You Will Never Understand Who You Are Until You Understand This

No matter who you are, we all have at least one thing in common. We all share the natural, conscious desire to know who we are and why we are here on this planet. But before we can understand ourselves, we have to gain an understanding of who God is. If we don’t have a knowledge of the Creator, we’ll never fully grasp the purpose of His creation and the plans He has for us. In the first week of our series I Know He Is But What Am I? Pastor Steven laid the groundwork for his teaching by reminding us what the Bible says about the perfect character and matchless characteristics of our God. Watch this entire sermon from I Know He Is But What Am I?.

Adventures in Assumption

Strong. Patient. Loving. Just. These are the kind of words that God uses to describe Himself. But what about the words God uses to describe us? Why do we struggle to believe Him when He calls us loved, wise, chosen, and blameless? How do we reconcile God’s identity with our own? Join us for our new series and discover how to re-imagine yourself in the image of God.

The Main Character That Matters

What is your favorite movie? Chances are that it’s not your favorite movie because of the key grip or the lighting technician. Nobody really knows who those guys are. It’s probably your favorite because of the main characters or the story told through them on the screen. In our lives, we often make the mistake of misunderstanding who the story is about. In this clip from our series Living A Better Story, Pastor Steven helps us shift our perspective about the role we really play in the story God has written for us.

Conflict. Rising action. Antagonists and protagonists. Resolution. Once upon a time, God wrote you into the world. You are a complex character with a special role to play in a unique story. In this series, we study how the parts of a powerful story align with a powerful life in Christ. Learn what it takes to live a story worth telling. Watch the entire Living A Better Story series.

The Miserable Answer to Your Life’s Ministry

If you’ve been a Christian for any amount of time, you’ve more than likely found yourself asking the question, “What does God want to do through my life?” Often times, the answer to that question can be found within the answer to another question – “What makes you miserable?” While that seems to be an unlikely place to start, many times it is in our misery where God chooses to speak to us. In this clip from our series The Prodigy In Me, Pastor Steven teaches us that the call to ministry isn’t reserved just for those who are pastors and preachers, but is planted in each of our own hearts – but it’s up to us to recognize it.

Everyone is a genius at something. We have all been equipped in different ways. Discover the invaluable gifts God has placed inside of you. In this series we learn that what makes us unique is what makes us powerful. Watch The Prodigy In Me series.

A New Perspective on Our Greatest Fears

If you look closely at your fears, you’ll quickly find that they all tend to have the same distinguishing characteristics. They paralyze, condemn, diminish hope, and are designed to render us ineffective – and they’re all based entirely on something that might not even happen. Why do our fears have this type of powerful control on our lives? Often, it has to do with our own limited perspective. In the final installment of our series Room 101, Pastor Steven teaches us the difference between the warnings of God and the threats of the Enemy, as we learn a perspective-shifting approach to our greatest fears. Watch this entire sermon from Room 101.

Redefining Faith In Your Everyday Life

Faith. It’s a word that can be easily defined but hard to describe – and even harder to put fully into practice. As Christians, we have put our faith in Jesus Christ, His death for our sins, and His resurrection. This is the foundation of our faith. But how does faith work in our day-to-day lives? What does it look like, not just in times of blessing and provision, but in the midst of crisis and trial? In this clip from our series Give. Me. Faith. Pastor Steven uses the lives of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to teach us what real faith looks like when put into practice.

You’ve lost faith. In leadership. In the economy. In God. You’ve even lost faith in yourself. You had it. You lost it. It’s time to get it back. Watch the entire Give. Me. Faith. series.

Practice Matters More Than You Think

Outside of maybe Allen Iverson, most athletes believe in the value of practice. Practice? Practice. There is even scientific evidence proving that your brain learns to do certain skills more efficiently and effortlessly through repeated actions. But this goes well beyond sports. This spills over into your daily life, your thought life and your spiritual life. As Christians, how we follow Christ day in and day out has a huge impact on whether or not we trust Him in the difficult situations and circumstances. In this clip from our series Grey Matter, Pastor Steven reminds us what God teaches His children through practice.

Where should I go to school? Who should I marry? What job should I take? The decision making process happens deep in the grey matter of your brain. But what about those complicated choices that aren’t black and white? In Grey Matter, we study the dynamics of decision-making, how to seek God’s will in uncertain circumstances and how knowing God doesn’t mean we get to know the details of our future. Watch the entire Grey Matter series.

Getting to the Bottom of Your Fear

Think of your worst fear. The fear that keeps you up at night or wakes you in a panic. For many of us, these are the “what if…” scenarios we replay in our heads over and over again. Why do we struggle to get past our deepest fears? Is there ever a way out of this destructive cycle of “what if…”? In the third installment of our series Room 101: Facing Your Greatest Fears, Pastor Steven uses a vinyl album (remember those?) to teach us the song of fear the Enemy plays to us on repeat – and how we should respond. Watch this entire sermon from Room 101.
