!!! Hump Day!

Having Fun at Castles and Guns Today!

I'm back on Facebook! Apparently it's my Firefox browser that was the trouble! I was having intermittent Yahoo trouble also and when I switched over to IE, it worked.

I'm here today!!!
10/2 Castles and Guns

I'll be at 3 locations tomorrow!!!

I changed out the covers for Killing the Bloodlust and The Shadow Elf, yet again.

On Killing the Bloodlust, it only had the background sunset and dark trees, so I added the hero and heroine. The title was almost impossible to read in the other, so I think this stands out better.

In The Shadow Elf, the picture of my daughter wasn't clear enough and I want this to go into print, so I had to redo it.

Now I'm back to working on Highland Rake. I get so easily distracted! Then again, these are projects I've been wanting to do forever. :)

The weather has cooled down a little so it's really time to get back to the snow in Silence of the Wolf.

Hope you all have a super great Tuesday!

Tomorrow, SAVAGE HUNGER Releases!!!

Thanks to everyone who voted yesterday for me for Savage Hunger! I felt like I was out in the jungle, WITHOUT Connor. I mean, okay, if I had him to spend the time with, I would have been fine.

But, I couldn't do a blog. Even when I tried to post the link yesterday, I had to do it over and over and over again, to get it to go through once. Just for the link.

savagehunger

I can't connect to Facebook at all. The storm's all gone, but I have had problems with getting it to download comments and the rest of the page, which means I can't comment at all, or post updates.

I did manage to LIKE Dragon Fae on Kobo, experimenting to see if that would go through, and it did. But it was from another site. So it's really bizarre.

*sigh* I don't know if it will ever clear up.

Then I finally got the newsletter out!

And A Howl for a Highlander final proof went back to my editor yesterday! :) I had trouble with that too because the Internet was such a mess. It was like a tease...okay, go ahead and upload the file. And then it would show it was uploading, and when I went back to check on it, it was RED, FAIL, did not upload. So I messed with that on and off all day too.

So now I'm concentrating on Highland Rake, and Dougald's in the middle of things, don't ask me how I can take a break when things are really getting hot, but I have to think.... :)

LOL

Today I'm at:

10/1 Star Crossed Romance
Tabby's Nocturnal Nights
Tabby's WON'T be up until Noon, the blog owner informed me!
But I'm really excited about continuing with the blog tour. So be sure and drop by and comment!

I want to buy a picture for the next fae book, but I've got to wait a bit and finish some other stuff!!! That already have covers. But I want to update Shadow Elf's cover also. I did buy a couple of pictures but when I went to download them, only part of both pictures downloaded. So I'm waiting to hear back from the site. That's how it's been all weekend!

That's about it for the news!!!! Oh, wait, because of the storms and all, I couldn't announce the winners of the books for the Highland book tour.

Clover Autrey and Susan Helm!

Thanks so much to everyone who dropped by and commented!

Have a super great Monday!

I'm off to write some more on Highland Rake...got to love those men in kilts!

Storms!

Unable to get to Facebook, emails intermittently, and no newsletter. Such is the problem with satellite during storms. Down Internet, electricity has gone off. But did manage to finally finish proofing A Howl for a Highlander and FINALLY send it off! Hope to be back up and running by Monday. :) Have a super weekend. Terry

I was going to work on Highland Rank, but I received the final, final, final edits on A HOWL for a Highlander. And when the wolves are howling, they take priority. It's always fun for me to reread the final copy of a book before it's off to the publishers!!! I fall in love with the characters all over again!

One of my fun scenes was taking Duncan shopping. :)

Have a SUPER great Friday!!!

A Full Moon Where Art Thou?

We all know that par for the werewolf and vampire course, we must have the full moon. Which is arriving on Sept 29!

In the first picture I took, the moon was all aglow. In the last picture, my daughter managed to get a great shot of the moon with all the craters on it! But it's too dark. And the night was pure black.

So I brightened it up a bit and placed it over the glowing moon and allowed the pink halo that glowed around the original picture to remain so it would be nice and cloudy. There were some neat "black" tree branches stretched out toward the moon, but when I had to resize the photo for a book cover size, I lost the tree branches. Maybe I'll add them back in.

This is still the cover for Dangerous Liaisons. You see how much work goes into a cover???

It's fun though!

I'm at--Jungle Tour, Anyone? Jesse's Blog

And talking about School Days!

And Dragon Fae is done!!! I'm doing a final read through and it will be off to the publishers!

Have a super great Thursday!!

Red Nails and Lips for a Vampire Huntress?

I'm finishing up Dragon Fae. Got word count!!. But more than that, I'm trying to wrap up all the loose ends and come up with a satisfying ending and then begin the process, AGAIN, of rereading the whole book to revise it again.

Here I've been playing around with coloring the huntress's lips and nails. It suits a vampire book much more, I think. :)  I'm thinking of adding something special to one of the nails. Will have to see. :)

My blog stop today is at Paulette's Papers!

And it's a happy hump day!!!

Have a super wonderful day and check out what I'm saying about Savage Hunger--dogs/cats, wolves/cats....

Off to work some more on Dragon Fae, and I left out my faux sack of garbage but the culprit knew it. Anyway, I went to bed so I'm sure I wouldn't have caught any action anyway!

The Shifters Live Among Us!

Second day of the tour and you'll find me here as Sharon Buchbinder's blog!

The Shifters Live Among Us!

I've been playing around with this photo to make a book cover for Dangerous Liaisons, vampire romance, so here is one of the before pictures...blue gray background, strange eyes, colorless lips...stay tuned.

Okay, I need a shifter to protect me!

Something has been going bump in the night around my bedroom window. I have a big planter next to the wall, no cracks between it and the house, yet one night I went outside to see what it was that was making such a racket, it sounded like it was behind the bed!

Nothing.

Back up a week or so ago, and I put my garbage out on the front porch, planning to take it to the road the next morning. It had chicken packages and they can smell really bad. Every watch Labyrinth? Well, everytime I smell something bad like this, I think of that movie and the Bog of Eternal Stench. LOL :)  "It smells BAD."

About a year ago, I quit putting out my garbage can because the wind would blow it into the culdesac which is about 5 feet deep, and it was dark when I'd get home from work, and I'd be running late for work in the morning--writing, blogging, you know, the usual--and so I started doing what my neighbors do. Just put out the bag.

Well, we have no dogs, no cats, the place is all farm fields, few houses. And something got into my garbage. I'd forgotten to get my mail, so here I am going out at ten that night, see the garbage everywhere, and grab my mail, then try to stuff the garbage back into the very ripped up bag.

I'm thinking, DNA samples from culprit--if it was a wolf or a jaguar, he's on my bad side.

I had aluminum foil on the ground that I'd used to cook the chicken on and when I went to pick up the foil pieces, they were crawling with fireants. Okay, forget picking up the stuff in the dark. I'd do it in the morning.  That meant I couldn't bring in the ruined sack either. It would be full of fireants also.

So I put the bag on the top of the planter. Now, It's about 4 feet tall or taller.

And the next morning, I was going to clean up the mess, put it in another sack, and guess what?

The sack of garbage is on the DRIVEWAY.

Spooky music here.

I've NEVER seen a raccoon. Skunks, yes. So I figure it was a skunk. But a skunk couldn't have climbed into the planter. It's too tall. And it has straight brick sides so nothing for it to use to climb up into the planter. Plus I had set the sack far enough back that a skunk couldn't have reached up and grabbed it and pulled it down.

Then one morning, I was having a nightmare about some outerspace story and this man had a gas mask on because something really bad was leaking all over the place, but I was dying because I didn't have a mask and the smell was something..like the Bog of Eternal Stench.

I woke up because it was skunk! Right next to the bedroom wall.

So, do I have skunks living in my walls????

But still, how did they get into the planter?

Did I mention to you that I live in a jungle out here???

Have a great time and see what I have to say about The Shifters Live Among Us, just in case you didn't think they did!!!
