How Many Wolves?
Can you count the number of wolves in the Wolf Spot? The number of jaguars???
Here is my Wolf Crossing! Donna's mother made the lovely wolf puzzle picture to the left. The one on the top right is a 3-D picture my co-workers gave me when I retired from the library, and of course, all wolves have to check in here at the WOLF X-ING.
As you note, there are some jaguars getting into the picture! That's to be expected. They want you to know they're just as hot as the wolves! :)I'm off to write the guest blogs for the upcoming May tour. So, have you got the count of the wolves in the picture??? Jaguars? :)

Waterfalls
You know what waterfalls are for, right??? :)
Don't you love when something fun reminds you of something fun every time you see it? Like a waterfall in a particular rainforest jungle? :)
So I just had to get a picture of it, so I could envision, well...jungle cats beneath the waterfall. Ah...those were the days.
Beyond the jungle are orchids and parrots and monkeys. But behind the waterfall...it's only up to your imagination.
I've been critiquing my critique partner's mss, kids are coming in tonight, but I'll try to get the newsletter out today. :)
Have a glorious weekend! See, and when it was Monday, you thought Friday would never get here, right??? Happy TGIF!
Have any fun plans?

Orchids of the Rainforest
Have you ever tried to grow orchids? They're gorgeous, but I haven't had any success with growing them in the house. But just think how these beautiful flowers grow everywhere in the rainforest!
25,000-30,000 varieties. :)
So if you grow some, what color would you prefer?
Solid? Speckled? :)
I'm back to edits on A SEAL Wolf Christmas, and then it's off to work on Jaguar Heat. The title was just approved. :)
And these little confetti bears are the last of my bears in this fur. They discontinued the fabric. Aren't they cute? Like peppermint ice cream. The fur fabric is dyed that way. At bear shows, I've been asked if I colored them with marker. LOL Nope. It's permanently dyed into the fur fabric. Their paws have room for a first name and a birth date on the other paw, or I "heart" you or some such message. :) I hand embroider the paws, and they do have bows. I just left them off to show the bear, but the color will match the embroidered paws.
I'm off to try to get the newsletter done since I missed sending it last week--spending time with my daughter and son-in-law. Every time I worked on it to get it ready to send, my daughter made me do something else that was fun. :) Which meant I never got it sent. :)
Have a happy Thursday!!!

Beautiful Parrot, Ugly Fish
Wouldn't you love to have a good feather day any day? No muss or fuss with feather styles. No dying the feathers. Just look like this no matter the weather? This was one ugly fish. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There was another in the water that loved him and thought he was the most beautiful fish alive. I'm sure. :)
Have a super great Wednesday!!!

Rainforest Parrots
One of the things I loved about visiting Moody Gardens rainforest was that I could take pictures of what you might find in Jaguar Fever or Savage Hunger, but without the expense of going to the Amazon and dealing with the bugs. No jaguars in sight though, so I have to make up my own. :)
Note that even though the birds could fly anywhere, they paired up and remained color coordinated. They were truly beautiful. As I was taking pictures of the red parrots, a green bird of some sort flew over my head and was so close I felt it! Luckily, it didn't give me any presents. :)
Happy Tuesday!!Terry

Don't Look Up!
These monkeys roam free in Moody Gardens rainforest. So if they swing overhead, don't look up!The top one ran across the railing you hold onto, then came into the walkway to sit on a post for a photo op!
The next monkey had a companion, but he stayed in the trees and didn't come that close and moved constantly. They had zoo personnel watching the people and the monkeys, making sure no one grabbed for them. One girl screamed when the monkey at top got into her space. Of course the monkey tore off. Humans can definitely be more frightening.
The ones below were territorial. The keeper said if you get into their area, they make a ruckus.
I get a lot of backsides of animals. They move too quickly while the camera is attempting to focus. :)
Off to shop in a little bit !
Have a super Monday!

Knight in Shining Armor?
Do you get this with a knight in shining armor? Nah, he couldn't afford the castle. :) You need the rich dude. :)
We're off to Moody Gardens in a little while. :) Took the kids years ago when my mother came with us and we waited out a tropical storm that hit Houston during the day and hit Galveston at night. In circled like that the whole time we were there. So we luckily were able to enjoy the beaches and gardens and boat trip. But Houston was badly flooded. Deadly Secrets, one of the books I'm working on, was set on Galveston Island during that storm. :)
Have fun on your Saturday!

It's Time for a Well-Deserved Break!
I've been working on a new cover for The Dark Fae this morning, trying to redo it because for the audiobook they now want 2400x2400 and my program hung up. But I'm ready for a well-deserved break! Margaritas! A visit to a tropical paradise!
Well, it's not happening quite like that. But I'm going to have lots of other fun anyway and I'll share that too! :)
Have a super great Friday!!!

Breaking up Is Hard to Do
Breaking Up
Have you ever broken up with a person or broken up with some thing? It's hard to do, isn't it? It all has to do with change.
People like constants in their lives. Sitting in the same place in class/church/on the bus/subway. When I was taking psychology courses, the instructor made us move to a different seat after we had found our own seats, our comfort zone, for 2-3 weeks.
Even a silly change like that is disturbing! It's like breaking up with the people around you--you're used to them, and now you're sitting by other people you've never been this "close" to before. It's crazy, yet we're creatures of habit.
I was selecting seating on 12 different planes for 12 different flights, and you know what? I was doing the same thing. Picking out seats in the same spots for virtually every flight. And then? Someone was sitting in my seat on two of them!

Or watching a favorite show and all of a sudden the series takes off in a totally different direction and you're not willing to go that way?
I don't normally think about where the highway narrows from four lanes to three on the way home because for years--about 12--a second overpass warns me to move over to the left as the lane turns from two to one. Twice now, I've forgotten to move over because? No overpass!!!! In the middle of the night, they took it down!!!
I suspect they intend to widen the highway to four lanes through there, yet it's one of those icons that tells my brain that I need to do something. Sure there's a sign that tells me to move over, but the overpass is much more visible. Or has been. Was.
When my dad asked if we wanted to move, I was always ready. So it's not like I'm a total stick in the mud.
But when it comes to food, same thing. Have you ever gone to a restaurant, looking forward to your favorite special dish they ALWAYS serve and the only one you've REALLY gotten hooked on and...horrors, they've removed it from the menu? You can look everywhere, ask your server, beg the cook, but it's gone. And you're stuck with having to try something new.
Breaking up is hard to do. [image error]
In Dead of the Night Allan Thompson had to break up with his unfaithful wife after nine years of marriage and now he's back to taking care of another woman who needs his protection. Only breaking up with her isn't in the plans.
