Win eBooks, Misunderstandings and Klout

Yes, I managed to get myself doubled booked today.  Again.  Ah well.

First, I'm at Babbling About Books and More talking a bit about my new release, First Time, Forever, and a few romance tropes including the Big Misunderstanding. This is the last stop in the Carina Press m/m week blog tour, and you'll have another chance to win the bundle of 6 ebooks that were released this week from Carina.  Lots of good stuff there, so stop by to enter.

Second, I'm at Flirty Author Bitches talking about my experience with Klout.  I have to admit, the whole experience took me by surprise and mostly convinced me that I'm doing social media wrong.

Hope to see you at one or the other… or both ;)

The Lucky Seven

Erica Pike and Poppy Dennison both tagged me in this Lucky Seven meme.  Here are the rules:

1. Go to page 77 (or 7th) of your current ms

2. Go to line 7

3. Copy down the next 7 lines-sentences or paragraphs- and post them as they're written. No cheating.

4. Tag 7 other authors. No cheating.

It seems like a lot of fun, but before I get into it… I need to lay out a couple of provisos.  First, the only thing I'm really superstitious about is my writing.  This better be a *lucky* thing to do!  Secondly, my current manuscript is in the first draft stage, and because I usually include notes and place holders in the body of my first draft, it's a complete mess.  So, since I got tagged by 2 authors, I figure I'll also include lines from a recent submission – that hopefully isn't a complete mess.  And, of course, I have no guarantee that either of these will end up getting contracted. This might be all you see of them.  But I'm only tagging 7 other authors!

First – completely rough, unnamed manuscript.

"We got word that one of the suspected up and comers in ***'s organization has advertised for a roommate.  I want you to get in there and see one – if the connection is real, and two – if you can find some inside information on ***.  If we can't take him down, we're going to have more incidents like today."

Ivan frowned.  "A roommate?  Why on earth would he need a roommate?"

Moffett shrugged.

Second – refined submission, working title – Craving

Reason suggested he dial it back, interact like two civil colleagues, but reason was crushed under a rancid tide of anger and regret.  Brandon had done nothing but suppress his feelings since the day he'd been told his hearing would never fully return.  Seeing Oliver again tapped a deep well of bitterness he hadn't known was festering in his soul, and words spouted from his mouth that his brain tried desperately to abort.

"Can you?  Without getting people hurt or killed?"

Anger added a rosy flush to Oliver's bronzed cheekbones.  "Injury is a risk."

Gah.  Terrified to post this… so superstitious!

A Flock of Firsts – blogging at Carina Press

I'm blogging today at the Carina Press blog to celebrate my new release, First Time, Forever. And I'm talking about firsts, especially when it comes to reading. If you've got any memorable firsts in relation to reading, come on over and share them! The blog is supposed to go live at 3:15 pm Eastern, so come on over and help me celebrate my part of M/M week at Carina!

It's Release Day for First Time, Forever!

It's release day!  I'm so happy to be part of M/M week at Carina Press.  If you love manlove, then there's lots to choose from today!  Aside from my own release, First Time, Forever (which has a great review and recommended read today from Mrs Condit Reads Books), Erastes, Ava March, Kim Knox, Dev Bentham and Larry Benjamin have new releases with me.  You've got your choice from historical, contemporary and sci-fi.

I have to say, March has been an awesome month for me, writing-wise.  I may start to become superstitious about it!  In March 2010, my first book came out (MIA Case Files: Wolfsbane).  In March 2011, my third book (and first Carina book, Spice 'n' Solace) came out.  Now, in March 2012, my 6th book is being released.  Love March!  Hopefully I can keep the streak alive for 2013.

Win Books!

There's also a blog tour and opportunities to win all 6 M/M releases each day – check out the details.

Check out M/M week at  Carina Press – I'm sure you'll find lots to enjoy!

TV again – blogging at Contact Infinite Futures

I'm at Contact Infinite Futures talking about a recent series I watched on Netflix, called Surface.  It was cancelled several years ago, started with a good premise, but failed in it's execution.  Sea monsters – c'mon, it could've been so good!  Oh well.

Win eBooks for Upcoming Carina Press M/M week

UPDATE: What I should have included in this post was ALL the places you can win copies of the six upcoming Carina Press M/M week releases (thanks, Chris!).  And if this looks familiar… I'm reposting because I don't think the RSS feed picked up the updates.

First: Chris at Stumbling over Chaos is hosting a pre-release contest. You could win a bundle of all six books.

Second: The blog tour. Check out this page for details and links to tour stops. There will be opportunities to win at all the tour stops.

Third: Jessewave is offering all six books as freebies during release week, but I don't know if will be as a bundle or individually. Check the site for details, and if/when I find out for sure, I'll post here.

Release day for First Time, Forever is coming up soon, and it's being released along with a bunch of other awesome M/M books. We've got several stops for a blog tour, where you can win copies of these new releases:

A Brush With Darkness by Erastes
Brook Street: Thief by Ava March
Moving in Rhythm by Dev Bentham
Bitter Harvest by Kim Knox
First Time, Forever by KC Burn
What Binds Us by Larry Benjamin

Checkout the details of the tour here.

To Chapter or Not To Chapter – blogging at Flirty Author Bitches

I'm at Flirty Author Bitches today talking about chapters in books.  Are they important to your writing process?  I must admit, I have very specific opinions about chapters, although I may be alone in that.  Stop by if you can!
