blog tour
Next week I will be embarking on a blog tour! To celebrate the upcoming May 4 release of Something Like Fate, I'll be visiting ten blogs. Each visit will include a guest post discussing a concept related to fate, like astrology, palm reading, and tarot. In the book, Lani and Erin have created a list of ten topics related to fate, one for each month of junior year. Their goal is to learn as much as possible about each topic so that they can be experts on fate by the end of the year. I use...

stand-outs
One thing I love about living in New York is that there are so many amazing things right here. Like Teen Author Reading NIght. David Levithan organizes a few YA authors to read almost every month at the Jefferson Market NYPL, which is like a five-minute walk from my place. Last night was amazing! My friends Elizabeth Scott and Rachel Vail read from their latest books. I would have documented the event for you, but the lighting in there is always kind of weird and every time I try to take...

south beach love
Well, I'm back from a few relaxing days in South Beach. We stayed at the new W South Beach. I am a major fan of W Hotels, with their fun lighting and cool color schemes. When we checked in, I was raving about how much I love Ws and the lady checking us in asked me which one I liked the best. I told her it was the W San Diego, followed by the W Montreal (the ones here in New York all look amazing, but I've only stayed at the W Times Square). She was like, "This one will be your new favori...

summer breeze
If it's as gorgeous where you are as it's been here in New York, you are probably having as much fun as I am. Regular readers of this blog know how much I love spring. Not only is it finally here, it came with the added bonus of really warm weather. We broke a record yesterday for the high temperature - it hit 91 degrees! The previous record was 89 in 1929. By the way, the normal high temp for right now is 58. So yeah, it's been sweet. Flip-flops and everything! I've officially starte...

tomorrow...
...Waiting for You comes out in paperback!

Check back here tomorrow for my paperback release contest, where you can win a copy of the book (and my other books, too).
Until then, here's an interview with me at TRT Book Club and another at Reading or Breathing. I think the contest to win books over at TRT has closed, but I wanted to link to the interview again because Jen always does such a good job of asking fun, original questions.
There are also some new reviews of Something Like Fate out. H...

the haps
Have you been waiting for Waiting for You to come out in paperback? If so, your waiting is almost over. Waiting for You will be released in paperback on April 6! Which I can't believe is next week, but there you go.
In other book news, a new review of Something Like Fate is up at The Unprofessional Critic. Lauren even cast characters for the movie adaptation. She picked Zooey Deschanel to play my main character, Lani. That rules. I love Zooey! And casting book characters is always super fun.

throwback moment
When I was in high school, I used to tape Late Night with David Letterman (on this total dinosaur of a VCR) and watch him after school. Dave has always been a weird guy and I was a weird kid, so it was easy for me to recognize him as a kindred spirit. I was 12 years old when I first saw him throw a pencil through his window, and ever since then I've been hooked. As with all of my shows, it's not easy to keep up with things without a TV. High school was the last time I lived with a TV and ...
