Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays because it celebrates love. For me it isn’t just about the life partners we have but those who are a part of our lives. Hope this is a day of smiles and kindness for those who matter to you.

Super Bowl Soon!

I was rooting for two teams last night, Denver and Carolina. Both won. Now I have to decide which to cheer for at the Super Bowl. First, there is Peyton. I really like the idea of a man his age getting his team to the Super Bowl. Then there is Carolina & Cam Newton. Since I am from Auburn, Alabama, I just have to root for Cam & Carolina. I thought about hoping for a tie but that won’t happen. So it looks as though, either way, I am going to see a great game.

Chamber Music

Attended a Chamber Music performance at the Friends of Music in Live Oak. A delightful evening with friends listening to music from 1500 to late 1700. The three piece ensemble, violin, oboe and organ, was wonderful. The reception after was fun and just right for the cold front descending just outside the door. Drove home with the moon roof open to a really gorgeous night sky. It was a perfect end to a wonderful evening even if the wind tried to blow us into the house.

I wish everyone a safe Saturday and hopefully a warm one wherever you are. Sending a little Florida sun to you all. We aren’t warm here but we aren’t buried in snow either.

Wonderful End to a Great Week

Very busy week. Went to my first TWA meeting last night. Great bunch of people, really focused on writing, supporting each other and new writers. A number of promo possibilities were discussed as well as an outreach mentor and judge event for the local school.

Will be meeting with care giving conference group on Wednesday this coming week. Very excited about the possibilities for the conference in April.

Have begun Diamond and Ice, the second book in the Pippa Series. I amusing Dragon software for the first time and getting a kick out of the results. Choices is the first of the Pippa Series.

Chase the Fire is with the narrator for the audio book. Can’t wait to hear the first chapter.

Audition for Chase the Fire

Audition day for the audio book of Chase The Fire. Annette, my favorite narrator, has sent a great audition once again. Love the flow she is giving the book even in this small test. With her schedule and mine, it looks as though we will get the audio version out near the end of February. Can’t wait.

Care Giving: Real Life Answers is also getting attention. I am talking with a group that is putting together a conference on care giving. The first meeting is tentatively scheduled for next week. I am delighted to be considered for this project. So fingers crossed all goes well.

Finally got to finish your fantastic book.

Good heavens…..so so great.
Listen, I have never given a review before.
Wow….talk about covering the waterfront.
Your book, Care Giving: Real Life Answers, should be on everyone’s book
shelf.
Treasures of information.   It’s all there…the questions are already
answered.    Well done…..

Chase the Fire is Now Available

I am delighted to announce that CHASE THE FIRE IS NOW AVAILABLE ON AMAZON AND KINDLE. I have also added the match book feature which allows you to purchase the softcover book on Amazon and get the kindle version for free. Since I am a book lover, I enjoy being able to have the book in my hnads when I have time to curl up and read and also on my kindle when I travel. Many of my friends feel the same so I am happy to offer this advantage with Chase the Fire.

FROM THE BACK COVER:

                                                                                             FIRE IN HER HEART

From the moment Miranda Major realized the only thing she had of her own was her name, she had a fire in her heart to create a life of success, achievement, financial security and, most important of all, a home and family of her own. In her drive to succeed, she loses sight of the most essential items on her list.

Suddenly, a stalker rips apart her professional success and her sense of security. A whim, a desperate need to escape the man trying to kill her, takes her from the sun drenched beaches of south Florida to the farmland of north Florida. Tractors, trucks and tall lean men with slow southern drawls replace the tanned, buffed urban males

she had known.

A choice, a country road taken, a cantankerous donkey and a green eyed man with a voice meant for hot sultry nights challenges her to stop running. The fire that had driven her to succeed against all odds blazes again. She was not a woman to be beaten by fate.

The stalker waits in the shadows ready to strike again…

And the man with the voice to whisper secrets at midnight stands beside her. Could she believe the life she had always wanted was only a heartbeat away?

I enjoyed writing Miranda’s story very much and discovered that, as usual, my characters had minds of their own. I thought this was a stand alone story but it turns out that four of the secondary characters want their own books. So there will be at least two more books. Sneaky as the four are, they have already started pairing up. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

The New Year Begins

Woke up this morning to soft gray skies and misty rain which we need. Plans for the day are centered around watching the Rose Bowl Parade with friends and with lots of goodies to sample. There is talk of a jigsaw puzzle which is a hobby with us. We’ll see what the weather does after lunch. Still have a few Christmas decorations to take down and store but since they are outside, I’ll have to wait until the weather clears if it does.

The New Year is already opening up lots of possibilities. I will be posting about them shortly as soon as details are completed. It already looks like it is going to be a very busy and productive year.

Ending the Year with a Celebration

Chase the Fire is in the final proofing stage. This is always an exciting time for me even after seeing more than thirty books in print and millions of copies sold. It never gets old watching one of my stories getting ready to leave the nest of my office and fly out into the world. The cover is wonderful thanks to a great graphic designer and I fell in love with Miranda and Archer from the moment I met them.  My next project will be an enhanced reprint of Diamond on Ice. I really can’t wait to revisit Jason and Diana again. They are a magic couple both on and off the ice.

Also, I am working on two personal appearances with an eye on a third just in the first quarter of 2016. Wow! As soon as the details are firmed up I will be posting the dates and locations on the event page. I am really excited by these possibilities as all three are new to me.

So, it looks like 2016 is definitely starting off with a bang!
