Jaguar Heat--has Begun....

Sometimes beginning a story is easy. Sometimes it isn't. I had an idea for the beginning, then tried to come up with something different, but when I reread the opening, I liked it...so I'm off and...well, maybe not running, but I'm working on it!!!

1969 Jaguar Series II E-type roadster

1969 Jaguar XKE Roadster for sale
I kept thinking I wanted one of my jaguars to have a jaguar car, so this is it. Don't you love it??? :)

Tammy Anderson, Maya and Connor's cousin, is getting to know David Patterson, Wade Patterson's brother, and already they are totally at odds.

Life is too much fun... I'm off to make things worse for them. You know what they say--all work and no play....

These too aren't playing nicely together at all though...

Have a super great Tuesday!!!

Day is Nearly Over!!!

Do you ever feel that way? I've been trying to help out fellow authors with how to promote their upcoming releases, and others with applying for audiobook payments, and I still need to finish reading Taming the Wild Highlander to ensure that it's spotless before I okay the print version...

And it's already 9:30 and the day is half over!!! And I haven't even blogged yet!

Before I know it, I'll have to take a break and start fixing lunch and where will it end???

With Tuesday! That's where!

Do you ever feel your day is half over and you haven't even begun it???

It all started with having sinus pain last night--the kind that tylenol pm won't touch. Where you feel that half of your teeth need to be pulled. Then it went from that to: Being in France. Crowded. Lost.  At night. It was getting darker. Later. More crowded. Don't the French ever go to sleep?

Parlez-vous français ?

Neine.  No.

I had been at a conference, ridden with a very nice American author to her hotel, but I needed to get to the airport, lost my luggage, and then lost my way.

I have a reoccurring nightmare about losing my way. No, it's not some deep psychological babble about being lost and not knowing what I want to do when I grow up. It has to do with ALL the times I've really been lost when I go somewhere.  :)

And that's my story, and I'm stuck with it. When I finally woke up for the final time...better than 2:30 and 4:30 and 5:30...I was really glad it was Monday!!! I had to get out of the nightmare because my muse wasn't helping in the least...

Probably payback because I don't always listen to her. :)

And so now...it's 9:39, and I have finally written my blog!!!

Ever lose a day now and again and wonder why?

A Few Spring Flowers

 Jasmine or periwinkle?
What are these? I planted them but have no idea what they are. :)

White daffodil and do you see the visitor taking a rest???

All my flight times were changed for this summer for the conferences I'm attending...hmm, should I have just waited to schedule them? Good thing they alerted me!!!

Off to see a Eagle Scout receive his honors. Loved when my son had his court of honor!

If you know what the middle flowers are, can you let me know???

Have a terrific Sunday!

More Beauty and Danger

Top, puffer fish with spines that poison.

Bottom, sea horse with its little fan of wings on the back that give him movement.

I'm working on the print version of Taming the Wild Highlander now, and here is the reworked cover for book 5 in The Highlanders series.

Donna, you said you didn't like the braid on the side and he looked way too cartoonish. So I redid the cover on my own and I think this looks better. I wish he had longer hair, but not sure I can do it right. I still need to add a tagline...but this will be the next in the series. What do you think?

I've been working on guest blogs for May also, and a newsletter article, so not all goofing off.

And I'm still mulling over the beginning of Jaguar Heat...I'm thinking of starting it with a traveling circus. Have any experiences with going to the circus in your neck of the woods?

Okay, got to get to work....which project first? Think I'll get to work on the newsletter, then read over the print version of Taming the Wild Highlander, then...research circuses! :)

Are we having fun yet???

Ready for: Taming the Wild Highlander???

Okay, cover redone and the book is ready to go!!!

This is Angus MacNeill's story, 4th Book in The Highlanders Medieval romance series
Edana Chattan senses concerns where people she knows could be in danger. When her brothers warn her they're in trouble, she can't convince her father to listen to her, so with an escort, she tries to locate them. Separated from her escort during a storm, she is discovered by Angus MacNeill, who is tasked to return her home.

Only Edana has other notions--and convinces him and his companions to allow her to use her abilities to locate her brothers who are manacled in a dungeon somewhere. That leads to a faux marriage and more dungeons and more trouble than Angus had ever thought possible. So why is the bewitching, fiery-haired lass making him think of marrying her for real?  B & NAmazonSmashwords SEAL edits are turned in! And now? I'm on a whirlwind adventure in Jaguar Heat! A friend's son is in the Eagle Scout Court of Honor on Sunday, but otherwise, I'll be writing!  Do you have plans for the weekend? It's supposed to turn cold for us--in the 30's.

A SEAL Wolf Christmas!!! Now Available for Preorders!

Amazon
B&N

Navy SEAL Bjornolf Jorgenson and undercover operative Anna Johnson have a rocky beginning at their first meeting all to do with pantyhose and tying her to a bed after some heavy-duty sparring, and him declaring she has mighty fine killer knees. They're on a jungle mission while Christmas is coming but thoughts of sugar plum fairies and kissing under the mistletoe isn’t something these two gray werewolves have in mind when they're tasked to be the newlyweds preparing for Christmas while investigating a SEAL’s murder at a Christmas tree farm.

Neither care about Christmas, sharing gifts, and all the traditions that go along with the season since neither enjoyed the holiday while growing up. But as they battle each other as to what makes for the perfect newly married couple’s first Christmas, they learn that a little Christmas cheer can become so much more, especially if they can take down the SEALs' killer before they become his next target.

********************************************************************************

Are you ready for some SEAL action???  I'm nearly finished with final edits and the same with on Taming the Wild Highlander. And then I've got to work on Jaguar Heat. I have 3 plot ideas, but I'm trying to come up with a connection.

I started the story, but not sure if that's how I want to go.

Have you ever fought with yourself about how you're going to do a project? Or do you just jump in and fix the mistakes afterward???

Off topic: I've heard soybeans are so good for you. Do you add them to your food and what are some ways to do so? I've eaten them before in mixed vegetables, I think.

Okay, back to SEAL edits! Nearly done!

Spring has Sprung and it's Time to Eat!

Doesn't he look like a piece of artwork? But if you get beneath the shell, good and edible???

I love scallops, shrimp and lobster!!! :) I'm not much of a fish person, but the other? Love 'em.

I think the best lobster I had was when I visited Boston. Do you have good eating lobster near where you live?

Happy Spring!!!

Ah, Plants!

I LOVE plants, and water and more plants, and more water! I figured that people probably were looking for the "animals" I was taking pictures of that were hidden in these spots. There weren't any. I was just capturing the water and the plants. I use them to help me describe the rainforest. I love to just look at them and wish my yard looked as cool as that. :)

So nope, no animals in these pictures. All pure plants...and water. :)

What about you? Do you love gardens? Or are other things more your style?

Stars of the Sea

This was a touching tank and we got to touch everything in the tank. Which was neat. When I have to describe things for a book, it helps to really know what things feel like. Like the rough starfish, or the soft anemones.
Or the smell of fishy salty seawater. :)

The water was warm and the room well lit, which makes for the optimum conditions for all of these neat sea creatures.

In New Orleans, they had a shark petting tank. The shark I petted had skin like sandpaper. :)

Have you ever touched the stars of the sea?

Cleaning Windows with the Sharks

Do you like to clean windows? What if you cleaned windows while sharks were looking on? And you were in the water with them???

These 3 divers were cleaning the sharks' windows so we could see the sharks better!

In the picture below, you can see the divers fins in the upper left hand corner, and of course the big shark down below. There were two of them beneath the divers at one point. :)

I've never wanted to clean windows on tall skyscrapers, but I don't think I'd care for this either! :)

Anyone want to join the scuba divers???
