Ron in Veepstakes?

Thanks to a hilarious GOP rule change by Morton Blackwell, Paulist delegates may be able to nominate Ron for VP from the floor in Tampa. This could lead to a polling of the entire convention--taking many hours--and open up the processs to other candidates whom Romney also dislikes. It would certainly add some interest to an otherwise galactically boring event.

Rand Out of Veepstakes

Or so says Larry Sabato, while Rob Portman is in the lead. (Thanks to David Brown)

Creepfest

GOP fat cats, neocons, and neocon fat cats gather in Utah (where else?) to select their rewards of war and corporatism from what they hope will be the open sewer of big-government under the Romney regime. They are also there to meet his possible vice-duce's. These include Jeb Bush, Bobby Jindal, Tim Pawlenty, Rob Portman,  Condoleezza Rice, Paul Ryan, and John Thune, but not Marco Rubio. Here's another story on the "retreat."

UPDATE Here is more on warmonger Romney as fundraiser, and Israel and his other key issues.

Here's another story on the "retreat."

Rubio a Republican Party Crook

Is this one of the reasons Mitt dumped Marco as a potential veep creep? (Thanks to Brad Funkhouser)

'Ron Paul Plans His Own RNC Event To Calm the Waters'

There will be at least 3 notable meetings in Tampa in August: the RNC Fascisticon, the campaign's Ron Paul Rally, and the grassroots' Ron Paul Festival.

According to the Tampa Tribune, "Libertarian presidential candidate Ron Paul is planning his activities at the Republican National Convention in Tampa with an eye to making sure his supporters are part of the mainstream GOP process and not a disruptive force, a top campaign official said Tuesday.

"Partly for that reason, Paul intends to hold his own rally the Sunday before the convention and avoid a three-day Paul Festival to be held at the state fairgrounds – even though the event is intended to celebrate his 77th birthday."

My prediction: Ron will not snub a happy gathering of people devoted to him heart and soul. But, as I have mentioned a number of times, everyone should behave. The Republicans would love to taser or gas and cage Paulians. If you are going to the police-state hellhole of Tampa in August, give the enemy no excuse to harm you.

Better yet, just copy Ron Paul: a gentleman of civility and peace, but tough as nails on his principles.
