Help me choose a catch phrase

So I’m getting some swag done up for RomCon but I need a shory catchy phrase. I need to keep it simple, yet evocative. HELP! Do you like…

“For Romance with a twist visit www.EveLanglais.com

“No one does romance and humor like Eve Langlais”

“Where romance and laughter collide, EveLanglais.com”

“Looking for aliens, shifters or cyborgs? Visit EveLanglais.com”

Or does anybody have something better? I am at the point I hate everything I come up with lol.

New Social Media Sharing Buttons

In an effort to get with the times, I’ve added sharing buttons at the top of most of my website pages. Problem is, I can’t be sure they work. lol. So if anyone wants to take a second and click on them, that would be great and if they misbehave let me know so I can wrestle them into shape. Or sob in a corner. I swear, just when I think I’ve got a handle on the new stuff, something else comes along to mock me.

A rough excerpt of FUC #4 because it’s Friday

Nolan instantly woke when the fight outside his bedroom erupted. It started with the bang of his condo door hitting the wall which erupted into a snarl he recognized—uh oh, mother’s here–followed by Clarice’s “Who the hell are you?” Bigger uh-oh.

“I’ll ask the questions here, bird. Where’s my son?”

     “In the bedroom.”

“Where he obviously wants to sleep alone, hussy. Can’t you take a hint? Get your clothes and go.”

     “Not happening.”

“Excuse me. Do you know who you’re dealing with?”

“I think I can guess and my answer is still no. Like it or not, I’m not going anywhere. As a matter of fact, you should get used to seeing me around Nolan. I’ll be sticking real close as a matter of fact. Where he goes, I go.”

Dead silence. “Are you implying what I think you are, big bird?”

Crazy falcon. She baited the wrong person. Nolan couldn’t help but grin though as he  imagined his mother’s face. I am liking my new ASS friend more and more.

“Big? I wouldn’t be calling me fat, Garfield. Did someone indulge in one too many saucers of cream? You know, the pet store is having a sale on catnip and mice. Maybe you should invest in some and work off those extra pounds.”

Ah, there’s nothing like meeting a hero’s mother for the first time and getting off to a great start. Have a great weekend!

Summarizing my stories with just one, short sentence

A popular crime/thriller author, J.A. Konrath, wrote an interesting blog about summarizing story lines in one brief, yet catchy, sentence (Click here to read about it). The post was great as he gave examples for several popular books as well as some of his own. I found it wildly entertaining, enough that I thought I’d try it with some of my titles. See if you can guess which is which. Or even better, come up with some of your own.

Grumpy bear falls for perky rabbit.
Hellish daughter falls in love to spite evil father.
Cyborg kidnaps his nurse for sex.
Blue alien abducts earthling as his mate.
Alien pirate can’t sell his barbarian.
Crazy witch meets annoying yet lovable demon.
Psycho brings a demon out of his funk.
A stripper, a genie and a shapeshifter meet in a bar.
Dominant bitch meets her match in a pair of geeks.
A Bonnie and Clyde romance in space with aliens.
Lizard gets a furry scarf.
Plot to make a guy jealous nets her two lovers.
Runs from one man only to end up with three.

See what I mean about fun? lol. Now you try it.

A Mercenary’s Guide to Prosperity

I’ll bet you barbaric humans didn’t know that mercenaries follow a strict set of rules when it comes to looting and killing. After all, we are not just a bunch of ill-disciplined savages who murder and thieve without purpose. On the contrary, we are expert acquisition specialists and executioners who can solve just about any problem, for the right price.

And I aim to be one of the best mercenaries of all. Or will be once the universe recognizes the anarchy and chaos I leave in my wake.

Now keep in mind, not just anyone can strive for my level of greatness, but if you’d like to give it a try, here are a few of the laws the most famous mercenaries in the universe follow, condensed into point form, of course, so your underdeveloped human brains can comprehend.

1. No money, no fight. (As if we’d give away our talent for free.)

3. Everything is possible for the right price. (Please see the appendixes at the back of the guide for a breakdown of rates.)

4. Never leave any of the enemy alive.

5. Relieve yourself sexually as often as possible lest lust cloud your judgment. (And don’t forget to leave payment lest you get banned from your favorite brothel.)

7. Never skip an opportunity for blackmail.

8. Show no tolerance for insults or slurs.

11. Don’t kill your allies. (Unless they double cross you, the price is right or you don’t want to share.)

13. Questions are for the uncertain.

15. Personal revenge has no price.

16. Altruism is for the weak.

22. Never let a female best you, not even in a battle of words. Reassert dominance through any means possible.

And these are just some of the rules which I, Makl, greatest mercenary in the universe (now that my bloody cousins have retired) live by. Want to see me in action, as well as admire my virility and impressive fighting skill? Then pick up a copy of my latest adventure, Mercenary Abduction on sale now at all major online stores, universe wide.

What a crazy week for news

TGIF!

It’s been such a busy week, it’s hard to know where to start. I wasn’t sure how to announce some of it, so I thought I’d just do one big blog post lol. So in no particular order…

I’ve got numerous nominations over at Mary’s Naughty Whispers. If you’d like to vote, take a peek, and check out this fabulous review blog dedicated to menage and only menage, then I encourage you to Click Here. I got a crazy amount of nominations and am up against some seriously great authors. Stiff competition (lolol). Even if you’re not usually into voting. bookmark this site if you need to find a book where love is multiplied by 2, or 3 or more…

Next…Once again, Bunny and the Bear steps up and shines, or should I say incurs giggles making it one of Joyfully Reviewed Best of 2012. More than a year since I published it, I can’t believe my humorous tale of a bunny and her grumpy bear is still making waves, but at the same time I am delighted. Apparently, I’m not the only one who likes a good chuckle with her romance.

So the coolest thing happened this week. A French publisher, Milady, has decided to publish the first two Freakn’ Shifter books in French. How awesome is that! The French editions should launch in paperback and ebook by July in France, Quebec and other places where French books are sold. I can’t wait! This will be the first translation of my work and I’ll admit, it is exciting. You know what this means though? I’ll have to leave my writing cave and plan a visit to a Montreal book store so I can take a picture of my first ever books on shelves. It’s kind of ironic that my dream of being in a bookstore will happen with a French edition first, lol. But, c’est la vie!
And then, as if my cake didn’t have enough icing, my Cyborg romance, F814, won a Sizzling Award for Best Paranormal, non-shifter/vampire. Who would have ever thought a romance story of machines trying to come to terms with their humanity and learning to love would be so honored? Can this week get any crazier?

Once again, I am overwhelmed by my readers and their enjoyment in the stories I craft. I wish I could hug you all. But since that would involve me leaving the house and my keyboard, how about I just keep working away creating more romance stories and whacky worlds to enjoy. LOL. So how was your week? And who out there is looking forward to February 7th? Mercenary Abduction is coming…and I might be biased, but damn, I think this is the funniest one yet.

lol

Happy reading everyone,

Eve
