Friday's Song

On this day in 1565, St. Augustine, Florida - the oldest city in the US - was established.

Sneak Peak: Suburbilicious Cover

As you all know, my novel Subsurdity was just recently reprinted. The artist who did that cover, HvH, will continue to do all the covers in the series if it runs popular. He's taken the motif of a guy lying on the lawn of one of the pristine homes on Jasper Lane and he will play around with it on future covers. And here is a sneak peak at the cover for next month's Suburbilicious:

How I Nearly Went Insane at My Book Signing

I had my signing yesterday at Out Word Bound Bookstore in Indianapolis (in case you missed it when I whorred it out here on the blog), and it was a success. I have a few quibbles with how the event was handled, but all in all it was a great time. Before the signing, my friend Miranda and I had a nice dinner at this wonderful Mediterranean restaurant called Aesop's Tables with a couple of friends. Many friends showed at the signing as well, which is always great. The area where the bookstore is l

Wednesday's Song

On this day in 2005, I had my brain surgery to remove that pesky cavernous himangioma that had been awakened by a fall I took two years previous. Many of my friends - Maxie, Miranda, Catherine, Tessa, Nate - waited with my family at the hospital on word of my condition. I scheduled my book signing for today because on this day every year I try to do something brand new. Second chances, you know.

Fire Island Boys

Okay. This is adorable. And while the song itself is 'meh', the guys are so much fun to watch. They're having a blast! Strange thing is, though, this video makes me a bit sad. I was never able to be that carefree gay boy, and it pisses me off that I let my own hangups get in my way. Oh, well. Maybe next life, eh? And dammit, I BETTER BE GAY IN MY NEXT LIFE or I'm gonna be such a poser! via Towleroad.

Evolution

I've been seeing this all over the place in the last few days. Strong, well-made point:
