It is a war romance story from World War II, in the 1940's. The setting is the war in the Pacific, specifically the American involvement in the Philippines. There, the American soldiers were ill-prepared for the atrocities they faced.

Grabbed my interest from the first chapter. I could empathize with the characters. I had a hard time putting it down because I needed to know what was going to happen. I would recommend this book to others! ...more

A great read about love in the midst of war. Historically and horrific accurate account of Japan invaded the Philippines, and how unaware our American troops were of the dangers they faced. A lot of care was taken when Joyce Shaughnessy wrote this book, taking pieces of poetry , letters, and military documents, and merging them with in her story. I need help with goodreads. I meant well, but acted too quickly. I want to give ten books to the Filipino book because this book was written about the Philippines in WWII, and I want them to know that the U.S. still appreciates all they did for us. I also followed a self published author suggestion by offering ten books at $5 off of paperback retail price of $20. ($15 american dollars total). Then I got a question about a depository. How do I do this? I have already done one giveaway (No problem) but have never done a depository. I need to know how. If someone can help me, I would appreciate it. Also, I think I told the readers that my book was publiahed only in English. I'm sorry, but I'm ignorant of this. Help!

My newest book

My problem is that, as an author who writes historical fiction. I have a situation I would like to write about, but it in itself is terribly depressing. My problem is how to make it not so depressing by inserting fictional characters who are not depressing but interesting.
