2 Despicable Pols

Politicians do despicable things as a matter of course, but running mock-religious campaigns, as Perry and Bachmann do, pretending to be religious figures themselves and claiming that the hand of God is on their shoulders when they're actually genocidal maniacs, is about as rotten as it gets.

John Derbyshire on Ron and Iran

Writes Jim Brownfield:

Other than the obligatory "unelectable" comment, and the distortion of his immigration position (through a link), this is otherwise a decent comment about Ron's position on Iran. BTW, when Derbyshire says, "I agree with the common consensus that Dr. Paul is unelectable. We are sunk too deep in bureaucratic managerialism: too many iron rice bowls are at stake," isn't he effectively saying "America can't be saved"?  That seems to me to be the overarching implication when anyone uses the unelectable slogan.

Ron Paul Has Been Sentenced to the 'Phantom Zone'

By regime media, says Roger Simon. But look for this to backfire. No one trusts the MSM as it is; this latest crime will convict the press. They've taken on the wrong guy. (Thanks to Joe Sansone)

Michael Medved Bays for the Blood of Muslims

How dare Ron Paul be a compassionate man of peace? How dare he sstate inconvenient historical truths rather than war propaganda? How dare he put Americans and foreign war victims first, rather than the demands of foreign pols?

Murdoch's Hostility Is Worldwide

Writes Anne Hill:

From my bunker in a Zurich airport hotel, I had to accept that being 6 hours ahead time-wise of the US East Coast meant I wouldn't know the Ames Straw Poll results until sometime my Sunday morning. Upon arising, I turned my television to Murdoch's Sky News and was rewarded with a full report on lovely, looney Michele's win, but no mention whatsoever of other candidates and results – naturally - that was the moment when I knew Ron Paul had pulled second position.  Of course, I had to boogie on over to LRC on my laptop to learn that the difference was a mere 152 votes.  What a magnificent triumph for Ron within the context of an evangelical state!  Clearly the fix is in internationally, and our media disease is a global affair!  (BBC report only marginally better, BTW.)  Congrats to Dr. Paul!

Has Temporary Celebrity Gone to Bachmann's Head?

If so, she'll be gone even faster than I thought. (Of course, Politico--a liberal-regimist site--is pumping for Perry, who then can be put away by Obama.)

'They Really Fear Ron Paul, Don't They?'

Adds Mark Carroll:

Note the unflattering picture they use on HuffPo.

The Personalities of the Candidates

From a very experienced insider:

Romney: a great guy, through a typical pol;

Bachmann: slightly scary, and an effective liar;

Perry: demonic;

Ron: the man you want in charge of your children's money if you and your wife die prematurely.
