October 15, 2016: Top Ten In Warehouse 23 For September
Another month, another top-ten list for Warehouse 23! You may notice that we have a bit more GURPS this month. That may be due to our Dungeon Fantasy RPG Kickstarter (it funded, woo!), which allowed Warehouse 23 sales of GURPS product go toward the funding goal. It's great to see fans supporting the project!
The fact that it almost completely beat out Munchkin , even for a month, is a crazy sight! I say "almost" because the top seller (it seems perpetually) was Munchkin promotional cards. So to give some other games a bit of spotlight, I've moved those off the list. We'll consider them our lifetime Honorary Mention.
Anyway, on to the list!
GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 19: Incantation Magic
Pyramid #3/95: Overland Adventures
GURPS Adaptations
Simon's Cat Card Game
Discworld Roleplaying Game
GURPS Sorcery: Protection and Warning Spells
I Hate Zombies!
GURPS Character Assistant
Bill & Ted's Excellent Boardgame
Pyramid #3/94: Spaceships III
Thanks to everyone who visits Warehouse 23! And we'd like to remind you not to miss our current promotion. Until the end of the month, when you buy $125 of physical stuff, you get a FREE Halloween Munchkin Monster Box with your order! That's a super deal for a spooky month, so take advantage before it disappears. Like a ghost. BOO.

October 14, 2016: Munchkin Marvel 2 In Stores Now!

Sweet Christmas! Munchkin Marvel 2: Mystic Mayhem is now at your friendly local game store, packed with demon hunters and magical weapons.
The expansion to USAopoly's acclaimed Munchkin: Marvel Edition , Munchkin Marvel 2 adds fan-favorite heroes from The Defenders like Doctor Strange, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, along with their iconic accoutrement like the Eye of Agamotto. They square off with the worst that earth, and the underworld, has to offer. Powerful magic users like Baron Mordo, assassins of The Hand, and even the demons Dormammu and Mephisto all aim to defeat you, and they'll use every trick in the book to do it.
New oversized Dungeon cards allow you to fight in classic Marvel locations, like the Sanctum Sanctorum, Savage Land, and Helicarrier. Each location has its own rules, sometimes benefiting the heroes and other times giving the Monsters a buff. Not to mention two more Infinity Gems are in this pack. If you have the Infinity Gauntlet promo card from USAopoly, then this gets you one step closer to completing the ultimate weapon!
With all these new additions, Munchkin Marvel 2 brings a dark twist to the base game. Visit your local game store to pick up a copy today. Just try to avoid opening a gate to The Dark Dimension, please.

October 13, 2016: Munchkin Musings: October 2016
Fall weather is just starting to make it to Austin (we've even had morning temperatures below 60 Fahrenheit once or twice!) and that has reminded me that it's time for a Halloween installment of Munchkin news for you ghoulish people.
On October 3, we had our second annual Retailer Appreciation Day. Folks from places as far as Oregon and New Jersey rubbed elbows and learned about all the cool new games coming up. We had several tables showing off the latest prototype of the Munchkin Collectible Card Game , which was a hit – thanks to Eric Lang and Kevin Wilson for the design, and to Devin Lewis for spearheading the game's development. We're seeing colored art come in regularly now, and it's really good. I showed off the Collectible Card Game at the Enigma Retailer Day in Copenhagen on October 11, and Ross is taking that copy with him to Essen to show several of our translation partners. I can't wait until we can tell you more about this game, including our tentative release plans!
Munchkin Grimm Tidings is selling very well at Walgreens . . . if you haven't checked your local store yet, you might want to get on that! We're very happy with this set and hope to do more of these kinds of "starter" games next year.
Another of those "starter" games is Munchkin Christmas Lite , which you can get right now because the holiday vault is open! You should note that we'll slam the door on all our Munchkin Christmas loot when the warehouse closes in mid-December.
We've mentioned Munchkin Shakespeare before. We'll mention it again. By the pricking of my thumbs, something Munchkin this way comes . . .
Don't forget to check the weekly Munchkin News to be the first guy in your group to know all the cool Munchkin secrets! Have a great, safe Halloween, and I'll be back in November!

October 10, 2016: Don't Miss A Single Guest Artist Edition
No one likes to miss out on good stuff. So we've written this post to help guide you toward not missing out – that is, toward getting in on all the Guest Artist Edition goodness we have to offer. Because yeah, we know, there are a lot of them. And since these deluxe-sized games are all limited edition runs, they'll be gone soon. They're scarce, like uranium or Count Chocula.
Some are at your friendly local game store, two are only at Barnes & Noble, one is exclusive to Target, and one can be found only at Amazon.com. It's a small army of Guest Artist Editions you need to keep an eye out for, or, you know, just go buy right now to make sure you get your copy!

The details:
Munchkin Guest Artist Edition, by Ian McGinty - The first Guest Artist Edition we released is almost out of stock for good! So go get a copy now if you plan to do it at all. It's the original Munchkin, but with illustrations from a comic artist known for work on comics like Hello Kitty and Adventure Time. Get it at your FLGS, or on Warehouse 23. If you only get one on this list, this is a good choice.
Star Munchkin Guest Artist Edition, by Len Peralta - This one is almost out of stock, too. It's Munchkin lampooning scifi tropes, with art from the man known for his Geek a Week podcast and trading cards, and his comic Exterminite. This one is also at your friendly local game store!
Munchkin Apocalypse Guest Artist Edition and Munchkin Apocalypse 2 Guest Artist Edition, also illustrated by Len Peralta – In Munchkin Apocalypse and its expansions, players are survivors during a catastrophic end-of-the-world scenario, where any and every disaster will probably take place. This version is only available at Barnes & Noble!
Munchkin Fu Guest Artist Edition, by John Kovalic – Original Munchkin illustrator John Kovalic did the honors on this Guest Artist Edition, as the first edtion of Munchkin Fu had art from Greg Hyland. It's at hobby stores, and on Warehouse 23. If you love Kovalic's art, you've got no excuse to pass this one up.
Munchkin Legends Guest Artist Edition, by Mike Luckas – Available only at Target, this game is inspired by myths and legends from around the world! Luckas has done work for Skullkickers and the Munchkin comic. Go get it exclusively at Target before it's gone!
Munchkin Cthulhu Guest Artist Edition, by Katie Cook – Also available at your FLGS, Cook's Cthulhu is the best of both cuteness and cosmic terror. Cook, known for her work on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and her original comic Gronk, has a pretty good-sized fan base. So make sure you get a copy of this game before it's gone.
Munchkin Oz Guest Artist Edition, by Katie Cook – Cook teamed up with us again to do a version of Oz -- only for Amazon.com. So if what you want is a Guest Artist Edition delivered to your doorstep, make it Oz!
Munchkin Pathfinder Guest Artist Edition, by Shane White – Coming later this year, this Guest Artist Edition features fantasy-rific art from a comic artist who's worked on Pathfinder: Goblins!, Bad Karma, and Comic Book Tattoo.
Munchkin Zombies Guest Artist Edition, by Greg Hyland – Technically, Hyland did the first "guest artist edition" of a Munchkin game years ago when he drew the original Munchkin Fu. Now he's back with an undead set of cards that really show off just how mangled these zombies are. Hyland is known for his comic Lethargic Lad, and he helps to storyboard Lego TV commercials. This spooky game will be in stores later this month!
Munchkin Guest Artist Edition, by Edwin Huang – We return to the original Munchkin game early next year with the release of Edwin Huang's take on the game that started it all. Huang also draws Street Fighter Unlimited comics.
Super Munchkin Guest Artist Edition, by Lar deSouza – In spring of 2017, we'll release this take on Super Munchkin from the co-creator of Shuster Award-winning comics Least I Could Do and Looking For Group.

October 9, 2016: Breaking News: People Play Games
Boardgames have left the unfurnished basement shop and entered the well-lit, family-friendly café.
Why? A combination of widespread mobile gaming, which makes more people willing to play games in general, plus the ubiquity of online social interaction, which makes people crave something fun to do face-to-face.
At least, that's the story told in a new article from UK newspaper The Guardian .
That article, "The Rise and Rise of Tabletop Gaming," is pretty lengthy, and digs into what specific factors, people, and games helped boardgaming get bigger than it's ever been, even during the age of Monopoly and Clue (or Cluedo , as they say in the UK). Yes, it talks about Pandemic .
It's an interesting outsider's look at how it came to pass that your grandmother has probably heard of Catan , Sushi Go! , or maybe even Munchkin . So if you want that perspective, even if just to see how a newspaper reporter words a layman's description of Dungeons & Dragons , give it a read.

Warehouse 23 News: Cthulhu Has Never Been So Cute!
Katie Cook, illustrator of Munchkin Love Shark Baby and creator of Gronk: A Monster's Story , brings her own patented form of adorable to Munchkin Cthulhu ! Losing your mind has never been so cute. Celebrate 15 years of Warehouse 23 now!

October 8, 2016: Why We Lock The Vault
Our blog readers are used to getting glimpses into the world of Munchkin game design from Munchkin Czar Andrew Hackard. So we've switched it up.
This time, he's written an article that gives a peek behind the scenes of Munchkin marketing. Go take a look at "It's All Our Vault" on Medium to find out just why you can buy our Munchkin holiday items only during the holidays.
Hint: It's not because Santa Claus refuses to work during the hot summer months. (Although, to be fair, Santa Claus does refuse to work during the hot summer months.)
