Privacy issues aside because Facebook, Threads is good actually
Maybe #AEWDynamite should just be Being the Elite for a few weeks. Loosely-produced intimate segments of wrestlers with their families and friends just being people. That’s be nice, actually.
Good timing: Animal Crossing. Bad timing: Westworld
In the last week, I’ve downloaded Teams, Slack, Zoom, and WebEx. So far as I can tell these are all just one product. Can we kill three of them?
As a gamer, I can state officially that there’s absolutely no excuse to ever go near an EB Games.
Exactly like and because of WrestleMania, Frans Not Here will be an online affair this time. Join us for an instagram live show Saturday night at 9pm. You have to. It’s my birthday!
I literally just got a spam email from EB Games saying “We hope to see you in-store soon!”
I don’t suppose there’s any way to turn off lock screen notifications for shortcuts? Asking for a bored shut-in
Here’s an @IFTTT I could use. When I add a movie to my watchlist in [criterion/amazon/netflix, etc], add the same movie to my @letterboxd watchlist. An absolute superpower would be to be able to do the opposite.
I want this mug
It’s $30 and it’s stupid and I wouldn’t even use it. But just look at it.
That’s it. That’s the blog post.

Ten songs a Week returns
features tracks from The Leonard Simpson Duo, Danny Brown and more. A selection of hip hop tunes.
A modest text entry for what, to me, is a crazy thing: the first TSAW mix since 2015.
update: the first two mixtapes since 2015.

Free photography workshops
Professional Photographers of America:
Times are tough - we need to be at our best. More kindness. More patience. More giving. And we at PPA want to pitch in to make things a little easier. What better way to spend your time at home than preparing your business for when things kick back into high gear?
That’s why PPA is opening ALL of our online education to ALL photographers and small business owners worldwide for the next two weeks.
Did you sign up for free Affinity Photo but don’t know how to take a picture?
Free online concerts in Toronto
For the next 3 weeks, we’ll go into 19 closed concert venues with 19 iconic Toronto bands whose tours have been cancelled and livestream a 40 minute set. You’ve never seen these artists like this. You’ve never seen these venues like this.
Urgent times call for urgent creativity. Our artists will lead the way.
The videos are free, but the project is not. To pay the artists, technicians, venues, and organizers who brought you this content, go to our gofundme page.
Cool.

12 Women on Their Favorite Video Games
As we do our part to stem the spread of the coronavirus by practicing social distancing, we’re considering (or reconsidering) hobbies we previously overlooked or set aside. For instance: video games. What better way to distract oneself from the grim reality of the outside world than to immerse oneself in a new one, where the only concerns are gathering food and treasure, beating monsters, and leveling up? Plus, they require both hands, successfully preventing the urge to take another look at the phone.
Good list, great reasons. Video games are the best.
Affinity — Supporting the creative community
Affinity is temporarily offering:
A new 90-day free trial of the Mac and Windows versions of the whole Affinity suite…A 50% discount for those who would rather buy and keep the apps on Mac, Windows PC and iPad…A pledge to engage more than 100 freelance creatives for work, spending the equivalent of our annual commissioning budget in the next three months
Great offer from Affinity, just in case Adobe’s two-month free trial doesn’t suit your workflow.
Microsoft announces new Teams features as usage skyrockets nearly 40 percent in a week
Microsoft is planning to introduce a new real-time noise suppression feature for Teams meetings later this year. This is especially ideal if you’re working from home and children or pets are running around making noise or when you’re trying to discretely dig into a bag of chips.
I can think of at least one person who may find this useful.

Adobe Offers Two Free Months of Creative Cloud
With an increasing number of creatives working from home, Adobe has stepped in to offer current users two free months of Creative Cloud. Simply navigate the CC website and proceed to the cancellation page, there, users will be offered two months free before formally canceling. (You can give any reason for cancellation.) After accepting their offer for two free months, a $60 credit is applied to your account. This isn’t a coincidental secret promotion; it’s a direct response to support individuals (especially freelancers) who are facing immediate financial difficulties. Read more at Digital Arts Online.
This ones’ good too, but I guess it wouldn’t be Adobe if the process wasn’t needlessly complicated.
