Best of BB09

AiG Photo FX photographers Deb and Marty Minnard have put together a couple hundred slides taken at the Bethlehem Blessings 2009 (BB09) Live Nativity program over Christmas. I have selected just seven of those photographs for this blog. Over 17,000 visitors (up 50% from last year) attended the BB09 program.

Amazing Faith-Strengthening Site

We do receive a lot of great feedback concerning the www.answersingenesis.org website (and of course we do get some very negative feedback as...

The Seven K's of History

Well we know about the 7 C's of history—which is the basis of the Creation Museum, where one walks through the history of the universe, according to the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, Consummation. We now have the 7 K's of history—let me explain:

Below is a picture of Matthew Morhart, a missionary who has worked to translate two of AiG's booklets into Creole (Kreyòl). One booklet is "Where Did Cain Get His Wife?"  The other...

"Ferry" Good DVD

Well—sorry about the pun! AiG's CCO Mark Looy is known around the office for his "creative" puns! And it was Mark who suggested this heading!

Last week I took the locally well-known Anderson Ferry across the Ohio River—from Northern Kentucky to the Cincinnati side of the river. Our captain, John James, spotted me in my car and held up his copy of our Answers Update newsletter so that I could see he had been reading it.

John also told me that at home, he had just finished watching Dr. Jason...

Looking Back at . . . 2007

On the front page of the opinion section of our local newspaper the Cincinnati Enquirer on Sunday, December 27, there was a timeline presented of the years 2000–2009—with a photo assigned to each year. For 2000, for example, it was a picture of George W. Bush and Al Gore, representing their tight race for the presidency. What was the photo selected for 2007? A picture of the Creation Museum! (The museum opened in 2007.) We were thrilled to see that recognition, although we noted that the...

Historic Photograph

The following photograph is very historic for me.  We had two visiting families from Australia  over to the house and the Creation Museum for Christmas, and it brought back many memories.

The Salmon family—Paul Salmon was the business manager for the creation  ministry in Australia for many years.  We developed a great relationship over that time.

The Van Luyn family—Carol also worked in the creation ministry alongside Paul for many years.  In fact, Carol typed the original manuscript of my...

Second Graders Instructed to Sing about Allah

One of the things we have noticed in the USA in recent times is that it is politically "correct" to mock Christians, eliminate Christian references from the public, etc.—but it is ok and politically correct to mention teachings from other religions in a generally positive light!  It seems Christians are the 'bad guys' these days.  Accordingly, here are excerpts from a Fox News Radio program (from its website):

A battle over religion is brewing in central Indiana after a public school wanted...

Coast to Coast Hiker to Visit The Museum

A West Virginia newspaper carried an interesting news report that stated:

A Colorado man is using a love of the outdoors to promote the love of Jesus Christ. Daniel Johnson of Colorado Springs is hiking through the country as part of the "Coast to Coast for Christ" program.

"I am hiking from the top of Maine to the bottom of California, spreading the word of the gospel," Johnson said.

The news report also stated:

In about two weeks Johnson hopes to be in the Cincinnati area, touring the...

Excited about the "Knee-high" Museum

Eleven-year-old Emily recently read our Answers Update newsletter and its special insert about our planned "knee-high" level children's exhibits in the Creation Museum. (See my previous blog item about the animatronic Noah being installed as one of the exhibits.)

Knee-high Museum Insert

When she read about the matching gift offer from a generous AiG supporter, she was motivated to help raise funds for these exciting new exhibits (the first of which will be installed early next year). Emily decorated a large...

More Atheists/Agnostics Visit

We strongly encourage atheists and agnostics to visit our Creation Museum. For example, we welcomed a group of over 285 atheists/agnostics on one day last August. Think about it: would most atheists even think about visiting a church and hearing the Bible be preached, including the gospel message? But they might consider touring our museum out of curiosity—and thus get biblical teachings.

On Tuesday we were visited by three members of a group called SOMA (no, not the School of Missionary...
