I dreamt this last night.

I hate it when I dream about spiders.

Presenting:
Thing: There was this guy dressed as the grim reaperdancing on the sidewalk with a scythe and a flag.
Here's a closeup.
Sitting by him was a dude playing the ukulele.  There wasn't an open case in front of him and it's not tax season anymore, so they were probably protesters.  I don't know what they were protesting, but I totally want in.

THING:
I was driving down the freeway last weekend and there was a cop in the far right lane, going really slow with his lights flashing.
When I passed, I saw why...
d'aaaaaaaw!!!
It was so adorable I flipped a U for a better look.
Kidding.  But I was hiccupping rainbows the rest of the day.

THING:
It was a gorgeous springy morning, and I was feeling pretty darn good and was in a singy mood, which I get in sometimes, and I was singing the best song from the best movie pretty much ever.

Howl's moving Moving Castle

A fanart of "Howl's Moving Castle," by Dianna Wynn Jones, a book I really enjoyed.  I thought since it was about a moving castle, it'd be cool to actually make the castle move.
It's part of a blog memorandum for the author, Diana Wynne Jones.  Original post on the Greenwillow blog, here.  This was a lot of fun to try.
 The process (in pictures):

Etc.
The more I think about animated gifs, the more I think we've only brushed the surface of their potential.  No one seems to consider them much of an art form, but I think (I hope) we're slowly breaking out of that...like, cinemagraphs, and I know that Carrie Liao and Anthony Holden are doing some creative stuff.  Also, this guy...
Good gravy, how awesome is that?  Kevin Weir.  Click on this link...you won't regret it.

Family Fun Run

My aunt is in charge of her school's Fun Run again this year, so I threw together some t-shirt designs for it.  I'm pretty sure they'll go with this one:

...but I really hope they pick this one.

This one might be too much to hope for.

More of those picture thingies

1 shot, 2 different takes:

This second one, I like it better I think.    ^^I'd've been happier with this one if I'd planned better.  I took it just before a massive downtown conference, so you can see the reflection of a bunch of people walking by.  My photography skills aren't so glam, so...humble pie.
(I still enjoyed doing this)

¡Norteamericanos Frívolos! (Dos)

 Recap:

Heather buy the episode on Amazon.

The consultant doesn't know what to do.

The consultant recruits the help of

Head Consultant.

The Head Consultant knows...

everything.

He nods and listens and then he says:

 "But what...
 ...is it that
 ...YOU want?"

And the bride is like:

Interview with Head Consultant:
"I just needed to ask her what she wanted!"

And I'm like
"Of course!"

And what do you know, the bride emerges from the dressing room, wearing

THE ONE.

And the consultant is crying
 And the bridesmaid is crying
 And the mom is crying
And the 3-year old is curiously absent
 And the grandpa is crying
(...because he has to pay for the $5000 dress...)
And the fiance is like:
"When I saw her come out in that dress, she just...she just looked amazing..."

"She just...she just..."

And teens all over the country, they're watching and crying too
....and Guatemalan orphans are crying too

....and throwing their tortillas at the screen

 ...and North Korea nukes China
 ...and I'm like

5,000 DOLLARS FOR A FREAKIN' DRESS?!

 So....
...I wonder if they find the dress in this episode....

On an unrelated note, does this remind anyone

 of this?

Asking hypothetically.  If it does, I WANT ONE

¡Norteamericanos Frívolos!

I ran into this reality show the other day

and even though I've only seen 2 episodes, I already know it's up there with this
 and this.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN SO MANY POOFY DRESSES IN MY WHOLE LIFE!!!!

It's very addicting.  Here's a taste why:

A bride-to-be is looking for the perfect dress for her wedding.  She goes to a famous dress store and meets the consultant, who's going to help her pick out the dress.

Lucky for the consultant, the bride has brought some people to help.  Her mom, dad, fiance, siblings, fiance's siblings, cousins, bridesmaids, bridesmaid's cousin...
 Who all look like this.
 Without fail.

And the bride is like, "and I won't be happy unless they aaaaaaaaall love my dress every single one!"
So they go into the dressing room and try on the dresses.  (This is my favorite part.)  (It's just like Barbie!!)
And when the bride is sure she's found the right dress, she goes out to show everyone

 ...who all hate it.

Back to the dressing room!

They try on scads and scads more.

They try on so many,  they all start to look the same...
And I can kind of feel my IQ ticking south like a clock
(which is how you know it's good)

And then magically...after trying on all those dresses...

They find THE ONE.

And when the bride comes out wearing THE ONE, her family is like:

And they love it.
The mom loves it.  The dad loves it.  The grandparents and bridesmaids and fiance and siblings, they all love it!

And then

Someone

(usually like, the three-year-old daughter of the bridesmaid's cousin, who the bride is really close to, who has been sitting quietly through the whole thing staring at the ceiling)

 says:
 !!!!!

AAAGH!!!
 And the world turns up-side-down!!!
hand-held cam focus on perplexed bridesmaid  handheld cam zoom on bridesmaid handheld cam focus
Aaaaaand then the YouTube teaser ends.

And I'm like:

TO BE CONTINUED!!!!

Good gravy, am I really making this a two-parter??

A:  YES I AM

:'(

Very few people can transcend with words in such a simple, beautiful way.  I feel so heartbroken, like I've lost a friend.
