A plagiarism

From Miles Kee of The Awl:

As to those, who in presence of their betters are too lowly in speech so that they bring not their voice whole to the lips, it happened to me and without full utterance I began:1

A must read.

Scrivener 2

The new Scrivener is remarkable. It's going to replace Pages in every way but Resume creation and opening other people's Word 97-2003 files.

I'll have a full review up soon.

I'm leaving Tumblr

I just spent 20 minutes revamping some things on the backend of the site and felt the brunt of no fewer than three error messages. This place is just not stable. It's sad, really. Tumblr was the first website I ever really, really liked. I've been on and off the place since 2006, finally settling in last summer and digging in hard.

But what to do? Where does one go? Wordpress? Egad. Blogspot? I'd rather be Amish. Windows Live Spaces?

If Toronto is like New York without all the stuff (Thanks 30 Rock), then Posterous is Tumblr without the community (there are people there, but not like this). It's pretty simple blog stuff, but the lack of real breakout popularity means there likely won't be as many problems. Plus, their import/export options are magnifique, and I like that their post options are the perfect middle ground between Tumblr's gorgeous simplicity and Worpress's overkill of total control.

http://ksawyerpaul.posterous.com. There's not much there right now, but that's because Tumblr's API is broken.
