Jessica Jefferson is “Taming Miss Tisdale”

Miss Tamsin Tisdale believes herself to be completely unsuitable for London life. After a myriad of social mishaps, and the potential ruination of her family name, she’s shipped away to her cousin’s northern estate. Only after she accepts the type of existence Society dictates she must follow will she be welcomed home.
Marcus Winston, the Duke of Grayson, has a lackluster reputation. The last in a dying line, he’s endured a protected life—rank with privilege, but encumbered by isolation. After a brief encounter with rebellion, he learns the devastating consequences of his carelessness and willingly accepts living life from inside his gilded cage.
However, a chance meeting with the brazen Miss Tisdale gives Marc the opportunity to reinvent himself into the man he’s always dreamed of being. But when his deception comes to light, and ghosts from both their pasts threaten to unravel the intimacy they’ve come to cherish, will either of them set their fears aside long enough to embrace love? Or will Miss Tisdale’s stubbornness divide them?

Excerpt
Marc watched the faint outline come across the dense morning fog, becoming more discernible as it approached. The tall, thin figure was riding along at a perilous speed, given the morning’s lack of visibility. He thought perhaps it was some gangly young man misguided in the fog. It wouldn’t be the first time someone accidentally stumbled upon the vast property that made up his family’s immodest estate.
Then the fog parted in an almost biblical manner, revealing his gross inaccuracy.
Were those . . . breasts?
Marc closed his eyes and thought for a moment. Typically, women didn’t ride alone at such an hour and they certainly didn’t wander unexpectedly across his property. It’d been quite a while, his last birthday to be exact, since his last intimate encounter with a woman—a gift, compliments of St. Regis—so there was always the possibility that perhaps his half-drunk, sex-starved mind had conjured up the sensual image.
He shook his head, opened his eyes, and looked back again toward the horizon.
Yes, those were most certainly breasts.
And she was most definitely not a young man. The woman’s riding habit pulled taut against her body as she raced toward him. Her hair was blowing behind her—various hues of auburn and gold, like wild flames curling about in the wind. Then a decidedly feminine voice burst through the morning’s silence, interrupting his self-doubt.
“Oh, thank goodness I found you!”
This was no mirage. She was indeed very real.
And very loud.
Marc watched, dumbfounded, as the girl—no, woman—slowed her approach. “Pardon?” he called back, certain he couldn’t possibly have heard her correctly.
“I’m so happy I’ve found you,” she repeated, nearly breathless. “Well, not you specifically, anyone really. I’ve been riding in circles for close to an hour now, and I’d just about given up all hope of finding someone when I spotted you. My cousin warned me about the altitude of these hills and how I mustn’t underestimate the density of this blasted fog. Of course, I didn’t listen and got myself thoroughly turned about. You see, I’m forever regretting not listening.”
She rode closer still and he could see her quite plainly now. She was tall and lanky, her riding habit revealing a rather trim frame. His focus quickly shifted from her slender build to her smile. It resembled nothing of the demure, timid smiles he’d become accustomed to seeing within his social circles. This smile was wide, revealing a number of straight ivory teeth, and seemed to extend to every facet of her face. Even her eyes, large and dark, appeared to be smiling.
Were they brown?
No, blue.
They were an impossibly dark shade of blue.
Then she gave her head a little shake, throwing a mass of unruly ginger curls over her shoulders, captivating him entirely.

$50 #Giveaway: “Marriage Isn’t for You” by Seth Adam Smith
Marriage Isn’t For You: It’s for the One You Love
What is the best wedding advice you ever received? For author Seth Adam Smith, it was the advice from his father who said, Marriage is not for you. It is about the person you marry. These few words completely changed the way Seth looked at his relationship with his wife-to-be. Because at that moment he realized that an expression of love is not about the person expressing it. Rather, it is about the person they choose to be with. It is about making the person you marry feel loved. Seth’s blog post on the subject was viewed by more than twenty-seven million people, and he has been featured on several national TV programs including The Today Show. Now released as a hardcover book, these sage words make the perfect gift for newly married couples, those who have been around the block a few times, or anyone who wants to learn how to make their relationships stronger.

Missy Jane on “Trusting an Angel” and Making the Good Boy Bad ($25 #Giveaway)
Author Missy Jane has clearly been doing some amazing research, and when she’s talking about making good boys bad, she needs no further introduction that that. LOL! However, I will say she’s getting fantastic reviews for this brand new release from Entangled Covet and she’s giving away a $25 gift card, so there is absolutely no reason for you to go anywhere. Get comfy and say hello to Missy!
Making the Good Boy Bad
As an author, one of my favorite things to do is taking a preconceived character and shaking things up. I made sure my vampires were a little less vampiric than the norm. I chose to use many animals for my shifters than just the standard go-to wolves and cats. Now with angels I thought it would be fun to make them bad boys. Maybe not really bad, I mean, I want readers to like these guys. But they’re definitely not angelic and sweet, full of nothing but love and innocence. Oh no. My archangels are Alpha men who like women as much as any human male, and they’re not afraid to show it.
The hero in Trusting an Angel is Zerach Maxwell, a businessman many perceive to be shady and ruthless. He owns many businesses but is mostly well-known for a string of nightclubs. How un-angel-like can a guy be but to own nightclubs? I was sorely tempted to make them strip clubs but didn’t want him to be too tainted. After all, the heroine had to be able to fall in love with him and that might have been pushing it. So, he owns night clubs and isn’t shy about loving human women. This certainly doesn’t make him a horrible person, but it definitely adds a little of the bad-boy image to his persona. So after reading him, you won’t be thinking of a figure in a long white gown with a halo, but maybe a sexy man in a custom-made thousand-dollar Italian suit.
What do you think of making good guys go bad in fiction? Is there a persona/character stereotype you would like to be shaken up a bit?

There’s also the fact that he is an archangel with a mission to protect humans from demons, something Isadora can never find out about.
Isadora secretly longs for Zerach’s attention but her scarred body and his playboy ways keep her from acting on her feelings. With her only family on the brink of bankruptcy, she’s determined to help them, even if it means trying to forget Zerach and marrying the womanizing Jake, a man she’ll never love.
Zerach tries to keep Isadora at arm’s length, but when a demon starts stalking her, Zerach will stop at nothing to protect the woman he loves. But protecting her could cost him his wings.

Crashing an Interview with Susannah Scott and “Stop Dragon My Heart Around” ($25 and Jewelry #Giveaway
Please welcome author Susannah Scott, who has come with one of the most unique guest spots I’ve ever seen. Y’all, she is totally crashing someone else’s interview! Then she’s going to tell you about her new release from Entangled Covet AND give you the scoop on a pretty awesome giveaway. Ready? Let’s get to it! (And when I say that, I am in no way referring to her exercise routine. As much as I’d like to hang, I would be on the floor. But I digress…)

We Gen-XYers don’t even pause-hell yeah! The bad dating of my twenties seemed benign compared to the antics of Sarah Jessica Parker and her posse on Sex and The City. When I saw Sarah she had done a “zippy-fun” 5 minute video interview with Vogue answering 73 questions, I was intrigued. 73 questions, in 5 minutes! (No, don’t go google it now! I’ll give you the link at the bottom)
The first time though the video, I was charmed and entertained. The second time, I felt the challenge of rapid-fire repartee calling my name… I wonder how I would answer all those questions?
Drum roll please….
For your snappy reading pleasure, I transcribed the questions and broke them into serial blog posts for my release tour. I’ve added a few to the mix-bonus. Many thanks to Sarah for hosting me today for my 9th segment!
Let’s do this thing!
Q70: Heels or flats
A: Flats
Usually Tevas in the summer and boots in the winter.
Q71: Blow dry or air dry?
A: Air dry
I have crazy curly hair and a ton of it. If I tried to blow-dry it straight it would take an hour every time! I just wash and Aveda, Just-Curly-Gel it and go.
Q73: Favorite Crossfit workout
A; Filthy Fifty
My husband and I have been doing crossfit for several years now. Here is the filthy fifty workout:
For time:
50 Box jump, 24 inch box
50 Jumping pull-ups
50 Kettlebell swings, 1 pood
Walking Lunge, 50 steps
50 Knees to elbows
50 Push press, 45 pounds
50 Back extensions
50 Wall ball shots, 20 pound ball
50 Burpees
50 Double unders
Q74: Religious Affiliation
A: Protestant Christian

Susannah Scott (center) with her sisters.
Q75:Brothers or Sisters?
A: Both! 2 brothers and 2 sisters. (see picture) They are all very high achievers with advanced degrees and such. We are all very close.
Q76: Ethic background
A: Scottish, Irish, French
Q77: Favorite writing spot?
A: Walking treadmill. Love it, I walk 2 miles every morning at a very slow 1.8 mph pace while I’m writing.
How about you? I challenge you to pick 1 question from above and answer it in the comments.
You know you want to try!
If you’d like to follow the rest of the interview, you can see a complete listing of my serial blog tour here. (link – http://susannahscottbooks.com/ ) .

Sisterly Fun: Tiffany Allee’s “Don’t Blackmail the Vampire” and a $25 #Giveaway
Uber-popular vamp author (no, she’s not a vamp…she just writes the heck out of them) Tiffany Allee is here with her new release, DON’T BLACKMAIL THE VAMPIRE, and she’s about to get herself in trouble with her momma. Let’s see what THAT’s about, shall we?
Tiffany Allee: Sisterly Fun
At its core, Don’t Blackmail the Vampire is a book about two people falling in love. But it’s also a story about sisters, and the lengths that one sister will go to in order to get the other out of bad relationship—including blackmailing a vampire into helping her.
Some might argue that Rachel, the heroine of Don’t Blackmail the Vampire, goes a little further in her efforts to help her sister than most sisters would actually appreciate. But that’s the wonderful thing about sisters—they’re willing to take big risks to help.
To celebrate the sisterly aspect of the book, I’ve compiled a top five list of why it’s awesome to have a sister. I think these apply whether you have a real sister, or even people in your life who are like sisters to you. Or, if you’re super lucky (like me!) you have both. ;)
1. Sisters are super fun to have around, and will join you when needed in the ongoing war against your brothers. As my sister and I are outnumbered 3 to 2 by our brothers, I can confirm this is super important.
2. Moms can be distracted from your own ignored to-do’s by bringing up your sister’s. Not that I do this if you’re reading this, Mom…
3. You can always count on your sister when things get crazy. Need a couch to crash on with no notice or someone to pick you up in an inconvenient place or time? Sisters are always there.
4. No matter how long it has been since you hung out, catching up is a breeze. Decades of shared history make communicating easy. And fun.
5. Sisters always have your back, no matter the dumb things you may say or do in life.

Rachel Davis will do anything to get her sister out of a bad relationship with her fiancé. Even if it involves a few fibs, a little breaking-and-entering, and blackmailing the fiancé’s potential boss, Charles, for his help. So what if the handsome Charles happens to be a vampire?
Charles Wright has found the perfect way to trap the man threatening his brother’s wife: cozy up to him, get invited along on the skiing trip, and then search for incriminating evidence. How much better that audacious but gorgeous Rachel is just as eager to nail the bastard. As far as he’s concerned, there’s nothing wrong with a little blackmail between two consenting adults. Especially when it’s time for Rachel to pay up.

Writing Process Blog Tour – Here’s a Look at my Writing Process
The Writing Process Blog Tour offers an opportunity for readers to get to know more what goes on behind the scenes while us authors headdesk our way to creating our respective masterpieces. (Okay, so I’m facing a deadline…I’m guessing not everyone is headdesking right now, LOL.) If you want a very scary look at my process, you’re in the right spot. If you’d rather run screaming in the opposite direction, well, that’s your cue. Still with me? Let’s get started.
1) What am I working on?
I am currently finishing up book three in the Sins of Salem series of historical romance novels available from Entangled Scandalous. It’s called THE SINS OF A FEW and explores the aftermath of the witch trials and how forgiveness–or the lack thereof–shapes my characters and the decisions they make.
2) How does my work differ from others of its genre?
Frankly, there’s not a lot of Salem witch trials romance out there. What I’ve done differently (at least as far as I know, lol) is to shape the series around different stages of the trials. In doing so I explore a unique aspect with each book. In HER WICKED SIN, the trials were just beginning and the consequences of being accused weren’t fully understood. In AN UNEXPECTED SIN, readers see how the reality of what we now call hysteria–and the very fear it instilled in everyone–affected the paths of two young lives. The final book, THE SINS OF A FEW, tackles the aftermath, and while the stories all stand alone, I think readers of all three will find this an especially satisfying end as a few characters you’ve loved to hate will get what’s coming to them. :)
3) Why do I write what I do?
My foray into historical romance–which is comprised entirely of my Salem series–was an accident. I’ve always been fascinated by the Salem witch trials. I mentioned that to my editor, she mentioned it to Scandalous, and the next thing I knew I was sending in a proposal. I was contracted on the basis of the only three chapters of historical romance I’d ever written in my life!
4) How does my writing process work?
I hide in my bedroom with my laptop and threaten the kids if they come near my door. No…really. (Okay, so that’s only near a deadline.) I used to write as a “panster” which means I let the story and characters determine the path. Now, however, my books are contracted before I even write them. I have to present a synopsis and more or less follow it, and in many ways that’s easier. Fortunately there’s some flexibility for those times the characters write their own stories, but in the meantime I always know where I’m headed AND I know the book has a home when I’m finished. Of course, sometimes the deadlines sneak up on me, which takes us right back to the beginning of this paragraph. LOL.
Next week, swing by Melissa MacKinnon’s blog to see what her process is all about. Melissa enjoys writing everything from sexy, sword-toting heroes to spit-out-your coffee funny romantic comedies. Her passion lies within the ancient walls of fantasy and historical romance, where anything is possible.

A DEVIL’S TOUCH (The Devil DeVere 4.5) by Victoria Vane
The Devil DeVere Series- Library Journal Best E-book Romance 2012
A DEVIL’S TOUCH is an erotic romance vignette that can stand alone as a complete story, but also serves to bridge Book #4 THE DEVIL’S MATCH, and Book#5 JEWEL OF THE EAST
BLURB: In her last month of pregnancy, Diana, Viscountess DeVere, has barely settled into her new life and role as “the devil” DeVere’s wife, when her increasingly restless husband receives an urgent summons to London. When Diana inadvertently discovers a message he received from a known courtesan with whom he was formerly linked, she fears her marriage is over before it has begun.

EXCERPT: Medford Abbey, Kent- 1784
Diana paused her perusal of the bookshelves to rub the small of her back with a self-pitying sigh. Perhaps she was making too much of matters and all would return to normal after her lying in? Hoping to lose herself for a day or two until his return, Diana selected the latest novel penned by Fannie Burney, the adventures of a young heiress named Cecelia. She retrieved the book from the shelf but by now her feet and back ached so badly, she dreaded the thought of climbing the stairs to her private apartments.
Instead, her gaze settled on her husband’s highly comfortable and recently vacated chair. Alighting in the plush over-stuffed chair, Diana released a soft moan of contentment. Ensconced in the faint scents of leather and Ludovic, a renewed calm seemed to settle over her. Giving in to the most unladlylike urge to prop her feet on the desk, Diana took up a stack of papers to clear a spot, but a particular sheet of foolscap conspicuously penned in a most delicate and elaborate style of calligraphy caught her eye. It was definitely not a man’s hand.
Curious, she picked up the letter. The wax seal had already been broken, revealing a terse note of only a few lines. She hesitated with a pang of guilt, knowing she should not proceed further, but her currently state of anxiety overcame her initial qualms. Diana read:
Most honored Efendi
It is with the greatest humility that I appeal to he who once safeguarded my life. It is with exceeding distress that I must entreat you once more being much in need of a friend and protector. Your most devoted and obedient servant,
Salime
Diana clutched the missive to her breast with quivering lips. An old friend indeed! Was it truly a man named Simon he went so urgently to meet… or an erstwhile lover named Salime?

Eva Scott Has an Awesome Weekend Planned for You
Author Eva Scott is celebrating the re-release of some of her popular titles. Check ‘em out…you never know what you’ll find for your weekend reading pleasure, but you can bet you’ll love it!
Dr Camden James is a rural vet, not a wedding planner, so he quickly feels out of his depth when, in a fit of generosity, he offers to glam up his sister’s budget wedding in a secret move designed to surprise her. With only six weeks to make this the wedding of his sister’s dreams he needs to move fast.
Stumbling around in the largely female world of weddings he gets a lead on the go-to girl for wedding flowers – Georgiana Mac Intyre. Georgi, reeling from a very public breakup, is not interested in men in anyway shape or form. Not even super-cute vets – even when they are clearly interested in her.
Cam shamelessly uses his story to get her to help. It has all the elements; romance against the odds, true love, orphans (you can’t have good story without an orphan or two), and a bride.
Nick and Talia Carmichael were childhood sweethearts. Grief over the death of their baby daughter from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome crushed their marriage. Talia moved to a new city, with a new career and life. Now it’s time to close the door on the past and ask Nick for a divorce.
Nick has other ideas. Once his wife, always his wife. He has no intention of letting Talia off so lightly and proposes terms and conditions to his agreement. It will mean moving back into their marital home, and force her to face long buried grief. Can she do as he asks?
Being with Nick causes her to question everything she thought was true. Has she made a mistake thinking her love for Nick is dead? Can he still love her? More importantly, can he again trust after everything they’ve been through?
T’WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
During her Christmas Eve performance, part time Burlesque dancer Miss Ginger Snap looks out into the crowd to see her first and only love, Clay Roberts. The man who broke her heart and betrayed her. The man who caused her to flee her home town to Sydney and never look back. Desperate to avoid him, she makes a mad dash for the last train back to her home town in time for Christmas.
For Clay time stands still as he recognises the dancer. He’s certain it’s Jessica King. She ran out on him at their high school graduation and he’s been searching for her ever since. After missing her train, Clay convinces Jessica to travel home with him.
Can Clay convince his one true love to give him the opportunity to atone and a second chance? Can Jess risk being hurt again by the man she loved?

“Lost and Found” by Karey White ($25 #Giveaway)

Lost and Found by Karey White
Lydia was supposed to have an adventurous and exciting summer. Instead she’s done nothing more than read and eat takeout. Now it’s time to go home, and what does she have to show for it? A big fat nothing. Unless, of course, her trip to the airport somehow turns into something more than just a flight home.
Blake feels like he’s been sent on a wild goose chase. While work is piling up back in Denver, he’s on the other side of the country, hunting for some mysterious box that his grandfather left him. Well, no more. Nothing inside that box could possibly be more important than the opportunity to make it as the youngest partner at his firm. So he’s going home, and that’s that. But that’s before he discovers his flight has been cancelled.
When these two strangers meet at the airport, they make a split-second decision to search for the box together. Maybe with both of them on the hunt, Lydia can have her adventure and Blake can find the box. And maybe, if they’re lucky, they’ll even find some romance.

Excerpt
Blake turned off the light, but he didn’t fall asleep. He thought of Lydia who slept on the other side of the wall. He’d only known her for two days, but it felt like so much longer. It had been a long time since he’d allowed himself to be interested in a woman. He’d figured he’d do that after he made partner. But what if the right woman was here now?
Blake felt sick inside. Even though he might be interested in Lydia, why would she give him a second thought? She’d just spent the last few hours reading letters that let her know exactly why she should turn and run from Blake. Gladys had showed Lydia what it took to find happiness. It took leaving.

7 Things You Did Not Need to Know about Debut Author Incy Black (“Hard to Hold”) – $25 #Giveaway
Incy Black may be a debut author, but she’s already one of my favorites. Why? Because OMG you guys, she’s HILARIOUS. Are you ready to meet her? Come on in, but make sure you swallow your coffee (or your gin…however you roll) before you read on. Welcome, Incy!
7 Things You Did Not Need to Know About Debut Author Incy Black
First off, Hard to Hold, my debut romantic suspense just released, and I’d like to thank Sarah for graciously taking the risk of hosting me on her site.
Why the light-hearted personal reveal? Because I regularly indulge my own curiosity about ‘the writer behind the book’, and figured it was about time I stepped up with a few confessions of my own.
*Deep Breath*
Despite all suggestions to the contrary, I rarely know what the hell I am doing. Work: I wing it. Family: I wing it. Life: I wing it big time. (This used to cause me great anxiety until I realized I’m in great company. Most people wing it. In fact, it’s pretty damn crowded up here in the skies.)
Despite all appearances to the contrary, I was pretty quick over the 100m (representing East Dorset as a junior), captained the netball team (hated it) and played hockey for the senior team (hated it, too). I rebelled against cross-country, and when made to do it, hiked a lift to the finish on the back of a coal truck – going in the wrong direction. Older and wiser now, exercise and I have a love/hate relationship. Exercise loves itself, and I believe it’s a form of self-harming.
I once ‘fainted’ on the hockey pitch just so I could be carried off by the Captain of the Boys’ Team on whom I had a crush. (Now that is just plain embarrassing to admit and merits a 3 mile run for punishment – yeah, like that’s gonna happen.)
Until very recently I believed that if I climbed a chair or a skyscraper I’d be closer to the sun…then my nine year old asked me – so how come snow is more likely the higher you climb a mountain? Hmmm…still winging that one. (Science is so illogical)
To combine science and embarrassment, I was pregnant with my third child (of 5) before I found out the term ‘boner’ was not a reference to an articulated bone in the penis, in fact, there is no bloody bone at all. (I skipped a lot of biology to hide and read instead – but never reference books). I was happy in my ignorance and, boy, did the extraordinary good-looking Russian gynecologist who put me right, blush.
I home educated my children for 2 years (a bit worrying when you consider I don’t exactly have a handle on science (physics, biology, chemistry, why the hell the universe works the way it does).
I was once damn near arrested for climbing a crane naked in Central London. No, I wasn’t protesting, it was a dare (it was also dark). Word of caution: if you are going to climb a crane (naked or otherwise), don’t pick one within scratching distance of a police station.

Anna Key Marshall is about to get what she’s always wanted: a baby. Granted, it’s through a sperm donor instead of her ex-husband, but you can’t have everything. She has no idea why someone wants her dead, but she’ll do whatever it takes to protect her unborn child—even if it means turning to her ex, the Black Ops specialist who broke her heart.
Five years ago, British Intelligence agent Nick Marshall slammed the door on the woman who betrayed him. But now Anna’s back in his life with a vengeance, pregnant and full of attitude. He’d like nothing better than to walk away, but with her life on the line, he has no choice but to do what he does best—protect her at all costs.
As old wounds resurface, Nick begins to doubt his version of what went down with Anna so long ago. And he begins to believe they might have a second chance together. But with Anna’s would-be killer on the loose—it will take the full force and fury of his protective instincts, fueled by a powerful love he can’t leave behind, to hold on to the woman he still loves.

Author Bio
It took a swan dive from a roof to convince Incy (aged 5) she wasn’t an avenging fairy and that no, she most certainly couldn’t fly. Bruised but undefeated she retreated deeper into her make-believe world populated with the brave and the poisonous.
When not fighting injustice and righting wrongs on ‘Planet Incy’, she works as a Marketing Director. (Unfortunately, her law degree languishes unused, the distinction between good and evil proving too worrisome in real life.)
Her five children are well versed in what scares her (most things) and delight in pushing her neurotic buttons—at their peril.
