Special Guest Mindi Ferrari

Special guest Mindi Ferrari is here today, sharing some of her poetry

***

Hi Lisa and thanks for having me its an honor to grace your blog today.

One subject has plagued me my entire life. It has come too be the one subject that the majority of men or women usually become too shy to show off. It takes a special person too have this talent and while I do have this incredible gift or skill, I must say for me it is much more sexy when my partner can do it even better. Now this mouth water, brain consuming, sinful desire, that makes us weak in our knees and our ears beg for more whispers of its delectable tone. Our hearts crave its kneading and intimate tempo. And last but not least everything feels right in our world when none other than poetry or a sexy story has been written for us.

Someone has kept us in mind, they reveled and used us as a muse, or wrote a beautiful poem that inspired even more incredible imaginary too pour from their minds. I have always wrote poetry, but for me mine took an entirely different turn when I met the love of my life. This fire deep within my soul erupted too the point too where words were being expressed from the deepest parts my heart has too offer. I too received some of the most beautiful poetry one could ask for. His poetry and words are what made me fall head over heels in love so fast I couldn’t breath.
During this process of poetry was where I wrote and brought together a lot of my poetry and shorts stories. I knew that if someone could make me feel this incredible, too bringing forth a language and expel this intense desire with each poem I read, then it need too be shared. I have written so many different genres but my main focus was always on the dark seduction, the intimate poetry you read and write the one you love.
It has also became a part of my life to encourage those around me and that are fans of my writing too dabble and do the same. Everyone lives and craves a beautiful sentiment, whether it be written for or by them. So without further ado I’d love too give you a simple taste of one of my poems and simply ask you too take it in

My Darling Lover

I clasp your hand and hold patiently for our embrace
We need not fear darling because all will be erased
Eyes closed so tight you feel dizzy standing still
It’s a cold dark feeling, nonetheless,
But we both must keep up that will
I can kiss your lips and tell you all will all be right
However I know how you feel, I feel it every night
It’s okay if the air leaves your lungs fast
That panicked feeling will and must pass
Your heart may speed to unbelievable beats
But my darling, my lover, please let’s no longer weep
I give you my strength I have right now
And ask you to remember this close bond we have
as I wipe your tears streaming from your face
You know no one could ever take your place

Every single one of my poems I try too not only listen too my heart but I try too focus on the emotions and feelings of others. Sinful Writings became the forefront of my Writing and my website. it also showed the vulnerable side of myself that I hid for years. This book is available anywhere e-books are sold and its also for sale in print on amazon and Barnes and noble. From touching your soul, too teasing your naughty side, bits and pieces will make you laugh and want more. This is  just a taste of whats inside my sinfully, erotic book, ”Sinful Writings” for more information. Six Sentence Sunday

Here are six sentences from Knightly Desire, my medieval-esque fantasy romance coming soon from Ellora’s Cave. (If I ever get done with edits!)

With a pained grunt, he rolled over and got out of the bed. He stood with his back to the door and she could see the powerful muscles in his legs quivering as they strained to bear his weight. She clenched her fists, sending him silent cheers of encouragement. He was weak, that much was certain, but he remained upright and Gabrielle’s heart soared, fiercely proud of his strength.

When he turned, she gasped involuntarily, pressing her eye tighter against the keyhole.

Too Much Clutter

I really need to clean off my desktop. Or at least finish all these things. Or maybe run away and take a vacation to a topical island instead and leave my laptop at home.

*Sigh*

How does your desktop look?

I Would Not Measure Up

I’ve been watching a lot of post-apocalyptic type TV recently (The Walking Dead, Lost) and I have come to realize that I would not fair nearly as well as these people in the event of a zombie apocalypse.

First of all, without the benefit of wax, a razor, and my hair stylist, I would very quickly become a yeti.

Seriously. And that would be me on a good day.

Also, no coffee.

I wouldn’t even make it through the first hour.

And I don’t cook. At all. I need a team of chefs to make it through any given Tuesday, let alone an apocalypse.

So maybe it was good that we all made it to 2013. It would not have been pretty otherwise.

The Haunting of a Character by Louisa Bacio

The fablous Louisa Bacio is here today talking about Nick Stake and her The Vampire, The Witch & The Werewolf series.

The Haunting of a Character By Louisa Bacio

First, thank you so much to Lisa for hosting me today. I’m a real fan of Ms. Fox, and her own work, so that makes today’s visit even more special.

Get out of my head.

Seriously. I don’t need a punk-ass, slang-talking N’awlins’ bad boy whispering sweet lines of dialogue in my mind. I’m crazy enough as it is.

For some reason, Nick Stake doesn’t seem to want to listen to me. Not only is he hauntingly hawt in a total fantasy way, he’s downright persistent.

I first met Nick in book 2 of my erotic paranormal series “The Vampire, The Witch & The Werewolf” Chains of Silver. Here’s the first glimpse/description:

She liked his strong demeanor and the fact that she still looked up into his eyes. His creamy mocha-toned skin contrasted with his long, blond dreads and pale brown eyes that appeared catlike. He wore a white tank top, and as he turned slightly to the side to check out a disturbance, Silver admired the pointed stake tattooed on his shoulder.

The author/designer Lex Valentine did a great job capturing his essence in the video trailer for Chains of Silver.

But their story wasn’t done yet, or so I later learned. No, Nick continued to want to have his way with me. As if. And, Silver had some ideas of her own. Hence, book 4, The Wolfe Pack. An exhilarating novel to write, The Wolfe Pack advances their story, and especially since Nick is such an “active” participant, the writing went fairly easy.

Sometimes, though, these strong characters act out even more. They tend to not listen to me, as the writer, and the creator of their world. Yes, that means Nick knows better than me what he wants within his life, and for his future. I don’t want to give out any more spoilers. If you haven’t read it yet, start out with book 2 Chains of Silver, which first introduces this bad boy, and stay tuned for more. In February, Ravenous Romance will release the novella Mirabella’s Mardi Gras Ménage and Nick’s made sure he plays a featured role.

The Vampire, The Witch & The Werewolf 4: The Wolfe Pack

Silver Ashe can’t let go of the desire to find her birth father and the urge to join a pack. Against the wishes of her brother, Trevor, and her vampire-lover, Nick, Silver leaves New Orleans for the woods of Louisiana.

As the guard and a dominant member of the Wolfe Pack, Viktor isn’t too sure of the city-dwelling stranger who comes trespassing. With the lack of female werewolves, Viktor soon sees Silver as a potential mate. Too bad she’s already spoken for by a bloodsucker.

Trapped between worlds, Silver’s faced with choosing between the lover she’s known most of her life, and the budding relationship with Viktor, where her future may lay. It’ll take some sweet talking and a whole lot of loving for Silver to find her place within the pack.

Should I Renew My RWA Membership?

Renewal time has come for me and I find myself seriously asking if I should renew or not. I’ve been a member of RWA for a few years now and as I think it over, the only things I have gotten out of my enrollment fee were a discount to the RT Convention and a monthly magazine.  It doesn’t seem worth it anymore.

Which is why I’ve decided to ask you all for your opinions. Should I renew my RWA membership? What do you get out of belonging to RWA? Do they actually do anything for you? Provide any kind of helpful service? I literally get a magazine from them once a month. That is it. So I’m wondering what else they do and how I can—if it is even possible—maximize my investment.

Maybe a lot of my problem is that my local RWA chapter is a joke. I’ve never met the ‘president,’ she doesn’t participate in any of the online forum discussions, in fact the forum is nothing more than two people’s person promo space. I get messages like, “I’ve written a blog post! Come check it out!” I wish I was kidding. I am not.

They also don’t hold meetings because it might snow. Snow is very dangerous even when it doesn’t snow at all. Because it could. It was in the forecast for the week after all, so maybe we shouldn’t chance it. And when they do hold meetings, it is a bunch of women sitting in the B&N coffee shop talking about how maybe they’d like to get published one day. Possibly. If they can find the time. No speakers. No workshops. No exchange of ideas.

So I’m really, really wondering, what does RWA do for me? What do I get for my $95 other than the ability to say, “I belong to RWA”?

I’d love for you all to tell me if you would what you get out of your membership. Because I’m sure there are things that I’m missing. There have to be. It can’t all just be a magazine subscription. Right?
