Yes, I Really am this Geeky

I have a new gallery on the studio's G+ page and a Pinterest board where I'll be posting pics of all the geeky stuff I find myself getting into for all you fellow cosplayers and super geeks out there. The first instalment is me cosplaying as a Shadowhunter for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones movie release. Apparently I did such a good job with the runes the movie theater staff actually thought they were real tattoos.

It’s Not Too Late to Join Camp NA

For the past few weeks, the cool peeps over at NewAdultAuthors.org (yours truly included) have been running a free online camp for those who write, or are interested in writing, New Adult fiction. Besides having weekly activities, challenges, and helpful counselors, the camp also features a companion live twitter chat and live audio broadcast that reflects the camp activities for that week. Which brings me to the next cool thing...

The Storm behind Your Eyes now in Print!

This morning four boxes of these arrived at the studio over a week ahead of schedule! So the first thing I did—after unboxing them and posting a Vine vid of it for you all to join in the fun—was hop on Amazon and see if the print listing was live. Sure enough, it was there in all it’s shiny awesomeness complete with a Look Inside feature. So now all you paper book lovers can have the tactile reading pleasure of having your very own copy of TSBYE in your hot little hands =^.^=

The Storm behind Your Eyes Makes USA Today

I was informed today that one of my books (this time The Storm behind Your Eyes) has once again made the New Release Round-up over on the USA Today blog. Making the list once was cool enough, but making it twice in a row makes me so excited about the future.
*Feel free to squee along with me =^.^=

Ask Kat: How do you usually customize a font?

If you’re not a font designer but still want font customization you can change the kerning, tracking, skew, or the vertical or horizontal scale of the text. You can also add layer effects to give your fonts that extra pop, but try to reserve that for only title text. If you want to try your hand at font design, I would suggest using Illustrator to create your font and then move it to InDesign to do the rest of your layout work. Or send your newly created font to a company that can turn it into a real editable font.
