The Giveaway-True Fire Book 1
Congratulations to all ten winners of a print edition of True Fire Book 1 The Ring of Truth. This book is now on its way to you direct from the publisher and should be delivered by the 14th December - just in time for Christmas.
Sorry I couldn't sign your winning copy, the logistics of living in the land of Oz and the cost of postage here made that exercise prohibitively expensive.
Any feedback on Goodreads would be welcome, as I may have another giveaway in the New Year. Right now I'm busy writing Book 4 of True Fire. Yes, it wouldn't leave me alone. A lot of this volume will take place in another land with brand new characters but don't worry, some of the characters you already know will be featured in it too.
Finally, a big thank you to all the people who have taken the time to write reviews of the True Fire books on Goodreads and Amazon.

True Fire 4
Have spent the last two days writing about six hours a day. This is how my books form, in bursts of frenetic writing.
I'm 20,000 words into it - only a 100,000 or so to go. Still, 16% is written now.
I haven't got a working title yet but will have by the next post.
Cheers, B. Cam

Reading and writing.
I find that when I'm writing I have no real desire to read. It would be like carrying two stories in my head at once. Dreaming is going well and I have a lot of the story in front of me but the details have to add up.
Details, details. Sewing the fabric of a story together is a bit like quilt-making. If its not done right - the patterns don't match. Sometimes its like the butterfly effect is in play; alter something early on and the whole thing gets thrown out of whack.
The objective is to try and get it right the first time.
For example: What is the social structure of a herd/flock/mob of drakons. Do I need to use someone else's opinion of their social interactivity or can I formulate my own?

The World of True Fire
When I think about the World of True Fire, I realise there is so much more story left to write. In the first trilogy, the Northern Lands were the focus of events but, like Earth, there is a lot going on elsewhere on the planet.
I haven't yet explored Cheshwon or Cringle's search for his mother which would form part of the next book but something odd happened last year. I set out to write a completely new fantasy story only it wasn't completely new, it was still set in the World of True Fire but in a different land. I only realised that fact when it intersected with the current tale during a particularly rewarding dream which linked the stories.
Unlike my other books, which sprawl across a variety of genres, True Fire is pure fantasy. The Fold is the nearest to it but didn't give me the same sense of completeness or satisfaction that True Fire does. I find the world is often in my thoughts, as are the day to day activities of its inhabitants. There is war in a southern realm where books on magic are being collected up and burnt, the inhabitants need help.
The Draakon Reavers are rebuilding their fleet and bearing grudges while warring with their neighbors for resources. Further afield, sentient drakons are making themselves known. Much is afoot.
