Economic consequences of lockdowns – including their regressive impacts

Lockdowns are nothing short of suicidal. Upper class elites are very relaxed about them (at least for now), but the poor are beginning to suffer very badly. There is a lot of literature floating around. I’m unable to spend time to bring all this together, but a few links below when I find time. The […]

Effect of weather on coronaviruses

This is a placeholder post. There is some evidence for a strong likelihood of the virus being seasonal. Which makes India’s lockdown in spring/summer even more unjustified. Source I couldn’t locate it readily at https://intermountainhealthcare.org/, though. It seems to have been published on Yahoo finance. But here’s another chart somewhat similar to it. Source: https://www.accuweather.com/en/health... […]

List of economists against total lockdowns

Almost all economists with any sense are dead against lockdowns. Here’s a compilation from the internet. This is a placeholder post. Will add more when I find time. Send me more links if you find them. Of course, don’t forget me: My articles at http://swarnabahrat.in/pandemic + on this blog .@JohnHCochrane gets it. Sledgehammer #Lockdowns are […]

Germany may join the Swedish bandwagon from 19 April – with open restaurants and schools

Germans are one of the more rational people on this planet The situation there is far better (with extremely low death rates) than in most European countries and there is therefore no basis for total lockdowns. Opposition to the full-fledged lockdowns is increasing: “32 percent are in favour of a relaxation of the lockdown measures, […]

My elaboration to a commentator about why the Swedish/SBP approach is the best

EXTRACT FROM AN EMAIL I SENT OUT A MOMENT AGO I do wish to suggest a difference in the way I’m looking at the issue. I’m not so bothered about how bad the virus is (these are debates for the future). The only question of interest is: what is the cheapest way to return to […]

This German study is a game changer – just 0.37% death rate + massive immunity already

“Now, after searching blood from 500 residents for antibodies to the virus, scientists at a nearby university say they have determined that one in seven have been infected and are therefore “immune.” Some of those people would have had no symptoms at all.” [Source] This is about a town in Germany – 15% herd immunity. […]

Can we even expect to get immunity from SARS-CoV 2 after recovery from infection?

This is one of the most challenging topics. (This is a placeholder post) In my latest article I’ve said: The second worst-case eventuality we should prepare for is that people will only develop imperfect immunity after recovering from the infection. A number of reports are now showing that people might get re-infected, although that is […]

List of scientists in favour of staggered/ managed herd immunity

Politicians are having a great time in popularity polls, as it appears that they are saving lives at very low cost to the economy. But this is a delusion, a bubble, and will come back to haunt such politicians. List of real scientists who recommend (explicitly or implicitly) managed herd immunity: Anders Tegnell Anders Tegnell […]

Anders Tegnell is leading Sweden to a REAL SOLUTION. Others are DESTROYING their nations.

The more I find about this man, the more impressed I am. This is a placeholder post. If time permits I’ll write an article on Sweden’s approach this long weekend. I’ll also try to combine Tegnell’s videos – done; this one below NOTE: This post should be read together with this one on Sweden’s approach. […]
