Valentine's Blog Hop

Welcome to the Valentine's Day Blog Hop!! I have the pleasure of hosting Heather Lyons <3 She is so fabulous and if you haven't had a chance to check her out yet, you need to!Check out her exclusive content! And don't forget to like her FB Page, follow her on Twitter and add the hashtag to the giveaway for lots of chances to win awesome prizes!!!

Please Welcome Heather Lyons!!!

I get asked at least several times a week when Kellan Whitecomb’s novella is going to come out. Truth time: I don’t have an answer for that. Actually, I don’t know if it will come out, to be honest (please don’t stone me! haha!). BUT! I know you Fate fans love seeing bits of Kellan’s POV, so I’m bringing out an unedited exclusive for you here today. For those of you familiar with the series, this scene takes place near the end of A Matter of Heart. I know this is, on the surface, a tough scene—but it’s also one rooted in deep, true love. Enjoy! --Heather

It really hits me then, like—really hits me. He’s loved her his whole life. And she’s loved him in return. Not just crushed on him, but really, truly loved him. She may love me, too—there’s no doubt in my mind about that—but he’s been her constant her whole life, and she his.
She loves you.
He doesn’t look away from the wall. In fact, his eyes close at my insistence. It’s then I see that, in his hand, is her ring. Her Connection ring. She never took it off, not even when kissing me. And now here it is, in his hand and not on her finger.
Our suspicions are now validated. She ran. She purposely left.
Gods.
He whispers in my mind, She loves you more.
It’s his grief talking. He knows as well as I that that’s the biggest lie he could ever utter. If Chloe Lilywhite loved me more, she wouldn’t have left. She never would have broken up with me back in high school. Guilt wouldn’t eat her alive for what she feels toward me. No, J.
He doesn’t need to tell me what’s he’s thinking. His heart does it for him. She left him. Just . . . up and left without a single word. Things were tough, yeah. Worse than tough. Brutal is even a weak word for what we’ve lived through, actually. But there’s something to be said about the comfort of love, even when it’s tumultuous. Our mother died and left us. When she died, our father abandoned us—at least emotionally, which is far worse than physically. Joey died. Hannah disappeared that day, too, even if her body didn’t give out until last year. Since Joey’s death, outside of Astrid and Callie, we really only ever have had each other. Love—real love, the kind that nourishes you—has been a rare, precious commodity in our lives.
No, that’s not right. Jonah always had Chloe, too. And now, because of me, he doesn’t.
Her disappearance is a kick to the balls, but, if I’m being honest, I’m used to it. I’ve learned to live with the pain that comes with not being with Chloe. Whenever I was, life as Technicolor fabulous. I was a drug addict, and just had my latest hit. Life was good, birds were singing, rainbows were in the sky, goodness prevailed, and all that other sappy bullshit love supposedly brings. And then, each time she’s left me, the crash comes. Every joint in my body aches, every muscle throbs. Fifty pounds of dead weight hovers on each shoulder, and I can’t sleep—because I dream about her—and it sucks to stay awake, because I obsess about her. Alcohol is only a temporary fix at best, as are adrenaline rushes and sex.
There’s a scene in The Little Mermaid (Chloe made me watch that once, when we were dating in high school) where this sea witch turns mermaids into shriveled little worms that litter the floor of her cave after they give her whatever it is she desires. It’s like they’re husks of their former selves, just the barest essence of what once existed. It wasn’t until at least a year after I saw that movie when I realized I’ve allowed myself to become one of those wizened worms.
And now, godsdammit, so has my brother.
I’m sick to my stomach and so furious with Chloe I can barely see straight. I’m sorry, I tell him. So, so sorry.
You have nothing to apologize for.
This is so like Jonah. Always bearing the full weight of responsibility on his shoulders, whether or not it’s his to bear. It’s always been like this. He’s always stepped up and taken the hit. For years, whenever I pissed off the Old Man, my brother would stand in between us and took the blame. He took the punishments. I skated by, charmed, because my brother was forced to age way before his time, thanks to our mother’s death. He took care of me—and then, when Joey died, Hannah. Astrid tried her best, but when the Old Man refused to let her be around us as kids, it was Jonah who stepped up to the plate. He was the glue that held us together. And now, he thinks all of this is his fault. That, had he only been, shit, I don’t know, more. More understanding, more giving, more capable of letting go, more . . . more any fucking unrealistic thing that what he already is, that he’s already been, she wouldn’t have left.
She left because of me. Loving me has broken that girl. And now? It’s broken my brother, all because I’m the selfish asshole who couldn’t leave well enough alone.
My brother doesn’t need to be more. He’s always been fine, exactly how he is.
I lay down on my back, on her bed next to him, and stare up at the ceiling, feeling like the shittiest, lousiest excuse for a sibling to ever exist. So I choose to say something supremely uncool for a guy to even consider saying, even to his own twin. I love you. You know that, right? We need to stop forgetting that she’s our only Connection. Because, J . . . the Connection I have with you is the one I’d never, ever wish away. I don’t know who to be if I’m not your brother.
He doesn’t roll over, doesn’t even more. But I feel his love, strong as ever. Stronger, even. He feels the same way, thank gods.
I have no idea what’s going to happen. I don’t know if we’ll find her. If she’ll ever come back. But I do know this: I’m done forgetting that . . . you and I? We’re forever, too. And nothing—no one—will ever come between us again. Not even her.
And then he says something that leaves my chest aching and me wondering what in the worlds I can do to fix any of this. He says, I’m done. I’m done with all of this. I can’t . . .
He doesn’t finish. He doesn’t have to, not when I know exactly what he means. Of course I do. I’m in his head. He’s in mine. He’s part of me, and I’m part of him. We were once one, after all.
I don’t say anything else, either. We lay there together on that bed long past sunset, just like we did when we were kids after our mother died and felt so godsdamn lost, we had no idea what to do. And here we are again, feeling the same way.
Resolution and determination fill me up. I will fix this. I have to. I don’t know how, but I will.
I cannot lose my brother.

BOOK BLOGGERS ROCK

BOOK BLOGGERS ROCK
I have always adored bloggers, and in truth in the beginning I feared them more than agents and publishers combined. But today, as I go through the final steps of setting up a scavenger hunt for my latest release I have decided they are EPIC.

Over half the prizes donated to this hunt were not given by ‪#‎authors‬. They were donated by ‪#‎bloggers‬. They gave swag, cash, and ebooks. Money and time from their own pockets given to other readers. Given in the name to broadcast a new release. Money they earned and surely could have found a thousand places to spend it other than this event.

I am truly humbled by them. These people receive zero compensation. They have a life outside of this book world, jobs, and families. And still, they read. They read and they promote and they communicate. They bring awareness and offer their honest opinion, saving the rest of us precious time, that no one seems to have, by telling us what to expect so we know if we want to indulge or not. These people live by what I enjoy expressing in my writing - they live by passion. They do this because they want to, not because they have to. They do it because they found something they love and want to share it. Releasing a book is never easy, it’s an emotional journey that will test every part of you. I’m so grateful to have so many wonderful people standing at my side, sometimes too silently, too obscure.

Exaltation New Release & Free Books!

I have some good news! And it’s all about Exaltation, the next novel in the Web of Hearts Souls Set.

This novel is unique. I realize I say that about most of the books just before they emerge! (and in some way I try to make sure each novel does, in fact, have its own voice.)

The reason I say this is unique is because in some way it is a prequel to the entire Web of Hearts Set, along with the Adult Paranormal Serial, Edge.

The core of the story Raven BellaRose and her family tell us takes place when she is seventeen. Which means somewhere in the fictional world Willow, Charlie, Madison, and Indie are also seventeen—we do not encounter them until they are near the age of nineteen in their own novels.

Raven and her family touch on nearly every common aspect of the novels. Such as new souls, old souls—reincarnation, The Selected, Escorts, alternate dimensions, the Veil, The Realm, and of course, the ultimate prophecy of the rising Sovereign’s (the soul mates at the heart of every story) who will have to slay five Escorts before they take their reign. This novel has been patiently waiting for its turn to be released to the public and as its time neared I decided to strive to give this story, and each of the stories it prequels, the best chance I could in the literary world.
With that being said—here is my GOOD NEWS. The publishing house of Amazon has asked to preview Exaltation exclusively for thirty days.

During this thirty-day period a sample of the novel, the cover, and blurb will be posted on their site. Clearly, they want to see if there is an interest in the story they are screening. What is awesome about this is READERS can nominate the story. AND IF the publishing house of Amazon selects this story to publish, EVERY reader who nominated the story receives an EARLY copy to read and review, and of course to thank you for nominating the novel.
No matter if it is selected or not, the novel will be published to the general public shortly after the preview time. It would make my day, my week, month, year—all I want for Christmas—if you could take a second to nominate this novel, and if you have one more second share the link with others!
Here is the link!

Nominate

https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/18KI...
I have also set up a Thunderclap campaign, it is an awesome service where you click your social network, and on the end date everyone who did will tweet, or post at once about this project—which will help, no doubt!
Click  here:  Thunder IT!
Also! A different department of Amazon has been hosting the novels Impulsion and Rivulet exclusively for the last few months. As a thank you, they have allotted a few days where the novels are free. So, if you have not had a chance to pick up these novels or would like to 'one click' them as stocking stuffer gifts this is your (last) chance. The dates Impulsion will be available for a free download are Dec 12 &13.

The dates for Rivulet will be available for a free download are Dec 14-16. I want to thank you all for your continued support of these daydreams—readers make the gift of writing downright epic.

I hope you all are having a warm, safe holiday season!

EDGE! The latest from me - and you are in control!

I’m extremely excited to tell you all about my next release!
EDGE is an Adult Paranormal Serial.

Serial’s are by no means a new concept but one that has been forgotten over time, and now in this modern world they seem to be taking flight once more.

The best way to explain how these are written is to state they are like episodes you watch of your favorite shows. Each one has its own conflict, but there is a larger conflict that stretches across the entire season.

Season one of EDGE is the same length that three and a half of my novels would equal. Each episode is four chapters long.

This is not the classic love story that I have written in the past, centered on one couple. This dynamic cast of paranormal bikers, immortal witches, and modern day lawmen, along with the classic ‘bad guys’ all collide to offer a mystic mystery, that impacts each character in some way.

Though this story is not connected to the YA Web of Hearts, you will find common ground between the two, common characters, and terms.

As of now each episode is scheduled to be released every two weeks. Here’s the catch – YOU – as the reader have the power over the publish button.

At the end of each episode there will be a link to my website, and there you will find an image you can share with one click. If the shares reach their target before the two week point the next episode will go out immediately. How fun is that?

The first episode is set to be released on August 25th, but you have the power to change that! All you have to do is share! (That link to share will be posted as soon as it’s live on my website authorjamiemagee.com).

It is my personal goal to make this series as interactive as possible. I have set up a Pinterest board for this serial and LOVE it when readers send images/ music to be added to it. I also plan to find a chat room for us all to gather in once a month to chat about the story! ( more info on that soon!) Okay, here you go! Have a look at what this story is all about!

Reveca Beauregard had long ago been dubbed the Queen of Darkness by the dead. To the living she was known as the Pentacle Daughter, the only acknowledged female member of the Pentacle Sons MC, the most lethal biker correlation known to exist. She was rumored to be a witch. That rumor, of course, was true.

New Orleans was her home, at the Beauregard Boneyard, the safe haven the Club resided within. Only those in the inner circle were as Reveca was—immortal. To be as such you had to choose the life, and the life had to choose you. For either to occur, death came first.
Those deaths came from wars the Sons fought with both the mortal and immortal worlds, as they bent the decrees of the modern lawmen and the paranormal world at large who had no hope of opposing the dark splendor of their vengeance.
Presently, the mysterious murder of a mortal coupled with the cold-blooded slaying of Reveca’s close friend has led the lawmen to place their corrupt accusations upon the Sons. A forced barter with a Lord of Death has landed the Club with a soul that is set to rock the foundation the Sons as a whole stand upon.

The EDGE

THE EDGE! I have some exciting news! My next release is a new adult paranormal MC (motorcycle) story! (8/25/14)
^ That's a fun idea, I know! But what is awesome is that this story is a serial. I'm sure all of you lifted your brow at that, honestly I did too when the idea to publish this massive story in this fashion was presented to me.

Serial's are awesome and most definitely not a new thing, but more so one of those deals that have been around for generations - some of my favorite classics were written in this fashion. Here is the long and short of it - each episode is four chapters long (around 20k words), and there are twelve in every season. The episodes will publish every two weeks - unless the readers say otherwise (more on that later!). The episodes will resolve and issue as they simultaneously build to solve a conflict that stretches across the entire season.

The cover reveal is not until 8/11 but I wanted to give a sneak peak of this story before hand - so here is the trailer! If you'd like to help share the news of the release there is also a link right here where you can sign up to do so!

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/12WqF...
I want to share the EDGE
