Kerrelyn Sparks- Wanted: Dead or Alive Giveaway
Hello everyone! This coming month, I will be giving away a different book each week along with a signed copy of my latest release: HOW TO RAVISH A RAKE.
This week I am giving away a copy of WANTED: DEAD OR ALIVE by Kerrelyn Sparks.
Love at Stake book #12
ISBN# 978-0061958069
E-book price only $4.99!
He’s a vampire from the big city . . .
Phineas McKinney thought New York City was tough, until he was attacked by Malcontents—evil vampires who consider mortals to be snacks. Saved by the good vampires, Phin swore to devote his now undead life to stopping the Malcontents. He’s got his job cut out for him when word comes that their enemy may be hiding in Wyoming. What does a city boy like him know about horses and campfires? Good thing he’s got Brynley Jones with him . . . if only she didn’t hate every vampire on earth.
She’s a werewolf princess . . .
Bryn believes vampires are seductive and charming, and that makes them dangerous. So she’s more than a little annoyed about teaming up with Phin, even if he is the only bloodsucker able to make her inner wolf purr. But as they hunt down the new leader of the Malcontents, danger threatens . . . and Phineas and Brynley discover a passion that will rock the foundation of their supernatural world.
Leave a comment for a chance to win WANTED: DEAD OR ALIVE and HOW TO RAVISH A RAKE (US&CA Only). Vampires and rakes, oh my! Giveaway runs May 1-6.
Kerrelyn Sparks’ first paranormal romance, How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire, zoomed out of the bat cave so fast it became Borders bestselling debut romance of 2005. Each book in the Love at Stake series has become aUSAToday bestseller. When the fourth book,The Undead Next Door, landed on the New York Times bestseller list, even the Undead sat up and took notice, which made Kerrelyn a bit nervous. She lives in the Greater Houston area with her husband, children, and a house full of garlic. So far, there are no vampires in her family. Werewolves are another matter entirely.
You may email Kerrelyn by using the link on the sidebar. She would love to hear from you! Most email will receive a response, except on the night of a full moon.

Triple the Fun
Triple the fun as in my three RITA nominations and my trilogy. So of course, I've just got to do another contest, and the prize is my trilogy. Check out the books and leave a comment starting with the word "Triple." The comment section is always optional, but I at least need one from you that says "I wanna win." LOL. The point is that it's all in good fun. So without further ado, here are the books that are up for grabs to one lucky winner. The contest ends April 30th. (US & Canada Only)
Have fun!
Tales from Butternut Creek
My longtime friend Jane Perrine has a new inspirational book out that I think readers will love. I know I did, because I got to be one of the first readers. I loved it so much! Check out the beautiful cover!
Now, I'll let Jane tell you all about her lovely series!
I never accepted the common wisdom of "Write what you know." If authors stuck to writing what they knew, none of the delightful Regencies of Vicky Dreiling would be in print because she wasn't alive then—were you Vicky? Agatha Christie would never had written her mysteries because, as far as we know, she never killed anyone.
Then I started writing the Tales from Butternut Creek series and realized I was writing exactly what I knew: a minister in a small town church. The Palm Sunday donkey running away with his rider? I was one of the group that grabbed the animal before he could toss the boy off. A minister's fear of counseling a member of the congregation? Been there and survived. The group of women who run the church? I've met them in every church either my husband or I have served. All the stories, all the embarrassing and funny situations we lived came together in these books and I've had such a great time writing them down. Sometimes the memories make me laugh. Hope they'll do the same for you.
But members of a congregation suffer, too, and I cried with them. Those hard times appear in The Welcome Committee of Butternut Creek and the next two books mixed with the humor.
Welcome to Butternut Creek. The parsonage is that big Victorian with the wide porch next to the church. Pull up a chair, settle down, and visit a while.
Leave a comment for a chance to win a copy of Jane's book. I promise you'll love these wonderful characters. (US Only)

RITA & Golden Heart Nominations
This morning was a day that no one in RWA wanted to miss. Why? Because the Golden Heart awards for unpublished authors and the RITA awards for published authors were being announced. Now I just wanted to watch the list of names popping up on the site, because I didn't think I stood a chance at all. The night before I told my friend Shana Galen that I was managing my expectations – below sea level. It's very competitive, because there are so many great Regency historical authors.
This morning the day started out awful. My car had what my mom would call a "hissy fit." This meant I had to get it towed to the shop. Ugh. Then the internet went wonky. All I wanted was to congratulate all the nominees. I have so many wonderful friends in RWA & am a huge fan of many authors. So I was feeling a little frustrated.
The phone rang and I didn't recognize the caller ID. When I picked it up, I didn't hear anything, so I hung up.
The phone rang again. This time when I answered, a very nice lady said she was calling on behalf of RWA to tell me that I had triple finaled.
I'll be honest. I burst into tears.
So here are the deets: HOW TO MARRY A DUKE finaled in best first book and in the Regency Historical category. HOW TO SEDUCE A SCOUNDREL also finaled in the Regency Historical category. I'm a little undone. And very, very excited.
So have you ever unexpectedly gotten an award or recognition of some type that really touched you? Tell me your story!
Oh, and I'm posting some screen shots of the RITA Announcements!

Partying with Barbara Vey!
Party time! It's Barbara Vey's 5th anniversary for the fabulous Beyond Her Book blog. Today I'm bringing bling to the party in the form of a Regency era Cameo necklace. My heroine Amy Hardwick in HOW TO RAVISH A RAKE definitely know the importance of dressing well, and she definitely approves of this necklace and the petty earrings.
My publisher is giving away five copies of HOW TO RAVISH A RAKE at the party! So be sure to stop by and leave a comment at Beyond Her Book.
Cheers!
