Owlet blog tour stop #90 read-along excerpt

Following is the continuing read-along excerpt for stop #90 on the Owlet blog tour. Enjoy!

“Elena was very blunt with me so that I could understand emotions better, emotions like love and friendship instead of the emotions Caleb had taught me. She told me how many people were protecting Izzy and that you were constantly having to pretend to be a full family, moving from place to place to keep them safe, all the while making Roger seem like he had abandoned his family so that if she ever needed to be hidden, he was still in good with the right people. She said that Iris would have been dead if it weren’t for you and Nathaniel; that Nathaniel was always working towards keeping her safe with you.”

“Hmm...you know more than I thought, but definitely not as much as you could. How long has Iris known you were here? Since the first night? I know the hallway door didn’t open itself but there is no sign that you have been living there.”

“Roger had a small house on the other side of the island for Jarem to stay when he was here. Joseph and I took it over since he hasn’t been back.”

“On a breeze from afar she flew;
Forgetting her past and her stolen future;
Afraid and alone until she found home.
The Sparrow found the Fairy Wren,
Her soul mate...”

Both Diana and Falcon froze as they heard Iris singing ever so softly, her voice broken and raw.

“She is still asleep.”

“But she remembers. At least while she dreams.” Falcon sighed.

Owlet blog tour stop #89 read-along excerpt

Following is the continuing read-along excerpt for stop #89 on the Owlet blog tour. Enjoy!

“I think that there is a reason they have thought she was dead all these years. I think you sacrificed your place in the fold to protect her.”

“What makes you think I could have done something so extreme?”

“Roger told me there might be a boy here. He said that if there was I should give him a message. He told me to tell you, ‘Thank you.’ I thought he would mean a young child, someone Joseph might have with him. I know Roger. After hearing what you just told me I can put the pieces together.” She paused, staring into Falcon’s eyes as if looking for the proof she needed in order to trust him. Finally, she smiled. “She has that effect on people, doesn’t she?”

“Yes.”

“I take it you know who I am? Fully, I mean.”

Falcon slowly nodded. “Your name is Diana; you were Elena’s sister by adoption when Nathaniel took you in because of details he decided to keep partially hidden, even from Elena. You were close to Elena, which was the only way you did not catch Caleb’s attention. You went into hiding when Elena did in support of her, but far enough away to create false leads, which was made easier because you are a hawk, like Roger. Though from what Elena told me you are a Red-Tailed Hawk. She joked about your love for shiny things.”

“So you knew that the water wasn’t the only reason I didn’t come here?”

Owlet blog tour stop #88 at Electrifying Reviews

The Owlet blog tour swoops into Electrifying Reviews courtesy of our host, Alex.
Continuing Read-Along Excerpt:Unintentionally, Caleb sent Falcon to meet his true love.
Alex's Review:I’ll just come out and say it: I really enjoyed Owlet. It was very different from most young adult books out there (thanks to Emma Michaels’s incredible imagination) and that really motivated me to read it. The world and mythology Michaels has created is extremely refreshing, especially for someone like me who reads so many books that they all start to seem the same.
