Is Compromising Genesis with Millions of Years Cult-Like?

Before I dive into this, I want to say that I realize the following statement could easily be taken out of context from what Im about to communicate and that some people no doubt will be very upset with me for saying it. So, as you read this, please read it in context with everything I say throughout the blog. Okay, ready? Here we go!

I believe those who compromise Gods Word in Genesis with evolution/millions of years are doing something similar, in a specific way that Ill explain, to w...

WhewWhat a Busy Week (But an Amazing One!)

Whewwe just finished a very busy week at the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum. Our Answers Homeschool Experience just wrapped up, and, wow, it was busy. But it was such a wonderful week! Families were encouraged, equipped, and strengthenedand they had so much fun! I had many families thank me profusely for providing such a program for them.

Hundreds of families heard from keynote speakers, including Heidi St. John, Alex Kendrick, Martyn Iles, me, and others. They also enjoyed a variety of...

GenesisIt Explains the Origin of Everything!

The meaning of anything depends on its origin. And did you know that the book of Genesis gives us an account of the origin of all the basic entities of life and the universe? Lets start listing them:

Genesis is a very important book as it provides the foundation for the rest of the Bible, for our Christian worldview, for all doctrine, and, in fact, for everything.
The origin of space, matter, and timeThe origin of the earthThe origin of waterThe origin of the atmosphere and hydrosphereThe orig...

Are Christian Beliefs Radical?

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. (2 Timothy 4:34)

One of the observations Ive made in recent times is that basic beliefs Christians have held to for 2,000 years (and the Israelites before them for hundreds more years!) are suddenly being portrayed as radical beliefs. At times, its as if...

I Have Concerns About Orange

What curriculum does your church use for their childrens and teen ministry? For over 10,000 churches, including, apparently, 49% of the fastest growing churches, the answer is Orange, a curriculum that claims to impact over one million children and teens per year. But I have concerns about this popular curriculum.

Be Human

In late 2021, I wrote a short blog post about a mailer one of our staff members received for Oranges 2022 childrens ministry conference Be Human. As ...

Does the Bible Just Contain the Word of God?

Can you recognize liberal or progressive theology? Do evolution and liberal/progressive theology go hand-in-hand? Well, let me answer this question with an illustration from several decades ago.

In Australia in 1977, the Uniting Church of Australia was formed. This involved the union of three churches: the Congregational Union of Australia, the Methodist Church of Australasia, and the Presbyterian Church of Australia.

I remember my father showing me the wording used to explain the foundation for ...

She/Her and He/Him: Should We Use Transgender Pronouns?

She/her, he/him, they/them, ze/zir, and the list goes onshould Christian use transgender pronouns? Should we call a man she/her if he asks us to? Should we use they/them to describe a person? As what are called preferred pronouns increasingly pop up in email signatures, on name tags, and in corporate LGBTQ sensitivity training seminars, its a question every Christian must grapple with.

Dr. Rosaria Butterfield Repents on This Issue

I was reminded of this recently when I saw...

Life or DeathWhich Will You Choose?

Life or death? In Jeremiah 21:8 we read, And to this people you shall say: Thus says the Lord: Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death. Now, the choice seems easy to uschoose life, of course! But lets think about this from the perspective of the Israelites to whom this verse in Jeremiah was originally given.

The Chaldeans (the Babylonians) had besieged the city of Jerusalem. These people were described by God in Habakkuk 1:6 as a ruthless people (NIV...
