So Now Biblical Christians Are “Non-Jihadist Terrorists” and a “Greater Threat Than Those Who Admire Al Qaeda”? Beware!
Biblical Christians are being actively maligned with deliberate attempts to marginalize us in this increasingly secularized culture.
In recent times we have see an increase in secularists doing the following:
Accusing Christians/creationists of “child abuse” (as Lawrence Krauss, Arizona State University professor, has been delcaring in recent times).
Claiming Christianity is a virus (as atheist Richard Dawkins and others have done).
Accusing people with religious convictions of mental health issues—and causing children to have their own mental health problems (as we saw in a recent TIME article).
I want to suggest to you there is an increasing ploy by secularists to indoctrinate the public into thinking that biblical Christians are the enemy and dangerous to the culture. I must admit, I’ve been quite surprised at how rapidly the anti-Christian rhetoric is growing across this country.
You may be shocked to read what was written in a CNN opinion piece April 4 by Peter Bergen. CNN describes the author this way:
Peter Bergen is CNN’s national security analyst, the author of “Manhunt: The Ten-Year Search for bin Laden — From 9/11 to Abbottabad” and a director at the New America Foundation. Jennifer Rowland is a program associate at the New America Foundation.
In this opinion piece titled “Growing threat of extreme right-wing violence,” Bergen states the following:
But the New America data shows that domestic terrorists motivated by non-jihadist ideologies now pose a similar or even greater threat than those who admire al Qaeda. We define non-jihadist terrorists to be those who carry out or aspire to carry out acts of politically motivated violence, and who fall into the following categories: right-wing extremists who oppose the government, subscribe to a neo-Nazi ideology, or oppose homosexuality or abortion; left-wing extremists; violent animal rights activists; and violent environmental activists. (emphasis mine)
So according to CNN’s national security analyst, those who oppose homosexual behavior or abortion (that is, biblical Christians) are “non-jihadist terrorists” and a “greater threat than those who admire al Qaeda”—a “threat” to the culture.
Christians and Christian leaders need to wake up their local churches to what is happening. Christian persecution for those who take God at His Word is underway in this nation. America has gone over the edge of a precipice and is on a catastrophic spiritual decline from a Christian perspective—with increasing attacks against biblical Christians.
We are in a massive spiritual battle.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:10–18)

Overflow Crowd in Virginia
This weekend, Friday through Sunday, Dr. Andrew Snelling and I have been speaking at an AiG conference at Centreville Baptist Church in Virginia (near Washington DC).
We were thrilled to see an overflow crowd Friday night and a packed auditorium again Saturday morning for the two sessions. What a great opportunity Saturday night to speak to the large number of young people who turned out for the special session for youth.
Dr. Snelling and I were inundated after the sessions with people asking questions and giving testimonies as to how AiG had so positively affected them personally and their families.
Here is a photograph taken Friday night to show some of the crowd:
By Saturday lunch time we hardly had any of the resources left even though we shipped a number of pallets of books and DVDs. One of our staff came up with a novel idea; we photocopied the covers of the books and DVDs, and we had those placed on the tables last night. People then brought the photocopied covers of the books and DVDs that we had run out of and the attendees really wanted to purchase. We arranged to have the resources shipped to them from our warehouse back home, but we still gave the people the special prices we offered them at the conference. I must admit, I haven’t seen such a hunger for our resources for quite some time.
There’s no doubt that God has His people across this nation who do stand boldly and uncompromisingly on His Word.
I had a number of families tell me their children had heard me when they were very young, and now they are teenagers or older and really going on for the Lord using AiG resources. I also had a number of people tell me it was because of the Lord using AiG resources—the apologetics and our stand on God’s Word—that they committed their lives to the Lord.
What a blessing this conference has been.
Here are some more photos taken at the event:
I want to thank Dr. Ron Reese and Jeremy Gibson for the countless hours they put in over the past two years to organize this successful conference,

Great ABC Opportunity for Canadians
Answers in Genesis participates in and organizes “Answers” conferences around the USA and in many countries every year. Sometimes we choose to participate by having a booth at select conferences put on by organizations who share our passion for reaching today’s culture with the importance of biblical authority.
The Alberta Home Education Association’s conference in Red Deer (Alberta, Canada) is one of those where we will have a large booth presence. The conference theme this year is “Standing Firm.” This is an appropriate exhortation for Christians everywhere as pressure from secular forces makes it challenging to hold to the sound teaching found in Scripture related to marriage, origins, and other important foundational teachings in Genesis. There are biblical answers to tough questions, and we make them available in our many resources at these conferences.
I had the privilege of speaking as the keynote speaker at this conference a few years ago and the response was overwhelmingly positive. This year our friend Voddie Baucham is the keynote speaker. Voddie has spoken at AiG conferences with rave reviews for his firm stand on biblical authority and excellent teaching on marriage and the family.
We are very excited to be bringing inventory of our new Answers Bible Curriculum (ABC) with us. It can be used in home schools, Christian schools, and Sunday schools. If you live in the region, please attend this year to show your support for this biblically minded home educator conference. Remember to stop by our booth to say hi and get your ABC curriculum for the coming year.
Don’t miss the upcoming Home Education Conference in Red Deer April 12 & 13. We will also be featuring other apologetics and homeschool curricula.
Go to this link to find out more about this conference in Canada.
What Is “ABC”
AiG’s integrated, three-year Bible curriculum is proving to be extremely popular—in fact, it’s so popular that our warehouse can hardly keep up with the orders. It really is an incredible curriculum to teach apologetics and biblical authority—and to teach chronologically through Scripture. We call it Answers Bible Curriculum. It can be used for Sunday school, Christian school, or at home. We received this letter from a supporter recently:
I want to thank AiG for such an amazing curriculum. As Christian parents we want our children to believe in God and serve Him, but we often fail at teaching them God’s Word and how to defend their faith. Answers Bible Curriculum provides an invaluable tool that enables us to equip our children to defend their faith against the common opinions that deny the veracity of God’s truth. Our children are prepared to refute any claim of an old earth with accurate biblical knowledge. They understand the role of man and woman and God’s definition of marriage. They are convinced, from studying the Bible, that God’s Word can be trusted and it is true. I have been teaching the Bible at my church for four years. But, my most rewarding class is my own family. Every Saturday afternoon we go to our upstairs home-made classroom to study God’s Word and find Answers in Genesis.
You can find out more about this amazing curriculum and how to purchase it at AnswersBibleCurriculum.com.

Religious Freedom Under Threat
Recently I wrote a blog post about a German homeschool family that has asked for asylum in the USA—but the current administration is opposing the request by the Romeike family. Sadly, the arguments the American administration is using could be utilized one day to close down homeschooling in America and restrict the overall religious freedom this country has enjoyed since its founding.
This homeschool situation was also discussed in an AiG News to Note item.
Now the HSLDA (Homeschool Legal Defense Association) is asking for help in the Romeike case. The HSLDA stated the following:
Homeschool Freedom Knocks at Obama’s DoorIn just three weeks HSLDA will appear before the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals to fight for homeschool freedom in a precedent-setting case that will impact homeschool freedoms at home and around the world.
Winning once, losing once, the Romeike family is now in court for the third time after fleeing homeschool persecution in Germany.
HSLDA’s plan to help the family includes two prongs:
Our team of crack attorneys winning in the oral arguments in court.
100,000 of you signing this White House petition before April 18.The White House has committed to respond to petitions that get 100,000 signatures. We need you and your friends (and your kids 13 and up) to go and sign this petition.
It does matter. Your signature does count.
The White House petition gives us an opportunity to get the attention of the Obama Administration and ask them to directly intervene and grant this family permanent legal status.
You have the opportunity to virtually rally with tens of thousands of homeschoolers “in front” of the White House. Homeschoolers have shown they are a mighty force to be reckoned with in the past—making phone calls and sending emails and letters, when parental rights and homeschooling freedom are on the line.
We’re asking you to stand for freedom again. With us. For the Romeikes. And for the future of homeschooling in America.
You can access the HSLDA petition page at this link. I would ask you to consider signing this petition and to share this blog post to as many people as possible.

Muslim More “Christian” Than Catholic Archbishop!
A top-rated national TV program in my homeland of Australia called “Q & A” this past Monday featured a panel consisting of the following:
The Roman Catholic archbishop of Brisbane, Australia
The founding director of the Griffith University Islamic Research Unit (GIRU) and director of the Queensland node of the National Centre of Excellence for Islamic Studies (NCEIS)
A Tibetan Buddhist
A “gay” atheist
The artistic director of the Queensland Music Festival for the 2009 and 2011 programs
You can view the program below. It is worth watching the entire program, but I highlighted the following for you:
1. In the first eight minutes, the panel is asked about creation. The question posed by a person in the audience actually was a problem in itself, in that the person talked about the beautiful creation. But of course, all is not beautiful; there is beauty but also ugliness because a “very good” creation became marred by sin. But of course, that topic was never discussed. But the most striking part of this section in the TV program was that the Catholic archbishop totally rejected Genesis, thanked God for Darwin, and said God is only good for one thing! To me, the Catholic Archbishop seemed to almost show disdain for the Word of God, yet the Muslim spoke authoritatively and clearly showed he believes his Koran as authoritative. And he defended a literal Adam and a literal Eve. In fact, everyone except the Muslim leader seemed to be closer to the atheist in their beliefs, including the Catholic archbishop.
2. At the 44:25 point in the program, you will see a discussion on homosexuality. The Catholic archbishop, once again, talked around the issue, gave his opinions, and said nothing definitive. But when it came to the Muslim, he called homosexual behavior a sin and also discussed having compassion for the homosexuals. The Muslim spoke authoritatively and actually gave a much more “Christian” answer, if you will, than the archbishop who did not mention the word sin.
3. In the last section at 52:45, you will sadly hear the archbishop grappling for words to deal with the “gay” marriage issue. It’s because he does not speak with the authority of the Word of God. The archbishop just gave his opinions, and he ended up digging himself into a hole. The archbishop merely talked about the “wisdom of the ages”—whatever that is.
I encourage you to watch the three sections I highlighted—see the video below. If only Christian leaders (and Christians in general) would speak with the same sort of authority about God’s Word as the Muslim man did about the Koran, and the church wouldn’t be in such a mess as it is today.
You can watch the video below or on the TV program’s website.

Remembering Dr. Gish This Saturday
If you live in Southern California, I hope you’ll be able to drive and attend Saturday’s memorial service of a great Christian apologist and one of my heroes of the faith, Dr. Duane Gish. He was a brilliant scientist, debater, and writer—and just a wonderful human being with a passion for God’s Word. If you haven’t yet, I encourage you to read my tribute to Dr. Gish.
The details of Dr. Gish’s memorial service are as follows:
10 AM, Saturday, April 6
Shadow Mountain Community Church
2100 Greenfield Drive, El Cajon, CA 92019
(That’s about 20 minutes east of San Diego—one mile south of I-8 at the Greenfield exit.)
Our website has another tribute, which includes more information on Dr. Gish’s impressive background—he was known worldwide as creation’s foremost debater. Please read this moving tribute from AiG CCO Mark Looy. Mark will attend the service and speak briefly about his dear friend, Dr. Gish, and how God used Dr. Gish in his life. (I will be speaking in Washington DC that day and sadly can’t attend.)
If you attend the service, I also encourage you to visit the well-done creationist museum in nearby Santee. The Creation and Earth History Museum is free. Find out more and get directions at creationsd.org. Here is a photo of Dr. Gish and me as we chatted last year. I will miss this man greatly.
Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for praying—including for Duane’s wife Lolly, their four children, and several grandchildren.

I Would Rather Learn More About God
We’ve had many people come to the Creation Museum to celebrate significant occasions, such as anniversaries, weddings, and birthdays. Recently, a seven-year-old girl named Anna decided she wanted to celebrate her birthday at the Creation Museum. I thought I would share her father’s January email to us because it’s a testimony to the impact we are having as we strive to share the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Hello, I wanted to let you know the impact the Creation Museum has had on my soon-to-be 7 year old daughter. We made our first visit to the Creation Museum 2 years ago. Ever since that time, my daughter Anna has been asking when we will be returning. In November we . . . won tickets to the Creation Museum in a silent auction benefit dinner. This excited Anna. Anna has a birthday coming up (February 6). We asked her what she wanted to do for her birthday. We gave her the choice of having a birthday party with her friends at a bowling alley or to go to the Creation Museum. She decided she wanted to celebrate her birthday at the Creation Museum because, to quote her, “I would rather learn more about God”. Needless to say this made her mom and I very proud of her.
As such, we will be visiting the Creation Museum on February 1 and February 2 to celebrate Anna’s birthday. We will be bringing with us myself, my wife, Emma (Anna’s 3 year old sister), grandma, and one of Anna’s cousins. I thought that it would be fantastic if the Creation Museum would surprise her with some type of birthday recognition — that would be such a huge moment and memory for her.
She absolutely loves the Creation Museum and loves learning about God and Jesus. She shares her faith openly with everyone — she is a fantastic witness and loves to learn about our Lord. Thank you for helping us to keep our daughter’s faith strong and for keeping her so excited about God’s Word. Thank you.
It’s always so encouraging to read about children who love the Lord and want to share His truth with others. And the staff at the Creation Museum did surprise Anna with a special birthday card (see below). Also, you can see Anna with her gifts.

Birds Produce Wings—Evolution?
A recent article from the UK’s Daily Mail declared, “Swallows are evolving shorter wings because they keep getting hit by traffic.” Now, the article explains the results of a recent study from the journal Current Biology. The study examined cliff swallows, both living and dead, that build their mud nests on highway overpasses, to see if there were certain traits in swallows that favored their survival. The researchers argued that natural selection should “favor individuals that either learn to avoid cars or that have other traits making them less likely to collide with vehicles.” The study found that the swallows that survived had shorter wingspans, while the ones that died had longer wings.
The study mentioned nothing about evolution—and yet the article from the Daily Mail (typical of the secular media that is out to push its atheistic agenda and brainwash the public) indicated that the study has everything to do with evolution. The article even quotes an American evolutionary scientist about the results:
The findings are an example of how urban environments can become evolutionary hotspots, according to lead scientist Dr. Charles Brown, from the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma. “Evolution is an ongoing process, and all this—roads, SUVs, and all—is part of nature or ‘the wild’; they exert selection pressures in a way we don’t usually think about,” he said.
But what these researchers observed happening to the swallows doesn’t have anything to do with molecules-to-man evolution! The swallows didn’t change into another kind of animal—they’re all still swallows. No new information was added to the genes of the swallows. Swallows grow wings—some shorter, some longer—but they are still wings on swallows!
What this study shows us is the potential for variation in length of wings that exists in the swallows’ DNA. The genetic information for shorter wings was already present. Nothing about this study in any way gives support to evolutionary ideas, despite what some news sources falsely claim. Basically, one could say that those swallows with shorter wings survived better than those with longer wings—so the shorter-winged birds prevailed in this population. And this is supposedly great evidence for evolution? Wow—does that convince you?
Now, if a reptile that doesn’t have the information for wings was somehow able to develop this new information in their genes so they could grow feathers and produce wings—that would be an example to support molecules-to-man evolution. But of course, one never sees (and never will see) such an example.
So when God created the great sea creatures and the winged birds on Day Five of Creation Week, He built in the genetic variety these creatures would need to live in this world. And they were all created “according to their kind” (Genesis 1:21)—meaning they would never change from one animal kind to another. However, there is great variation within each kind reflecting the creativity of our all-powerful God.

From Virgin Birth to Glorious Resurrection
One of my heroes of the faith is theologian Dr. John Whitcomb. He is a coauthor (along with the late Dr. Henry Morris) of the famous book, The Genesis Flood. This is the book that really started the modern biblical creation movement over 50 years ago.
Dr. Whitcomb gave us permission to reprint an article he wrote—titled “From Virgin Birth to Glorious Resurrection.” I thought this would be very suitable for this “Resurrection Sunday.”
From Virgin Birth to Glorious Resurrection:
The Son of God and Women
By DR. JOHN C. WHITCOMB
President, Whitcomb Ministries, Inc.
It is fascinating to see the part women had in the life of God’s Son during His third of a century on this planet. We all know of His arrival in the body of a young virgin and of the encouragement that Elizabeth and Anna gave to her at that time (cf. Luke 1:36-45; 2:36-38).
Then, for 30 years, Joseph and His mother had authority over Jesus (cf. Luke 2:51; Matt. 13:55). Mary suffered much shame in that notorious town of Nazareth for having a son by an unknown father (cf. John 1:46; 8:41, 48).
During the three years of His public ministry in Israel, the Savior cured women who were ailing (cf. Matt. 8:14-15; 9:20-22), raised one from the dead (cf. Matt. 9:18-26), and highly praised one for her sacrificial giving (cf. Luke. 21:1-4). He also reached out to “a woman of Samaria” (John 4:7ff.) and to “a woman of Canaan” (Matt. 15:22) in the land of Tyre and Sidon, concerning whom He said: “Great is your faith!” (Matt. 15:28).
Much if not most of the finances that our Lord and His apostles needed came from women who were thankful for His ministry in their own lives (cf. Luke 8:1-3). Also, Mary and Martha, sistersof Lazarus, provided rare hospitality and devotion to Him at Bethany, near Jerusalem (cf. Luke 10:38-42; John 11:1-45; 12:1-8).
Finally, when the Lord Jesus was betrayed by Judas and abandoned by the other disciples (cf. Matt. 26:47-56), it was women who stayed by our Savior as He was crucified (cf. Matt. 27:55, 56; Mark 15:40, 41). The one named last, Salome, was a sister of Jesus’ mother and the mother of the apostles James and John. Then the apostle John returned to Jesus with these four women (cf. Jn. 19:25-27). Amazing! Of all His disciples, only one man showed such devotion to the end – and four women!
Even more amazing, if possible, is the record of what women did when Jesus died and rose again. When Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus buried the body of Jesus in a special tomb (cf. John 19:38-42), “the women who had come with Him from Galilee followed after, and they observed the tomb and how His body was laid” (Luke 23:55).
“And Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary (‘the mother of James the Less and of Joses’ [Mark 15:40]), sitting opposite the tomb” (Matt. 27:61). Reverently and lovingly, “They returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils” (Luke 23:56), fulfilling what Mary of Bethany had done when she anointed Jesus’ feet in anticipation of “the day of My burial” (John 12:7).
Then, early on Resurrection Sunday, these women brought the spices they had purchased to “anoint Him … But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away—for it was very large” (Mark 16:1, 4). But the body of the Lord Jesus was missing! Two angels appeared and told them the most astounding of all facts: “He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay” (Matt. 28:6).
But how was His resurrection in a glorified body to be made known to the human race? Not by angels but, first of all, by believing women! “Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles” (Luke 24:9, 10).
“So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word. And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, ‘Rejoice!’ So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him. Then Jesus said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me’” (Matt. 28:8-10).
Was their report enthusiastically welcomed by the apostles? No! “Their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them” (Luke 24:11). This is a major emphasis in the history of Christ’s resurrection. The apostles were not expecting, anticipating or hoping for His resurrection. Some have insisted that they were just hallucinating when they claimed to have seen Him alive again. No! These men were totally transformed from frail and feeble doubters into fervent evangelists because of the One whom they actually saw! Under the threat of death, they were now willing to say: “For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20; cf. 5:29).
The apostles, like most Jews at that time, did not have high respect for the witness of women. Josephus, the Jewish historian, stated: “Let not the testimony of women be admitted …” (Antiquities 4.8.15). But God‘s perspective was different (cf. Acts 18:24-26, Rom. 16:1-6, and 2 Tim. 1:5). If someone simply invented the glorious resurrection of Jesus, he would never have chosen women to be the first witnesses. That is one of the many ways God has confirmed the absolute truth of five – not just two – historians: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Paul.
In spite of all that our Lord had said about His coming resurrection (cf. Matt. 16:21; 17:9, 23; 20:19; Jn. 2:19), the apostles did not believe this could happen. And in spite of the urgent testimony of several godly women that it did happen, they refused to believe. But today, millions of women have something those women did not have – the completed Bible!
Dear woman, today you too can know Him, and you can have a vital ministry under God wherever He has placed you. This is first in your home, humbly recognizing the leadership of your father or husband (Eph. 6:1-3; Titus 2:5; 1 Pet. 3:1-7), and also in your church, showing respect to your godly pastor (1 Tim. 2:11; Heb. 13:17). Then, you can help people around the world to believe in our glorified Savior, as revealed in His infallible Word.
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Rom. 10:17).
Have a blessed and meaningful Easter Sunday!

Surprised at an “Answers” Conference in Chicago
It’s not too often that I am totally surprised, but I was wondering what was happening when Mr. Walt Sivertsen walked on the platform during our “Answers” conference in Chicago recently.
Walt was holding something in a frame as he walked to the podium. He told the conference audience gathered at Quentin Road Bible Baptist Church that his creation group, Midwest Creation Fellowship, had passed a resolution—which they called a “spiritual bouquet.” In the resolution, it stated that because the “principalities and powers of darkness have captured the minds of many in our society, and whereas Ken Ham left his homeland of Australia to confront the forces arrayed against God and His Word,” I was being acknowledged by the MCF. I accepted the resolution on behalf of the entire staff of Answers in Genesis.
The Midwest Creation Fellowship exists (as it states on its website) to “encourage fellow Christians by showing that the Genesis account of creation and the subsequent world-wide flood” are supported by history and science. It’s an all-volunteer group that is supported by tax-deductible donations. The MCF conducts science programs, field trips, seminars, and workshops. Find out more at this link.
I also want to thank the Quentin Road Bible Baptist Church for hosting our Chicago-area seminar—especially thanking its pastors, father and son James and Jim Scudder. Dr. Andrew Snelling and I also had the opportunity to speak at its college, Dayspring Bible College (and Seminary), and also to its K–12 Christian school. Interestingly, this church is said to have the highest-attended preschool program in the entire country. Find out more about this unique church and its various outreaches at www.qrbbc.org.
In the photo, Dr. Andrew Snelling and I are flanked by Dr. James Scudder, senior pastor, and his son Jim Scudder, Jr., executive pastor, of Quentin Road Bible Baptist Church.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
