New Anthology Soft Launch

Circlet's new book, Like a Long Journey Home isn't actually on the Circlet site yet, 'cause they're having Shopping Cart Woes.

It is, however, now up for sale at a bunch of other places. To wit: Smashwords, Scribd (how DO you pronounce that, anyway), and AllRomanceEbooks. That last link is particularly notable because it contains a 3800-word excerpt from my own contribution to the anthology, Ota Discovers Fire

Cloacal Kiss

I can't say I care much for their music, but North Carolina metal band Cloacal Kiss has an awesome band name, and an even awesomer logo. The image riffs rather wittily on the infamous Argentine lake duck photo that introduced the world to the improbable masculine endowment of that particular waterfowl. This morning I turned to the comics section of the Boston Globe, and found an advice column with what may be the most amazing example of sexual procrusteanism Evar.

Wherein I judge a book by its cover

At Kramerbooks today, I thumbed through Do Androids Sleep with Electic Sheep?, a book about the intersection of SF and porn (and wasn't Re/Search publishing dissolved at one point, when the people doing it broke up? Anyone know the backstory there?). Looking through it, I immediately noticed the names Thomas Roche, Annalee Newitz, and Violet Blue. I was hooked and half-reeled-in.
