Scott Thomas earned his stripes in visual design—you probably recognize his work from the 2008 Obama campaign and the design of Fast Company's website—but he's now heading into new territory: leading product design at the health-focused product startup Scanadu. While abruptly transitioning from one field to another might seem like a head scratcher, Thomas views it as two sides of the same coin. "The fundamental principles are the same," he says. "Whether it's a product or a software, you're thinking about it in the fourth dimension, which is space and time."

Director Terry Gilliam was unexpectedly found alive yesterday at the age of XXX. He was truly a British icon. And still is. Meanwhile full-time Victorian cosplayer Sarah Chrisman revised and extended her 2013 XOJane "It Happened To Me! with a sort of "It Is Still Happening To Me" for Vox. Chrisman and her husband do their best to live in a smug and fetishized recreation of the Victorian era (for upper-class white people) which consists mainly of corsetry and bicycling instead of engagement with the British Empire's foundations in racism, colonialism, and military-backed drug dealing. While she apparently makes allowances for operating a promotional website, Chrisman very authentically projects a 19th century sense of entitled self-satisfaction and grievance.

The new Apple TV is here. It's a long overdue refresh to the device, which will now support third-party apps. It also has a redesigned remote, which includes a touch pad and can be used as a game controller. As predicted, Apple TV now also supports Siri voice control. The device will ship with universal search, which will allow users to search for content across apps like Netflix, Hulu, HBO Now, and Showtime.
