A Matter of Heart takes place right after A Matter of Fate. Chloe is now living in Annar and struggling with the expectations of being the creator. After a brutal attack by the Elders,Chloe's life is once again turned upside down. Accusations start to fly throughout the Council and Guard. To make matters worse, Kellan finally shows up after being gone for months and is avoiding Chloe.......The one positive and consistent thing in her life is Jonah. Jonah love

6 stars.

This series may actually kill me. I’m talking physical pain, catatonic and heartbroken. But YES, I love it! I’m a glutton for punishment! I don’t know what it is about these books (A Matter of Fate is book 1, see my review here)… I am so deeply invested in these characters. And as much as I have loved so many of the books I’ve read in the past months, it’s been a long time since I’ve been this hooked and connected to a series.

Consuming. Devouring. Debilitating. Distressing.

My Review
This is the second book in the Fate series by Heather Lyons. I had extremely high expectations for this book. Book one: A Matter of Fate is on my best reads of 2013. And I am very conflicted on this review, and here is why...
Heather writes such compelling characters, I am too involved with how I think these characters should act which only gives credit to Lyons writ

I stayed up until the wee hours of the night reading this book. Eep!!! It had me on the edge of my bed the entire time!

This book had a lot of romance in it and was the perfect build up for book 3. I love romantic triangles, personally. I'm always wondering who they are going to choose and why.

The two guys, Jonah and Kellan are hottie brothers who both have a connection with Chloe. This created a lot of tension in the book and kept the story interesting.

I love the world of Annar and Jonah and

This series has the most agonizing love triangle I have ever encountered and A Matter of Heart left me shattered to pieces at the end. The plot thickens and the romance becomes so intense that I was dazed when I finished this book. I can only imagine what A Matter of Truth will do to me but from the end of AMOH, I know it won’t be pretty. The writing is so fantastic and the characters are incredibly developed. I have never connected with a series as

A Matter of Heart, the second book in the Fate Series and it’s absolutely captivating. I was lost in world filled with Magicals and it was heart-stopping the entire time, dare I say it was even more intense than the first book. Don’t even get me started on the Elders…I think they aged me!

Heather Lyons is simply said, a brilliant author and she has the ability to create characters that are complex and filled with depth that go along with a story that is incredibly colorful and heart wrenching. He

I am so in love with this series!! But man does it have me all sorts of conflicted!

This is the most heartbreaking triangle I have read in a long time. Damn you Fate and your Connections! I am surprised to say this but.. I think from this book alone I am Team Kellan... Jonah is amazing, I get that. He's understanding and forgiving.. But he's also secretive. I feel like I hardly know him at all. Whereas Kellan has always been so forthcoming and fully committed to having something with Chloe. I ca

Not many books bring out so many emotions for me but this one definitely does. Loved this book, especially how it ended. I'm excited to find out what happens next!

My Thoughts:

I read A Matter of Fate, back in February, when I got a tour invite, and was interested by the book synopsis. Little did I know, that this book would absolutely blow me away. It became a favorite of mine. So, as you can imagine, when I had the opportunity to review the sequel, A Matter of Heart, I was filled with excitement! Ms. Lyons delivered an amazing sequel! I just can't seem to get enough of this series! I devoured this book (almost 400 pages, ) and before I knew it, I had fin

Wow, this series. I've never been in more emotional turmoil as I have been reading these books. Seriously, it makes my heart absolutely ache. A Matter of Heart picks up a bit after A Matter of Fate. Chloe is living in Annar, working on the Council, and engaged to Jonah. However, as happy as Chloe pretends to be on the outside, she is anything but. Kellan, while out of the picture, is never far from her mind. When she is with Jonah, the heartache isn't quite so bad, but when they are a

A Matter of Heart by Heather Lyons was so, so amazing. Heather did a fabulous job with this sequel. Sometimes, the second book in a series isn’t as good as the first book; it just can’t live up to the hype of the first book. But that is ABSOLUTELY NOT the case with A Matter of Heart – it stands on its own and is an overall amazing read!

As with A Matter of Fate, this book sucks you in from the very first page and takes you on a wild ride. There’s an action scene almost immediately, followed by a

A Matter of Heart is the second book in the Fate series and is a story that probably you want to read if you want to run the full gamut of emotions because the author knows how to toy with them, something not many writers can do. The fact that this is a fantasy book is a plus for me because in the category of NA there is hardly any fantasy stories yet on my radar that are worth reading. The sequel to the A Matter of Fate follows with the tale of Chloe, Jon

This series is turning out to be a favorite of mine, A Matter of Heart is the second book in the series and it picks up not too long after the first book ended. Chloe is now on the council but is still pretty much clueless about the world of magicals, she chose Jonas and is not living happily next door to him… and life haws been moving on, sorta…

I think what I like most about this book is that the idea behind the story is pretty original, and the way the author is able to write the story you ca

The first book in this series broke my heart. This one tore it open and ripped it to shreds. This follow up to A Matter of Fate continues the story of Chloe and her challenge to save her kind. And, as if that’s not enough, Fate has dealt her a cruel hand…she is connected to two brothers – a physical and emotional bond that can’t be broken. My heart gets heavy just thinking about it!

I fell in love with the Whitcomb twins and Chloe with Lyon's first book A Matter of Fate. But this book made me feel every emotion so intensely as I read about the weight of the world on Chloe's shoulder. How can a girl of only 18 deal with so much? Well, she does the best she can but she is faced with so many huge decisions that you can't help but feel for her. Many would think that having a connection would be the best, but for Chloe she has two and putting her in an almost impossible situati ...more

I devoured A Matter of Fate in a couple of days and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on A Matter of Heart. Chloe Lilywhite has taken her place as Creator on the council and is immediately assigned challenging missions right out of the gate. Being put in a powerful yet stressful position at such a young age provides Chloe with so many conflicted emotions that it was hard to watch at times as she struggled with these difficult decisions. She has a terrible burden placed on her shoulders and I was i ...more

A Matter Of Heart is simply an amazing follow up to A Matter Of Fate. Let me just start out by saying Heather Lyons you are a cruel cruel women with this book! (hahaha just kidding) Lord I had so much emotion reading this book. I laughed, I cried, and I screamed at my Kindle like a nut job. I have to say I love love triangles because it is like watching a train wreck happen and you want no need to see what happens next. Heather has done a GREAT job with this triangle because if you have read the ...more

Review abridged from my book review blog, Reading the Alphabet.

A Matter of Heart opens shortly after the end of A Matter of Fate. Chloe Lilywhite, now 18, is right where fate said she would be: living in Annar, attending the university there, and having accepted her place as a Creator. Much like in the first book, Chloe does not embrace her role, angry over all that Fate has thrown her. Sure, creating things is cool, but there are two sides to that coin and the flip side is the opposite of creat

I think Heather Lyons is becoming one of my favorite authors. I don't know if my heart has ever hurt as much reading books as it has throughout these two books.

And I'm seriously dying for the next book in this series. I don't know how I'm going to wait to see what happens!

I loved this book as much as the first, which is rare. It grabbed me and didn't let me go. It made me question the beliefs I held throughout the entirety of the first book. It broke my heart and made me feel Chloe's pain, confu

This series is no joke. It will tear and claw at you until you are raw with emotion. A Matter of Heart punches you right in the gut and teaches us that Fate can be a cruel, cruel women that seems to have every intention of leaving broken hearts in it's wake.

Chloe has made her decision and seems to be living a happy life with Jonah, however all is not what it appears to be. Chloe life has always been dictated to her and moving to Annar is no different. Instead of slowly being introduced into her

UGH. This book was so good, but I just wanted the throttle Chloe 90% of the time. She was very Kiera-esque from Thoughtless in this book. So very selfish throughout! And then she kept saying how guilty she felt - YES you should feel guilty! But did that stop her from acting extremely selfish the next minute? No. UGH! I am team Jonah, have been and continue to be. I like Kellan well enough, but it KILLED me how she would open up to Kellan but not Jonah! SO. Frustrating. I h
This is my favorite series for 2013. Heather Lyons is the Queen of the love triangles. The second book has me flip-flopping as to whom Chloe should choose. First I want her to be with Kellan, then I want her to be with Jonah, then Kellan and vice versa. I have never read a book like this where I want the heroine to be with both guys. The two twins are hot, gorgeous, sexy and emotional. Where Kellan is passionate and a thrill seeker, Jonah is solid and calm. Heather wrote this book so well that I ...more

I need the next book, now! :/ Why oh why is November still a couple months away...

I feel so sorry for Chloe and the boys. I really feel for all of them. There is no clean cut choice in the matter. All of them are always going to hurt in some way. I completely understand why she does what she does at the end of this book.

But dang it, my heart hurts. I know who I want for her but that doesn't mean I dont love the other choice as well. Even though I've obviously never been through what Chloe, Kell

This series is MARVELOUS! The second book of this series was even better than the first, and I didn't think that was possible. Heather Lyons is such an intelligent writer, I admit there was a word (or two) I had to look up in the dictionary :-) Even though most of the characters are young, they are so complex. Who doesn't enjoy being tortured by a love triangle, involving twin brothers ? Toss in a little magic and the fate of the world, and you have an absolute winner! There is a cliffhanger, so ...more

Heather Lyons never ceases to amaze me... Chloe's journey continues in the second installment of the third Fate book. And if possible, I think I love this book more than the first. Which is ridiculous considering I love the crap out of the A Matter of Fate. This book is even more angsty than the first, and we all know how much I love angst. Once again, it was almost too much for me to handle. The emotions from this book are freaking unreal. But, the good news is I've finally decided I love Kella ...more

I love this series. I was so impressed as to how the author was really able to make me feel all of Chloe's emotions to the point that I am at a lost for what I think she should do and what would be the best for her. I think that she needs to figure out why she has a Connection to two people besides the reason that they are twin. I am not sure that she is becoming physically ill because of stress or because there is something poisonous about her double connection. I still am not sure which brothe ...more

I think this is the first series that I have absolutely NO idea who I want the main character to end up with! Although the logical answer would be Jonah cause of the whole meeting in their dreams thing, Kellan won't be so bad either because they both make Chloe better in their own ways. There were times when I really wanted to hate Chloe especially with her tendency to overreact, but all I could do was sympathize with her because of the state of turmoil she constantly had to live in. I can't ima ...more
