Guerrilla Car Buying
It’s never been easier to buy a new car; the harder part is not paying too much for it. “Easy” financing obscures how much you’re really paying, by spreading out the paying. Bundling of desirable options with options you may not want – but are pushed into buying in order to get the options you want.
Those are two of the new pressures adding to your peril.
Plus the stand-by perils: Your old car got totaled in a wreck and you need something new, now. You’ve become emotionally attached.
Or your...

Tesla X Actually Sped-Up to 71 MPH Before Crash
The NTSB has released its report analyzing the March 23 Tesla Model X crash in Mountain View, which ended in the tragic death of a 38 year old Apple engineer and took place while Autopilot was engaged – and while the driver had their hands off of the steering wheel. While many of the details were known previously, the most surprising revelation was that the vehicle actually sped up seconds before the crash.
As Bloomberg reports, the Model X that crashed in California while being guided by its...
Why Should Europe Pay Triple the Price for US Gas?
The US is force-feeding Europe its liquefied natural gas, which is three times more expensive that buying it from Russia, Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen said after signing a gas-supply contract with Moscow until 2040.
While US politicians are accusing Europe of being dependent on Russian gas, they forget that “American liquefied gas is two or three times more expensive than Russian gas. Under such circumstances, it makes little sense in purely economic terms to replace Russian ga...
Next Stage of Pressure on Iran
President Trump is stepping up his attack on Iran. He’s now planning the long-game for maximum pressure. The news that Trump quietly asked Saudi Arabia to ramp up output by 1 million barrels a day is the key.
From the analysis at Oilprice.com:
Saudi Arabia and some of its close Arab allies in the Gulf, as well as the leader of the non-OPEC nations taking part in the production cut deal—Russia—are the only producers that have the spare capacity to increase production. So, in case of increase...
Is Mayor de Blasio
“Though New York City has one of the most segregated schools systems in the country,” writes Elizabeth Harris of The New York Times, until now, Mayor Bill de Blasio “was all but silent on the issue.”
He was “reluctant even to use the word ‘segregation.'”
Now the notion that the liberal mayor belongs in the same basket as Southern governors in the ’50s and ’60s like Orval Faubus of Arkansas and Ross Barnett of Mississippi seems a bit of a stretch.
For what Harris means by “segregation” is that...
Italy, Hyperinflation, and Gold
The ECB (European Central Bank) just had its 20th birthday. But there is really nothing to celebrate. The EU is in a total mess and the Euro which was launched on January 1, 1999 is a failed currency. Every President of the ECB has had to deal with fires that had very little to do with price stability but were more a question of survival. Most of these fires were a lot more serious than the candles in the Euro cake on the left which Draghi is trying to blow out. During the French ECB Trichet’...
Going Broke Even Faster Than Expected
Are you depending on Social Security and Medicare for your retirement?
You might want to rethink that plan. These government retirement programs are going broke even faster than expected.
For the first time since 1982, Social Security will have to dip into its $3 trillion trust fund in order to cover benefits this year.
In other words, the program’s expenses will exceed its revenue. Analysts knew this was going to happen, but it happened three years earlier than they projected just last year....
Bill Clinton’s Absurd Book
“What the hell is going on, people?” yells US president Jonathan Lincoln Duncan for the 512th time (on almost every page) as he urgently tries to stop an annihilating cyberattack on America.
The commander-in-chief dreamed up by former US president Bill Clinton and James Patterson, the world’s bestselling author, is “fifty years old and rusty”, “a war hero with rugged good looks and a sharp sense of humour”. The hell that is going on for the reader is a perfectly absurd and terrifically boring...
What Happens at Bilderberg
A select group of some of the world’s richest and most powerful people is getting together this week for the annual Bilderberg Group meeting, attracting controversy and conspiracy theories due to its elite and secretive nature.
This year’s gathering, which will be the 66th annual meeting of the mysterious group, takes place in Turin, Italy, between June 7-10. The meeting will be attended by American and European business leaders, current and former government officials, politicians, universit...
Still Waiting for Evidence
If you are wondering why so little is heard these days of accusations that Russia hacked into the U.S. election in 2016, it could be because those charges could not withstand close scrutiny. It could also be because special counsel Robert Mueller appears to have never bothered to investigate what was once the central alleged crime in Russia-gate as no one associated with WikiLeaks has ever been questioned by his team.
