escape from hermitage!

Sounds like a great book, doesn't it?  No?  Boring?  Hmmm...

Well, it would appear that my escape from hermitage is complete and I'm back in the wonderful blogosphere!  I have to say, I've seriously missed my bloggy buddies the last few weeks and am in serious surfing withdrawal.

With our internet back up and running, things this week have returned to normal.  And it really got me thinking a bit.  I mean, there are quite a few of us writer's out there, right?  And we spend soooo much time alone...

NOLA trip!

Well our internet is still down and we do indeed think it's the same problem as last time.  Calling today to get a tech out so until then I'll borrow internet connections here and there while I can.

I'm also on vacay next week so I plan on being unplugged and getting some things done around the house in a leisurely manner!  Perhaps some kitchen painting???  I know, I know.  I party like a rock star.  In my defense, we may squeeze in a trip to the beach and maybe a day or two in the mountains...

She's alive for realz.....and the joy of autographed books!

I'm alive, I swear.  I am.

But apparently my home internet is not.  It seems every.single.time it rains or there's a serious thunderstorm, our high speed DSL goes out.  Not just a little either.  Like need to have a tech come to your house to fix something under the ground type of fix.  Fun stuff.  And they always think it's our modem.  Seriously.  So now we're in the process of making sure it's NOT our modem so they will come out.  I know nothing about this kind of thing so some handy famil...

The Wednesday Review

Wow...where did the week go?

It's been a busy week at the Chestnutt household with no slowing down in sight!  Lots of commitments, travels, and activities in the coming weeks so blogging will be less frequent, or maybe more so now that I've proclaimed it won't be.  We all know how that goes, right?

Well, onto my latest book review.  I branched out with this latest book selection, it's a NY Times Bestseller and I like to mix in a few serious, life changing books here and there.

But I have to ...

Some Friday Slack-age Fun!

It's Friday, the work week is coming to an end and the weekend lay ahead in all of it's magnificence.

Instead of posting today I thought I'd share some of my favorite linkage instead....it's been a while since I've done this and I love finding new, great blogs and sharing the bloggy love!

First up is one of the most creative blogs I've seen in a while.  And being a mother myself, I was just in awe of what this lady has done.  Thanks to DGLM for posting the linkage first!  Check this out for...

Yay me ~ And some pretty cool books

Okay, we all know summer is in full swing and I've admitted several times that my brain has felt fried as of late, right?  Right.

But guess what?  I've won something.  And hearing that I'd won it made me do a little happy dance in celebration.  Because I *rarely* win anything.  And this thing is pretty freakin' cool.

I sometimes feel like I'm the kid always picked last in gym class and while I know winners are picked at random, it's hard not to believe the universe has it out for me somedays....

Tuesday Inspiration...

Is it just me or has the summer time distraction hit everyone on the blogs?  Am I just trying to make myself feel better by assuming there are others out there as distracted as I am?  Or is it really true?

As for me, I blame it all on the heat.  I believe it's frying my will to live each and every time I step outside.  And I love the outdoors so it's a shame.  But after my walk at the park on Saturday, I'm thinking it's time to hibernate for a while until it cools down.  I really don't like sw...

A Friday full of cuteness!

TGIF everyone!

Thought it would be fun to post a few of my favorite photos, definitely not because I'm lazy and have nothing genius to say today, definitely not.  I mean, that would be crazy.  Braindead on a Friday??? NEVER!

Hope you all have a fantabulous weekend!

*hugs*

The Wednesday Review

Hmmmm....couldn't figure out where my big dog was this morning (our boxer, Van Gogh) and found him in my toddler's room, curled up on the bed.  Think he must've heard little man get up in the middle of the night and come into our room, a light bulb went off, and he decided to swap places.  It was definitely a first.  I have to admit, I was pretty impressed.  Our dogs are not allowed on the bed and I thought his move was pure genius!  Sneaky little buggers, dogs.  By the time I showered this m...

Tuesday Inspiration

A little inspiration and currently one of my favorite tunes ~ I'll make this short and sweet, errr, short.

Gabrielle has a gorgeous voice and I bought this entire album and loved it!  Even hubs is a fan.

*Happy Tuesday*
