Playing the Game
What is this game you’re playing with my heart?
Don’t you know I’m crazy about you?
You keep weaving in and out of my life.
Now I’m all alone without a clue.
What’s the worst that could happen if you stay?
You might find some happiness with me. But
Without a word you just up and walk away.
This is not the way it’s supposed to be.
There’s a lesson out there in the darkness,
One my lonely heart has yet to learn,
But you keep running away, playing the game.
One day I won’t be here when you return.
I really didn’t mind too much
The first time.
You still had a few wild oats to sew.
When you came back I thought it was forever.
I was blind. How was I to know?
But I won’t be your safety net any longer.
You can’t treat my heart like a swinging door.
Finally I’ve put it all together,
And I’m not playing your game anymore.

This Old House
This old house could tell
A hundred million stories.
Every corner holds a secret,
There’s a book in every stone.
There are spirits who
Reside in every hallway
Telling tales that reach
Into the great unknown.
But there’s one story
That is still to be told.
It’s a story of you and me,
And it’s yet to unfold.
I’ve been trying to tell the world
How wonderful it can all be.
Ours is the greatest love
This old house will ever see.
All these memories
That we keep adding onto,
All the days of our love and laughter,
All the nights held in your arms.
How I long for this
To go on for forever
Here in this old house
Where we’re both safe and warm.
And we’ll keep singing
Through the joy and the pain.
We’ll fill every empty room

Fills my canvas of angel wings

My best friend told me ‘bout a rumor he heard,

Giving them the third degree.
I just can’t believe a simple guy like me
Could have a chance with someone like you.

I hate it when we disagree and
You storm out in rage
Leaving me to search my empty soul
Like a tiger in a cage.

Hold Me
Daylight breaks the silence in a world of dreams,
A world where you’re forever in my heart.
I awake with just a pillow to wrap my arms around
And the agonizing knowledge that we’re so far apart.
I work all day trying to keep busy,
But you are in my mind constantly.
I dream about the day I’ll be coming home to you,
And how everything is going to be alright

Every day that passes brings me closer to your arms,
One day closer to your loving face.

And feel the gentle touch of your embrace.
