Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder

Isn't he beautiful? Colorful. Attractive in a lizard way.

This one wasn't as bright and colorful, blending in more with the dirt.

And this one was just hanging around. Handy little suction cups, don't you think?
So truly, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some would wrinkle their noses up at the little creature. But some would think how cute!
Don't you think it would be the same with wolves and vampire??? And jaguars?
Some might see them strictly as beasts of prey--dangerous and predatory.
Others can see the beauty in them. That's what I saw when I read Jack London's tales of wolves in White Fang and Call of the Wild.
I'm off to work on Jaguar Fever edits and the synopsis!!!
Don't work too hard while I'm away!!!

White Tiger--What Wears Him Out???

Ever had to feed a grouchy person who was anxious to get fed?
Ever been grouchy because you weren't being fed?
Here, he was tired of waiting for his food. :)

Hmm, maybe he just needed a nap!
Have a super Wednesday! Have to get groceries or I'll be roaring around here!

Wolves Love Cheez-Its!

Then we walked around the exhibit to the other side where we could get closer. At first, the wolves stayed far away from us, but then after we'd been there a while, they came right up next to the fence.
But trying to take pictures through the fence wasn't that great as I haven't learned yet how to not focus on the fence! So we walked all the way around the exhibit again and stood where the observation deck was. And this time they came close to the observation area. Well, I was taking pictures of other wolves, and not ready when the wolves found the "food."
Here is what was underneath the fur--Cheez-It boxes and I'm sure it was filled with something to eat. This is the alpha--because that's the wolf that got the prize!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!
I've got to retreat to my cave and do edits on Jaguar Fever as I've got a really short deadline!
Then it's back to Silence of the Wolf!
Happy Tuesday!

Linx-Like a Big Kitty Cat

Doesn't the lynx's actions remind you of a big kitty cat? It licks its arm, then wipes its head to clean it. :)

Well, that's one way to get a bath if you really don't like the water! :)
I took a video of the wolves, but not sure if the file can be uploaded to the blog. I'll try when I get home. :)

Autographed Books in Omaha, NE!
Killing the Bloodlust is in print!

My son and daughter-in-law's lovely turkey dinner. :)

And my son took me all over to autograph books even to a Barnes and Noble in Council Bluffs
that is no more. But at least I signed at 3 book stores in Omaha! Enjoy!

Autographed copies of Savage Hunger are at Crossroads Barnes and Noble, Oak View B&N and Books-a-Million in Omaha, NE.
The following books are at Oak View Barnes and Noble: I promise I didn't sign Kerrelyn Sparks's book. Our books always hang together at the book stores though! :) And we're often next to each other at book signings.

Books-a-Million in Omaha:

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! We're off to see wolves at a drive-through reserve. Hope that the wolves aren't too cold and in hiding!
Having fun watching Supernaturals. :) Have you watched them?

Jaguar & Snow Leopard?

I believe the top guy was a snow leopard. I missed the golden jaguar somehow and the bottom picture is the undignified portion of the black jaguar. How could I help it if that was the best angle I could get???
On the snow leopard, I tried so hard to get a picture of him because he was in hiding, and I had no idea from the distance he was from me that he was watching me with one blue gray eye. :)
So how has everyone's Thanksgiving gone???

We went to see Skyfall last night and it was great!! I want to see The Hobbit next!
Hope you all are having a lovely weekend!
I'm still proofing Killing the Bloodlust for print and hope to have it out before I leave. Highspeed Internet, you know.
Have a great day!

Buddying Up--Yikes It's Cold!

So it's time to buddy up!! It's 15 degrees here today!!! With a high of about 36 degrees. We're going to watch some high octane action in the James Bond movie...but otherwise...I just have to say I'm glad we went to the zoo already!!!
Wind was howling like crazy, sounded like it was the big bad wolf trying to huff and puff and break the house in. :)
Highland Rake is available in print!

Kiss of the Vampire is available in print!

And I'm still working on the proof for Killing the Bloodlust! :)
Plus I have first edits for Jaguar Fever so I have to get started on those soon. :)
Hope you are having more of a feast today! How warm is it there??
Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Just like feeding time at the zoo, it's time to gather around and enjoy a good bite of food. And if you aren't getting fed quickly enough, or you think that there's something better your host isn't feeding you, just take a look and see if you can find it yourself. :)

That is if you're a penguin! Otherwise we should abide by the rules of etiquette--and ENJOY friendship, fellowship, and good food in a more sociably acceptable way!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of my fans and friends across the world! Have a lovely day!!!

You Never Know What You'll Find in the Ocean...

A Howl for the Highlander (Book 10)
Sourcebooks
Feb 2013
Duncan MacNeill is a Highlander at heart with a mission—find gray wolf and former stockbroker, Silverman who has stolen the family fortune and is purported to be living in the Grand Cayman Islands. As a Highland wolf, Duncan rarely leaves his native homeland and taking a trip to an island paradise doesn’t appeal. But keeping the MacNeill’s ancestral castle depends on making Silverman pay. What Duncan doesn’t plan for is the American botanist who distracts him from his mission and makes him realize what an island paradise really means. Shelley Campbell is teaching botany at a Florida college, when she receives an email from an old girlfriend, who’s renting a villa on the island and wants her to come to stay with her. Figuring she can study the old growth forest while she's there, and lecture about it when she returns home, she has no idea the secrets she might uncover. When her girlfriend’s a no-show, a Highlander turns up instead, and she has a choice—share the villa, or send him away and pay full price for the accommodations—which on her teacher’s salary is stretching things pretty thin. Since he promises to be no trouble at all, she lets him stay. And that’s when the trouble really begins!
AmazonB&N
Now these guys look like they're from some alien world, don't they? But they're great to eat. :)

But being the protective sort that Duncan is, he's ready to save Shelley if any of these guys turn up! Even though he tries to talk her out of swimming at night when the sharks like to feed.

Like I said you never know what you might find in the ocean. Or...hanging about shore...

Have you ever swum in the ocean? Ever worry about the sharks? Ever see Jaws?
Have a super lovely Thanksgiving Eve!!!
