Fish & Chips 21: Change

In this installment of my friday fish and chips I talk about change.

Is this an authentic Medieval Axe?

I received an email from a web visitor (Max). He bought this axe at an antique store and he is looking for more information about it. He believes that the axe head is authentic and actually antique but the handle is probably new. And I agree with him. And that symbol of an eagle on the axe is very very german. I suspect this is an authentic German axe from who knows how long ago!

Blacksmithing coins

It’s a fun and interesting project with a lot of various skills necessary.

The coin

This is a tutorial that is coming up , and it includes a video. I will take you through the complete process of blacksmithing a coin. There are a lot of different ways to make coins. And the typical way is to use a press to stamp out the coins. That is efficient and accurate. But I didn’t want to do it that way. I wanted to get the art of blacksmithing involved in the process. I learned a lot and I will show you the whole process once I have the video and web pages done!.
