I find it Beautiful
I must say (blog) that I have met some amazing Authors. Whether it was through Goodreads or Twitter, there are some Authors and Readers alike who give so much support. I find it beautiful that most Authors are willing to help a fellow Author with retweets, facebook LIKEs, and or giving tips on how to get better results on any social media.
Not to mention the Readers who for the LOVE OF BOOKS will share your information to their friends and leave comments on your first Author Interview because they know you are extremely nervous about it.
In a business that is extremely difficult to distinguish yourself from the herd in order to raise book sales; the support, the frienship, and the feeling of camaraderie is heart felt. At least for me it is.
So, I end this blog with a gigantic THANK YOU to you all, Authors and Readers alike, for all of your support. I look forward to meeting more.

Prepare to Write!!
How do I begin this blog? Let's see...Hello, my name is Lydia, and I am a snacker. There! I said it! I admit it!
Of all the things a writer prepares before writing; paper, pen, computer, music, etc., I found that snacking plays an important role for me.Snack of choice? Peanuts! There is just something about the crunch that gets my creative mind going. Weird? I don't know, but it can be any flavor: Hot, sweet, or my favorite, lemon & salt flavor.
So, as I prepared to write the other day, I began to wonder... Am I the only one? Do you have something in particular you snack on before writing? Some kind of ritual like a certain pen, type of paper, kind of music, or in your pajamas?
What about you Readers? How do you prepare yourself to read a book? I tend to snuggle up in a warm blanket, crank up the AC (hot months only), and grab a cup of coffee. I've even heard of someone reading in the bathtub, which sounds pretty great.
Don't worry though, you can tell me. It will be just between you and me. (wink)

Time
Wow! This has been a crazy busy month! Getting ready for back to school should be marathon. I have 5 kids, and they all go to different schools. So, yeah marathon!
Anyway, I have not had any time to write or read. I pass by my desk, where the book I was reading still lays, and my heart sinks everytime. I especially miss writing. It's like I can't breath.
It is definately not easy to balance the work you love, with the life you live.
Have to run!

Good guy vs Bad boy
In some Romance novels, the girl has to choose between the good guy or the bad boy image. In THE GUARDIAN, I have the good guy as a Guardian Angel who falls in love with a human woman names Sarah. The bad boy is Seth, a Fallen Angel, who seems to have plans for Sarah.
So, Readers. Do you secretly root for the bad boys, or do you always think the good guy should get the girl?

What do you look for in a book trailer?
I've been wanting to make a book trailer for THE GUARDIAN, but I'm not sure what style would be good.
What do you as a reader look for in a book trailer? (Ex: style, music, etc..)

Writing
I have been asked, "Why did I self publish rather than go traditional?"
Well, I don't think you should have to compromise your copyrights in order to be taken seriously. It may take a lot of effort, more trials and errors, but undoubtably worth it.
If you truly love your craft, and you are willing to do the extra work of learning the business (blogging, twittering, facebooking, book signing, and any other -ing), along with improving your writing skills every chance possible, then, it doesn't matter how you get your work out into the world.
Some people may have this preconsieved notions that writers have it easy. Just sitting down at a desk writing a few lines everyday. How difficult is that? Well, it is so much more. It is not for the faint of heart, or for the thin skinned. It is really a labor of LOVE.

The Guardian
Crazy quirky author that plans to rule the world with great novels, barrels of delicious coffee, and tubs full of chocolate covered nuts!! Or at least one blog at a time.
